Meet Benito – Your Happy-Go-Lucky Adventure Buddy! Basic Info: Name: Benito Breed: Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog Mix Sex: Male DOB: April 10, 2022 Weight: 46 lbs Intake Date: April 9, 2024 Personality – Happy, Playful & Full of Zest: Benito is pure sunshine on four paws! Always ready to play, explore, or lean in for a pet, he’s got an infectiously joyful personality that will keep a smile on your face. He loves interactive games, running around the yard, and getting belly rubs. Benito thrives on connection and fun—he’s a dog who wants to be in the middle of the action and part of the family. With him, every day is a new adventure. Breed Information: As a mix of Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog, Benito is naturally intelligent, alert, and active. These working breeds are known for their stamina, loyalty, and sharp minds. Benito will benefit from regular physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him balanced and happy. Puzzle toys, training sessions, and active play will help him shine. He’s eager to learn and eager to please! Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise: walks, play, fetch, or dog sports Offer mental stimulation through training, puzzles, and games Use positive reinforcement training—Benito is smart and responsive Maintain regular veterinary care and vaccinations Ensure he’s part of the family, not left alone for long periods Provide structure, patience, and love Create a safe, indoor home environment Commitment for Life: Benito is not a short-term companion—he's a lifelong partner. Adopting him means committing to his care, well-being, and happiness for all of his days. He needs a family that understands that dogs are not disposable—they are forever. In return, Benito will give you loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. Do Not Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Benito should never be tied up or left outdoors alone. He needs companionship, safety, and interaction. Tethering a dog outside is not only dangerous but also deeply unfair to a social, intelligent dog like Benito. He deserves to be inside, where he can be close to his people and thrive. Why Adopt Benito? Because Benito brings joy wherever he goes. He’s playful without being overwhelming, smart without being stubborn, and affectionate without being clingy. He’s the perfect match for an active individual or family who wants a loyal sidekick with a big heart. Adopt Benito and experience the happiness of having a dog who truly loves life—and loves you.  Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting this wonderful dog, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles–based rescue dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home. Story
Meet Arnold ! LIVING WITH A DOG TRAINER, DOG AND CAT FRIENDLY! Arnold is a super goofy dog who is constantly making us laugh. He is active, but also loves to lounge and cuddle up in the house. We believe he is a shepherd/husky/herding dog mix. He has herding dog tendencies, like gentle nipping at hands when he’s excited and enjoying stalking + chase with other dogs. He also has the German shepherd loyalty and devotion! It’s hard to find a dog as committed to his person as Arnold. He sticks close to his person making him an excellent off leash candidate for trails, biking, etc. He is very affectionate and cuddly with his people! Arnold is medium energy and needs at least one hour of activity a day. He loves to walk, run, play tug, bike ride, play with other dogs, and explore new places. He knows drop it, sit, down, and is learning recall. Arnold is neutral with new people but is curious and doesn’t take long to warm up. He is getting a lot of healthy socialization with dogs and humans. He is working on his crate training and learning to be okay on his own. He is quiet in the crate when you are not home, but can struggle with separation when you are present. Arnold and Bria came from a hoarding situation in Texas, where there were 20 other dogs living in very difficult conditions. After being rescued, he had to fight hard at the start but today he’s healthy and ready for a forever home. All POSO Dogs come with: - Spayed/Netuered - Basic Shots (age appropriate) - Fecal and tick disease testing - other medical concerns addressed before adoption - 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer - Training received in foster home - Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar - PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations

Story
What a handsome senior pup! Gunner is searching for a calm, low-stress home where he can be spoiled rotten. He`s lovely and easy on walks. His favorite thing is to carry a toy with him on his outings. Don`t let his age fool you - he loves squeaky toys and would love to find a home who will play tug and fetch with him. He lived with another dog in his previous home, but doesn`t appear to have much experience meeting new dogs, so we recommend a doggie meet-and-greet here in the shelter if you have another pup at home. To help him find a quiet spot to land, HSBV will only rehome him to a family without children or with children over the age of 10.

Story
Meet Speckles — Your New Best Friend  If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly companion to share your adventures, look no further than Speckles! This handsome retriever/collie mix (approximately 4 years old per EAPL vet review) is ready to find the family he's been waiting for. Speckles is the whole package — he walks beautifully on leash, knows how to "sit pretty," and won't drive your neighbors crazy with barking. He's a true people-lover who lights up around humans and gets along great with other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for multi-pet households. When it comes to fun, this boy means business. Toss him a ball or a Kong and watch his eyes light up — then take him for a walk and you'll have a happy, tired pup by evening. Speckles thrives with activity and would absolutely flourish in a home with a yard where he can stretch his legs and explore. Speckles is clearly a smart cookie who is eager to please — with a little consistent training on basic commands, he's going to be an absolute star. If you're an active family or individual ready to invest a little time and a lot of love, Speckles will pay you back tenfold. Apply to adopt this  handsome  guy at EAPL.com— we have a feeling it'll be love at first sight.    Put in an application at eapl.com. His adoption fee is $375 March 7, 2026, 2:40 pm

Story
Meet Archer!  Archer is a handsome Border Collie/Lab mix who is almost 1 year old and weighs 58 pounds — and he is absolutely everything you could want in a dog. He brings the fun with his playful, puppy-like energy, but don't let that fool you — Archer has a wonderful off switch too. He spends most of his days calmly hanging out in a home office, patiently keeping his foster parent company while they work. Lazy mornings on the couch? He's in. Adventure at the park? Also in. Archer loves toys, cuddles, other dogs, and people — basically, he loves life. He's a natural social butterfly who gets along with everyone he meets. Fair warning: he also has a taste for shoes, so you may want to keep those out of reach while he's still working on what's his to chew!  The good news is that Archer is highly food motivated, which makes him an absolute joy to train. He's already almost fully house trained and is picking up basic manners quickly. With a little patience and consistency, this boy is going to be an absolutely incredible companion. You can already see the amazing dog he's becoming — Archer just needs the right family to help him get there. Could that be you?   Put in an application at eapl.com His adoption fee is $375     March 31, 2026, 12:12 pm

Story
Fenrir is a 4 year old higher energy dog that likes to be with his owner. He’s very smart (I have been teaching him left and right during our walks). He loves car rides. He would do well with someone who is able to be around most of the day and is willing to exercise him often. He does really well with my one cat, but the other cat hates him (Fen wants to play too much!) I have two younger boys (7&8) who Fen likes to be around, but he will growl if the boys get between him and his food. Because of that, I would NOT be comfortable rehoming to a house with kids smaller than mine.
