Meet Nala! This gentle girl is still learning that the world isn’t quite as intimidating as it sometimes seems. She can be timid in new situations, but with patience, consistency, and a little encouragement, her confidence is steadily beginning to grow. Nala is making great progress on leash walks and has even started offering playful invitations to the younger (and very playful) resident dog. She would benefit from having a confident canine companion in her new home—someone who can help show her the ropes and remind her that new experiences aren’t so scary. At home, Nala has some important skills already mastered. She is potty trained and genuinely enjoys the peace and quiet of her crate, giving her a comfortable place to relax and decompress. She is also gentle with older children, though a quieter home with kids ages 12+ would be the best fit for her. Nala isn’t looking for someone to rush her. She’s looking for a patient, steady family willing to give her clear expectations, positive experiences, and the time she needs to settle in. Oscar is an almost 2 year old Border Collie mix. Sadly, Oscar spent the majority of his life in a large shelter. He went in when he was about 10 weeks old and stayed there until he was a year and a half, when we were able to get him out. Since then he's been in a foster home. He was very very nervous when he first came in, and wanted nothing to do with new people. He was very gentle however and would just cower or hide when nervous. Since being in foster, he has come a very long way. He walks very well on leash with his trusted people, and doesn't seem scared of car/traffic noises. He is still very shy of new people, but once warmed up he's very sweet and offers tail wags, and likes to be pet. He is kennel trained and likes to go into his kennel as a safe space, and is very food motivated. He is potty trained and will potty on leash. Oscar will need. very patient and quiet home, with the understanding that he will take time to warm up but then will be a very sweet guy. We also recommend he go to a home with other dogs, since he absolutely loves all other dogs and will need a confident dog to show him that things are ok!Oscar is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Mac came to rescue as a puppy last summer with his three siblings, Dee, Dennis, and Charlie. All three of them were adopted promptly, but somehow Mac is still waiting for his turn. His siblings looked more like German Shepherd mixes, but Mac took a different direction. At just 36 lbs, he looks more like a Border Collie/Heeler mix and is a great medium size. Mac is a happy, easygoing boy who is very low maintenance and doesn't need constant attention or entertainment. He's great with other dogs and with cats and is perfectly content just being part of everyday life. After watching all three of his siblings leave for homes of their own, it's time for Mac to finally get his.
