Story
Hi everyone, my name is Pearl. I received this name because I was a diamond in the ruff when I was rescued. I would have died on the streets if I hadn't been saved. I took a little bit to get better, but now I am fully healed and ready to find the home I deserve. I am slow at first to trust you, but my foster Momma is my hero and I love her. I know I can love someone else like I love her. I am hoping to find a family that will give me the chance that no one else would. To see me for me. I have so much love to give. Will you give me a chance? ##2040181##

Story
We've had Echo 7 years, almost his whole life. He is a mutt, but mostly looks like an Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. He's very sweet. He will cuddle but much prefers to play fetch and be active, like many Blue Heelers. Loves being pet. Loves naps. Most days he doesn't get much exercise and he doesn't do anything destructive. Echo knows lots of tricks. Typical ones like sit and lay down, but also useful ones like "leave it" and "come" really well. We're looking to rehome Echo because he recently bit our child. Echo is reactive and resource guards. Our 3 year old tried to grab a bone he was chewing on and nipped his finger. He once bit by dad who cornered him too. Both times the bite didn't break the skin. Echo is very protective and barks at new people. He takes some time to warm up to people but becomes very loving once they're part of the pack.

Story
Meet Bell! Such a sweet and happy girl! She's also the perfect medium size at right around 40 pounds! From Bell's foster: "Bell is a sweet, goofy girl who is loyal to her people. I did find out the hard way she is a bit of an escape artist, so a yard with a reliable fence is a must for this girl. Bell is still such a puppy and has so much energy, but once she gets better mannered on a leash, she would love to go hiking and be out in nature. We took her with us on a recent trip, and she did great in the car and loved when we were able to let her roam around. Bell has never met a stranger on a walk recently. An elderly neighbor wanted to meet her, and we are working on not jumping, so while walking up to the lady, I told her off, and she was very sweet with the lady. She is happiest when she is around people. I believe she would do best in a house with another dog close to her in size to have a friend and playmate. I don't have cats, so I'm not sure how she would do around them, but my dogs are small, and she annoys them at times, but that has more to do with the fact that she wants to herd them but hasn't ever been aggressive to them in a way that concerned me. Bell is very loyal, and I have caught her sitting in front of my doggie door at night, wanting to protect the house from the outside world." From Bell's previous foster: "Yesterday she went on an adventure. She walked great. She absolutley loves everyone she meets. Happy wagging tail all the time. We are working on "off" with her with other strangers (though truly she knows no stranger). She is so active and happy girl. I adore this little girls energy. She has been great at teaching her other foster sister manners with our personal dog. She has the best and most loving pitty energy. She is a great teacher towards her foster sister. This girl deserves such a great home who will enjoy her active and social energy." "I just wanted to send you another update on Bell. She is doing great! She is super comfortable in her crate and only barks for a few minutes before settling down. At night she sleeps wonderfully in the crate. She is a huge ball of energy and needs lots of mental and physical stimulation otherwise she can get destructive. I have noticed she has a really large prey drive so I have kept her away from the cat and would not recommend her to go to a home with small animals. She is also super, super strong and needs someone who is able to handle her strength. When she sees something on walks that she wants to get to it's difficult to stop her. Other than that she is a wiggly goofball and super sweet and wants endless attention from her humans!!! She is super food motivated making training her a breeze. I was also wondering if I need to bring her to the adoption event Saturday and how that would work. Thanks!! (Also some adorable pics of the baby)" Previous shelter staff notes - very sweet girl who loves to snuggle but also loves to play rough & rowdy. She could match energy with dogs, sometimes she was very playful running all over the place & at other times she sat & watched the yard. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. Mary arrived at our rescue partner as a stray with her puppy, Harold! Momma is now ready for adoption herself! From her foster: "Mary has been doing great! She loves to go on walks and stays right by your side. She's a big snuggle bug and has to be right next to you wherever you are. She is a little weary of men but warms up pretty quick. Story
** If you are interested in Sierra, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Sierra is a great example of why people love Cattle Dogs. At just about 2 years old (such a great age..young enough to have many, many active and healthy years ahead and old enough to be beyond babyish behaviors) and a small 33 lbs., Sierra is open and curious to learn about the world. She is a loyal and loving girl who bonds hard and respects those that are kind and loving to her. Sierra had a tough early start in life and ended up homeless in Texas through no fault of her own. Sierra has a spirit about her that caught the attention of compassionate rescuers. They saved her from euthanasia at a scary high-kill shelter (due to space), and fell in love with her sweetness and kind nature. The following is from Sierra's foster: "This girl is absolutely amazing!! She goes to playgroup with around 10 other dogs every morning and does great. She is very people friendly and very well mannered." Farfel's Rescue feels that Sierra will be a wonderful best friend for active retirees or a younger family that enjoys including a fuzzy little dog in their activities. She will be overjoyed with the time spent and togetherness, becoming with time, a loyal best friend and a very important member of the family. Sierra will thrive with a family with dog-crazy older kids who enjoy fun activities with their pup. They would be able to participate in positive reinforcement group training classes to teach Sierra the skills to be able to accompany her family out in the community with excellent behavior. Farfel's will provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force free trainers in your area. Sierra can be relied on, once confident in her surroundings, to share her love and best behavior with her humans. As her confidence grows, she blossoms into a devoted best friend who wants nothing more than to share time, play and learning new skills with a kind and committed family. We feel that a full-time workday outside of the home for her family won't work for Sierra. She thrives on family-time and being at home while her people works full-time isn't in the best interest of this devoted companion. Sierra will be very in-sync with a family that includes her in dog-friendly adventures, backyard fun, exploring the Colorado mountains or window shopping on Pearl Street to learn urban skills are great adventures for Sierra. Sierra has been vetted and vaccinated to honor our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She is spayed as well. Sierra will be arriving on transport in Boulder in early April. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Annie please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.

Story
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see a sweet young dog that needs our help. Scarlet is one of these dogs that deserves, due to her excellent temperament and all the love she'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with pure love and nurturing. Scarlet is the kind of dog that once comfortable in her environment snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love. Scarlet is a gorgeous 34 lb, 3 - 4 year old purebred Australian Cattle Dog that is nothing but pure love. Scarlet's breed was identified by Texas veterinarians..all we know for certain is that this sweet girl is irresistible! This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated to her new life, will make a wonderful addition to a dog-loving family. Scarlet's Texas rescuer has the following to brag about sweet Scar...What else can I say other then this girl is pretty much perfect? She’s great with other dogs big and small, walks well on a mostly loose leash, seems potty trained, and loves absolutely everyone she meets (including an 8-year old girl she fell in love with on a walk!). Scarlet has a mellow and easy going personality and is the world's greatest cuddler. The family that adopts Scarlet is very lucky..they're getting a gem! Scarlet is a perfect size to be able to accompany her family just about everywhere a smaller dog is welcome. She will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and very sweet personality. Our dream for Scarlet is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes her for life. As Scarlet becomes comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more Scarlet will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see our wonderful girl in a home that includes her in family time and activities (and some lap or couch-time with belly rubs would be absolutely perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a smart and cooperative dog like Scarlet the skills to accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area. Scarlet will be a loving and devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, fun-loving and irresistible dog. She would love to have another gentle and fun dog to play with but it's not mandatory if her people are nurturing and involved. Scarlet would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She would bask in the attention and periodic cuddles throughout the day that this life-style brings. Scarlet's stunning coat (with the most gorgeous markings) is currently shelter-sad. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing, excellent 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement. This regimen will promote great health as well as a cottony-soft coat that is shining with great health. Scarlet has been fully vetted and is up to date on her vaccinations. This support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She has yet to be spayed however. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Scarlet's spay / microchip following her arrival in Boulder if one of our rescue vets is used. Scarlet will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 4/24/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Scarlet please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
