Story
Jazzy is the kind of dog who brings energy and happiness into your life—without overwhelming it. She’s playful, friendly, and fun, but also has an independent side that makes her easy to live with. Her past isn’t pretty—but you’d never know it. Jazzy is social and confident, great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and naturally fits into whatever environment she’s in. She’ll happily join in on playtime, go on walks, or even randomly take a dip in the pond—then settle down like it’s no big deal. She’s affectionate without being clingy and has that ideal balance people are always looking for but rarely find. Good fit: someone who wants a fun, social dog that adds energy and joy to daily life without being overwhelming or demanding. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
Meet Ogallala, but everyone calls her Olga! This sweet, beautiful girl is a Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle and silly heart that will make you smile. When she came to Soul Dog in 2021, she was shy and fearful, but thanks to her long term foster family, she has made amazing progress.Olga has gone from hiding in her favorite corner to relaxing on the sofa with her foster pack, greeting her family at the door, and even asking for affection. One of her favorite pastimes now is shouting out the window at people and dogs passing by. She really loves letting her voice be heard! While she has gained confidence, Olga still has a few fears. Loud noises, sudden banging, or busy sounds like kids playing basketball can startle her. When she is unsure, she may bolt and then settle in a safe spot. With gentle guidance and patience, she is learning that the world can be safe and fun.Olga is looking for a kind, understanding person who can give her love, calm guidance, and the time she needs to feel confident in a new home. Because she is so comfortable in her foster home, a gradual transition to her forever family will help her adjust and thrive.Olga is a sweet, joyful girl who is ready to bring love, smiles, and laughter to her forever home. If you would like to meet her, submit an application at www.souldog.org. For questions, email adopt@souldog.org.

Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Sam, Border Collie mix, 12 yrs. (62 lbs. overweight right now) Sam is friendly and has found himself in his senior years to be without the home that he has only known. His owner is going to memory care and no one in the family will take him. He is good on a leash, and on car rides. He seems to be good with other dogs, so we are looking for a home with someone home most of the time or that has another dog. Sam is loyal and comes in queue. Courtesy listing. Story
Bruce is a 1-year-old, sweet, goofy, high-energy dog who brings a lot of personality wherever he goes. He’s affectionate, curious, and still very much in that fun, playful stage of life.He would thrive in a home with a backyard and someone who enjoys an active lifestyle — long walks, hikes, or just getting outside regularly. He’s not a couch potato, he wants to be part of things. This isn’t a rushed decision. I care deeply about Bruce and want to find the right home for him — someone who has the time, space, and patience to give him the life he deserves. He has a lot of love to give, and I want to make sure it goes to the right person.

Max was with another owner, and was going to be taken to a shelter. I took him in, he is a pretty anxious dog but he’s extremely loving and patient. He is very high energy and great with kids. I just do not have the time he deserves. He is not the best with new dogs initially but once he warms up to them he does great.

Cattle Dog French Bulldog

(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Rose is a 7-month-old sweetheart with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Her mom was a French Bulldog, and Rose was the only puppy to survive her birth, making her a little miracle girl who has been loved and cared for from the very beginning. Now around 35 pounds, Rose is a playful, energetic pup who is full of curiosity and personality. She’s incredibly smart, expressive, and a bit talkative, which makes us think there may be some cattle dog or herding dog in the mix somewhere. She loves to interact with her people and is the kind of dog who will really bond with her family. Rose is crate trained and doing great with learning her puppy manners. She lives with kids, cats, and other dogs and does well in a home environment. Like many young dogs, Rose can be a little unsure when meeting new dogs or in new situations. She sometimes comes across as a bit bossy at first, so slow, thoughtful introductions are important while she continues building confidence and learning good social skills. The good news is she’s very trainable and eager to learn, and with continued positive experiences she’s already making great progress. Rose would thrive with a family that enjoys an active, intelligent puppy and is excited to continue her training and socialization as she grows. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal, and smart young dog who will keep you laughing and become a devoted companion, Rose might be your girl. Adoption fee is $450 ##2659174##
