Story
Meet Hartleigh! She is about 1 years old, 30 lbs and she is a mixed breed. In her foster home, she is working on house training, has not been crate trained, and walks well on leash. She could go to a home with other dogs, cats and kids 5+. Her foster say, "Hartleigh is the bestest girl. She is just about perfect. She loves cuddles and kisses with people and dogs. She also has great manners with the cats. She loves to play chase and a good game of bitey face with my dogs. She also LOVES toys and if you don't provide them she will take something of yours for her own. She listens really well and has earned her "out of crate" privileges. She is doing great with housetraining. Unless I'm gone a really long time, she holds it. She sleeps in the pile of dogs on bedevery night without issue. She is just so amazing. She's going to make someone the best forever friend."She is available for adoption with an approved adopter in N Dartmouth on December 15th. Story
Meet Maverick! He is about 5 years old, 41 lbs and he may have some Australian Cattle Dog in his mix. He thrives on quality time with his favorite person (or people), relishing every moment together. He's already acing his lessons in house-training, crate training, and leash walking during his foster stay. This loyal sidekick would happily join a household with other furry friends and children aged 10 and up. As for cats, well, that's a mystery yet to be solved! Maverick takes his duty of safeguarding his loved ones seriously, so we're seeking an adopter with Cattle Dog experience and a willingness to work on positive reinforcement training is a must. His foster say, "Every vet that has ever met Maverick has commented on his great personality. He is a very loving, gentle boy and wants to please his person. He learns easily, is laid back, doesn't jump, and while he is suspicious of strangers, he just wants a person to love!"He is available for adoption with an approved adopter in Westborough by appointment. Story
Haus is on the hunt for a home to call his own. If you're looking for a active companion for long hikes and outdoor adventures, Haus could be the perfect match for you! He is a energetic pup who is up for adventures, wether hiking, swimming, or playing with his canine friends. Watching him do his adorable zoomies and seeing the never-ending smile on his face are sure to bring a smile to yours! He loves nothing more then playing with you or his dog friends. Haus has been in a foster home, living his best life, and learning some new people aren't so scary after all. Wondering what Haus' dream home looks like? - Haus needs an owner with experience handling working breed dogs who understands his needs. - He is seeking an active family who can take him on exciting outdoor adventures, especially hiking! - Haus loves spending time with other dogs and would like a canine sibling in his new home, as long as they are playful enough to keep up with his energy. - Given his tendency not to share, he would prefer to live with older teens or adults. - Although he can be wary of new people and things, Haus needs a family willing to help build his confidence. - A fenced-in yard would be perfect for Haus to let out all his energy. - Once Haus gets comfortable, he'll be happy to receive all the belly rubs he can get! Story
Tazz is a cute little guy, weighing only 22 lbs. He's housebroken! He's in a foster home with other small dogs and visiting grandchildren and is very well behaved. He will have bursts of energy during the day and needs adequate exercise, but he's little so will be easy to manage by your average family. One of the volunteers who walked him says, "Much to my surprise Taz walked beautifully on leash. No pulling, nose to ground. He loved everyone he met. Did great in the car. His back story: Typical Louisiana pup, he was following a mail deliverer and brought to rescue. He is so cute with his little antics, would make a great family dog. He can amuse himself. He likes soft toys and will settle down with a toy. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp only if you're ready to adopt right away. If you already have an application on file, please email adoptions@saveadog.org to express your interest.
