Story
Meet Max. He is a border collie between 6-8 years old. He loves to play fetch, go on walks, and cuddling. He is incredibly sweet and gentle. Unfortunately, his owners (which are my grandparents) had to move into assisted living and he is not allowed at the facility. We took him in for the time being and are just hoping to find him a loving home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  Scarlett is a very lovely girl who is loyal and smart.  She's done well with most dogs she's been around.  We discovered she does not like white German Shepherds however.  She was picked up by animal control with a poodle mix boy, Quincy, and they likely came from the same home as they seem to know each other well (vs meeting up on the streets).  She's slow going when meeting bigger dogs in general until she knows they're no threat to her but does great with smaller dogs.   She has been barking at the resident cat when she sees her but hasn't been face to face so we would say no cats until we know otherwise.   Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 28, 2023, 2:08 pm

Koa is such a sweet loving loyal dog, he loves to play or just hang around to keep you company. He loves soft squeaky toys and know s lots of commands. Sit, down, stay, speak, up, hug, wait, ok, go, heel, and so much more, he is so smart. He is also good outside and inside the house. He knows what spot means as in his own spot. He's good with children and other dogs as well. He's a good boy and our home is going to have a hard time to let him go.

Story
JOHN IS IN SEARCH OF A FOSTER HOME! He is currently recovering from surgery and is in need of a cozy and quiet home to do so. John is a very sweet, cuddly, kind hearted, playful young pup but he is also VERY very shy and timid of most things in the environment. He spends most of his time indoors because he will start to panic if he is outside alone or outside too long. Things like loud vehicles, sudden loud noises, or even sometimes the wind blowing will scare him. Once he is in that state of mind, it makes it difficult to train with him or continue a walk because all he thinks about is rushing back to PAWS. His kennel room is his safe space right now and that is where he is happiest. He is not fully potty trained because he gets spooked while outside and all he can think about is getting back ""home"" but we are doing our best to help him learn to potty outside. We are still looking for a safe and comfortable place for john to recover but for right now, his room is where he feels the safest. John is not a fan of cats but he did come from a home with other dogs so he has successfully lived with them before. We have had some trouble when introducing him to other dogs he is not familiar with. Because he is a herding breed and scared of new things, he uses those skills to circle and nip to keep the dogs at a distance. He shows very good signs of wanting to make friends and wanting to play with the other dogs but his fears win in most cases. We won't really know what John will be like in a home setting but we do know that deep down John is a very good dog that just wants to please and make you happy. We would really love to help John find his foster home or even his forever home and we are here to help in any way we can to make that happen! If you would like to talk more about John and his needs, please don't hesitate to call us at 360-533-1141 or email us at: adopt@pawsgh.orgPlease apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Ginger has been part of our family for over 8 years. My brother and sister-in-law adopted her at about a year and a half old, to grow up with their son Alec. She is very bonded with her 'brother' Skooter who was adopted about 6 years ago. They hope to remain together. My sister-in-law and brother have both passed away, about 18 months apart. I moved into their house with my nephew, Alec, and both dogs in October of 2021. Our circumstances are now changing, and we cannot keep the dogs. Ginger is very loving, playful, protective, assertive, not overly friendly with strangers, and territorial. She does not always do well with meeting other dogs. Ginger is fearful of loud noises- thunder, fireworks, gun shots. She has exceptional hearing, and will bark at anything she sees outside. She needs to be introduced to new people slowly, and would not do well around small kids. She is resistant to being brushed, or having her toenails trimmed, but has been to groomers in the past.
