Story
Ellie has had a rough start to life but she is recovering beautifully! She was found with head trauma and was unable to walk. She also had a broken arm and a ruptured eye that needed to come out. She has been slowly improving in foster care and is now able to walk, even though her arm is still in a cast. Her painful eye was removed so now she has a permanent wink! She still has a head tilt and a bit of a wonky gait, but that doesn't stop her from being a happy puppy. Ellie will need continued splint changes until mid-July, but she is ready to meet her forever family!Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. **HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal's location.(If you cannot see the animal's location, please view the pet's profile through our website: https://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt)From the Dog Kennels/Kennel Group I/Kennel Group Q (in shelter):To meet this dog, please come to Seattle Animal Shelter at 2061 15th Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119, between 1 - 5 pm Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Story
Hi I am Buddy,I have been told that I am a beautiful dog with my long coat and big brown eyes, but they could be just joking with me!Even though I am over a year old I still like to play like a puppy. I live with a lot of dogs right now. I would love to be the leader of the pack, but I know that I need to wait my turn. I live with cats too, I like to chase them so we can play but they are not happy to do that.I learn something every day, so I am pretty good with basic commands especially if it leads to a treat. I like to walk on a leash, but I pull sometimes when I see something interesting. I am very affectionate and want to give kisses to everyone. I have not lived with kids and frankly, they kind of scare me. But toys are my thing, I love them all.I spend most of my days outside so you may need to work with me for potty breaks. Once I know where to go, I will go there every time.I haven’t been to the beach yet, but I think I would love it. Car rides are lots of fun too.If it sounds like I would fit into your family, then fill in the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Lots of love, Buddy To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. Story
Goose is an adorable 6 month old male pup who came to us from Yakima. He's a Border Collie Cattle Dog mix, so if you love the herding breeds, Goose might be the perfect pup for you. He sleeps and eats in his crate and is fully potty trained. Right now he's being fostered in a home with older dogs and doing great, even though they don't have the play energy he does. :) Goose gets very attached to his person and loves to be with that person, but goes into his crate with ease when breaks are needed. His herding instinct can come out around small humans and their quick movements, so he will probably do best in a home with teens and without cats. He is super playful and fun in a fenced back yard, and he is learning how to enjoy walks. All the big city noises take some getting used to, but with a patient, loving adopter, we have no doubt that Goose will be a great companion and family member who will love going on outdoor adventures. Please email us at rhas.adoptions@gmail.com if you would like to meet him. And please be patient. We have one adoption coordinator doing their best to coordinate adoptions for many pups. ================================================= WE DO NOT RESPOND TO AdoptaPet INQUIRIES OR PHONE CALLS, ONLY EMAILS. If you have any additional questions, or would like to adopt Goose, please send us an email at rhas.adoptions@gmail.com and we will send you an adopter survey. Please note that we are a foster to adopt only rescue. As a foster, you get to "test drive" your chosen dog to make sure it's a good fit prior to adoption. We want you and the dog to have the best fit possible! Resilient Hearts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal rescue in Seattle, WA. 100% of adoption fees go towards helping us save more high-risk animals, and unite them with their forever families in the PNW! Story
Ranger is a good dog with a lot of energy. He should have a large fenced yard to exercise in. Ranger is good with children and good with people once he gets to know them. He will chase cats and other animals. Ranger likes to be close to the people he loves. Ranger does get car sick and anxious around new people and new animals. Ranger is not a dog who enjoys going to public places, hiking, or dog parks. Ranger is the perfect dog for someone who wants a dog who loves to stay home, enjoys freedom outside, and then loves to curl up at the end of the day next to his person.

Story
HI - I'M ZOE! I'm a beautiful and shy 2-year-old female Border Collie mix in need of a foster or forever home. I was rescued from a California shelter, where I was impounded as a stray. I am a shy and timid girl, but once I warm up to you I will be your best friend. I would do best with an active person or people who can take me for walks, hikes, beach outings and other adventures. I weigh only 43 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Meet Bada🩵 (It means sea in Korean) At the end of June 2022, Bada was admitted to the shelter with a fractured front leg. Bandaged in the hot weather, his wound attracted flies, and upon examination after rescue, his bones were misaligned, requiring a second surgery. Now, his bones have healed well, and he is happily running around without any issues. 😊 * Interaction with People : Bada is extremely fond of people. He's a sweetheart to humans, always greeting them with a big smile, which is so adorable. ❤ * Interaction with Dogs: He can be assertive towards dogs who play rough, so caution is needed. Tends to avoid encountering dogs with whom he had a clash at the Center. * Potty Training: He's been doing outdoor potty at the Center. * Hygiene: He's cooperative with ear cleaning and doesn't resist. However, he might whine when getting his nails trimmed as he's not used to it, so regular walks to grind his nails are necessary. * Walking: He follows people without pulling on the leash. Sometimes, he may resist going where he doesn't want to, but with leash training, he'll likely improve quickly. * Car Sickness: He's fine in the car and doesn't experience motion sickness at all! 💌Special Notes💌 * Separation anxiety and toilet training are still unknown as he's been living in a group at the center. * He rarely barks unnecessarily, but sometimes, he may bark alertly at external noises. He stops when called. * Bada enjoys being with people and receiving love while resting, so a place where he can receive undivided attention would be ideal. ☺️ He also enjoys his alone time when needed!
