He is a little over a year old (DOB 1/9/25); weighs approx. 50#; and we believe he is a Border Collie Mix. Overall, he looks Border Collie but he is larger than most…yet he is a male. This is our best guess. Max loves to get out and go, go, go. He would be great for long hikes, running, and swimming. He does need some training…but he learns fast. The Border Collie is deemed the smartest dog breed and that’s why a dog like this needs a purpose. He is not good with cats but he does like other dogs. He sees people as his next opportunity to get attention and a treat. Older children would be fine…but not little ones mostly due to his size and lack of training. He really is a beautiful dog. He is not housetrained but he’s not a leg lifter. We have had him in the house some and he was enthused to be around the other dogs and get attention. Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is okay with small dogs but maybe no dog under 20lbs until proper intros are made - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? She got out of the gate once and was fine with the goat and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots.
