Story
Lucky is a very sweet boy who is still getting used to life in general. If you are looking for an outgoing and confident pup ready to take on the world, Lucky is not going to be your dog. If you are looking for a gentle, playful, easy-going and loving pup, Lucky might be your dog. Lucky just needs someone who has the time and patience to develop his confidence and mold him into the great dog that he will be. Lucky is about 7 months old and had only ever been an outside dog until he came to us; he presently prefers to be outside. He is most content to explore the backyard and be out with everyone as they do chores and yard work. He can come to his name and sit. He seems to really enjoy following the lead of and playing with confident dogs. He has gone on a few short walks alongside his foster’s dog and loves sniffing and exploring. He has been good with cats and reported to be good with horses. He takes time and multiple slow interactions to warm up to new people, but is super snuggly, appreciative, attention seeking, and loving once he does. Lucky currently sleeps in a crate just inside the foster’s backdoor. He has access to explore the house but has shown no interest in that so far. He goes to the bathroom outside, but due to not coming into the house (so far and by choice) there has been no opportunity to know how well that will translate to being fully potty trained. Lucky has been making great progress as he gets used to his surroundings and people in the home. Initially, he will sit back, observe, and sniff from a distance in his new surroundings. When he gets nervous, goes into his crate or hides in the bushes around the yard. He will pee submissively, both when he is nervous and when he is happy. This has improved as he has become more comfortable with his new surroundings. Experience with timid dogs or willingness to do some professional training will be helpful. He has been most responsive to a predictable routine, a quieter household, giving him some space and time to take things in, and confident, positive leadership. Lucky is reported to be a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix and presently weighs about 30 pounds. He was born on November 13, 2025. Lucky is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. He is being fostered in Hood River, Oregon and his adoption fee is $400. If you are pre-approved and interested in adopting Lucky, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. Story
Miguel is my best friend and I am heartbroken to say goodbye to him. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old and he is now 5 years old. He LOVES to cuddle, is great with children but gets overly excited during crazy play time so sometimes needs to be put inside during outside play/dancing/crazy times. He alert barks when new people enter the home, which can be startling for those that don't know dogs but his tail wags the whole time and he would never and has never hurt another human or animal. He is not aggressive he just takes 30 seconds to adjust to new people. Likes cats but cats don't always like him because he's so curious. He has lived with them before though. Loves small and older dogs. Can be great with any dogs, again just can take time for them to figure out their dynamics. Needs some work on leash training but not horrible, just gets overly excited when seeing other dogs on walks but getting better at not being reactionary with lots of good treats. *LOVES* balls and fetch.

Story
Lucky&Mojo were rescued&are currently being rehabilitated before adoption. Lucky warmed up quickly&learned leash walking fast. He is vocal, dislikes being kenneled,&still needs work on house manners&potty training. He is sweet but does not get along with other dogs&will require a home with absolutely no other dogs besides Mojo. He is fearful in the car but does not get carsick. Mojo arrived extremely fearful—unable to be leashed, approached, or taken outside to potty,&would nip if cornered. He also experienced severe carsickness. He has improved greatly&now allows leashing and petting, but still has low confidence, struggles with new situations,&relies heavily on Lucky for comfort. Both dogs came with ticks(now treated)and are wearing Seresto collars. They will only be adopted to an experienced adult-only, patient home with references, background checks,&a safety plan for Mojo. They must stay together&be the only dogs in the home. Adoption includes a training package. Contract Reqd!

Story
Meet Piper – Your Loyal, Playful Companion! Piper is a 1.5-year-old, 65-pound sweetheart living in Portland, OR. With a calm, playful personality and a heart full of love, she’s happiest when she’s near her people—with a toy in her mouth and a smile on her face. She’s affectionate, confident, and friendly with both people and animals. Piper does great with cats, most dogs, and even livestock (though chickens may need supervision). She loves playing with dog friends, and while she’s still learning how to manage her excitement on leash, she’s making great progress. Piper is house-trained, not destructive, and enjoys car rides, swimming, and outdoor adventures. She’s food-motivated, knows basic commands, and is working on her leash manners. She gives the best welcome-home hugs—standing on her back legs to nuzzle your face like she missed you all day. Her ideal home? A calm environment with someone home most of the time, maybe with another dog and room to roam. She’d thrive with an outdoorsy person or couple who’ll take her hiking or swimming. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key adventure buddy with a heart of gold, Piper is ready to be your new best friend.

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. Maverick male Border Collie puppy, DOB 1/21/26. He is “lazy” and laid back… much unlike most Border Collies. The “mix” in him must be predominant. He enjoys playing with all dogs. He loves playing with the other 6 dogs varying in size and age. Maverick has a sweet demeanor and sometimes just likes to see the rest of the gang play. Maverick weighs about 21# and we estimate he will get to be about 45# when grown. He is crate trained; knows how to use the doggy door; doesn’t bark… only howls when he sees an airplane! 😊 He’s very laid back…sometimes called a couch potato! 😊 He enjoys car rides; easily walks on the leash; adapts to most any situation without anxiety. When he sees a cat, he is not reactive. He also is learning to do some tricks like shake hands. Maverick will be a great family pet. He’s smart; laid back; happy; playful…you couldn’t ask for a better dog. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." Story
Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is okay with small dogs but maybe no dog under 20lbs until proper intros are made - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? She got out of the gate once and was fine with the goat and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots. Lulu is a really sweet dog and wants a home of her own. please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note Lulu is located in San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to your location through Your Tx Rescue Connection transport service. The fee includes adoption fee and transportation fee.

Julio was found as a 6 week old puppy on the roadside. He has been a perfect gentleman in the house and has been raised by the old timers and seniors who have taught him proper manners. He loves to play with Bruce and Lulu, has learned to play in the kiddy pools, and is fully house trained. He is mixed with shepherd, hound, red heeler best guess. He likes some snuggles, sleeps under the bed or the coffee table. he's quiet and overall just the best puppy ever. he will make a great family dog. apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note all dogs are located in San Antonio, TX. We advertise out of state due to the critical pet overpopulation problem here in the south. We use Your Texas Rescue Connection to transport the dogs to your area.
