Story
This love bug is Oreo. Oreo is 4 years old, 44 lbs, and a Boxer/Lab mix. 3.5 years ago was the best day of her life when she got adopted into a wonderful home. She became house-trained, crate trained, trustworthy free roam, and she was loved beyond measure. Unfortunately, Oreo’s family is moving abroad and she doesn’t get to go with them, landing her in great need once again. Oreo is good with kiddos, most other dogs, and enjoys playing with cats! She has through the month of November before she will be homeless once again. Don’t let this girl pass you by, she’s a family dog and she belongs in a home. Oreo is in foster in Colorado Springs, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Sade is a high energy German Shepherd, Boxer mix. She gets along with other dogs but needs to be supervised at first because she can be a bit annoying to other dogs with her play style. She gets along with cats, horses, donkeys, and smaller animals like chickens with supervision. She has not been to the vet in a year. She has some issues gaining weight which may be caused by eating a battery before we adopted her. We are rehoming her because we are not giving her the time she needs and deserves.

Say hello to Delta, a super playful and affectionate female puppy bursting with energy! She’s quick to warm up to new people, bonding almost instantly with her foster family and our male dog sitter. Delta’s outgoing and friendly personality shines through, and she gets along great with other dogs and pets, especially her medium-sized doggy pal. While she’s a bit nervous on a leash and needs some training, her potty training is already on point! Delta loves to play and cuddle, making her a true lap dog and love bug. She’s very close to her sister and would thrive in an active home with a medium to large dog to keep her company if not adopted together. Ready for a fun, loving companion? Come meet Delta on Saturday! ##2542872##

Story
Meet Dixie: Your Future Furry Best Friend!  Dixie is a delightful female puppy with a heart full of love and a playful spirit! This outgoing and friendly girl has a high energy level, making her the perfect companion for an active household. Dixie bonds quickly with new people, instantly winning over her foster family and even our male dog sitter. She’s a true love bug and lap dog, always ready to cuddle up after a fun play session. Dixie gets along wonderfully with other dogs, especially her medium-sized playmate, and would thrive in a home with a medium to large dog if not adopted with her sister, whom she adores. She’s already doing great with potty training, but leash training is a work in progress—she’s a bit nervous on a leash and will need patient guidance to build her confidence. Her comfort with children, cats, and other pets is still unknown, but her friendly nature suggests she’ll adapt well with proper introductions. Dixie would shine in a lively, dog-friendly home where she can play, run, and snuggle to her heart’s content. If you’re looking for a loving, energetic companion who brings joy to every moment, come meet Dixie on Saturday! ##2542870##

Story
Topper...seriously one of the sweetest, calmest, most submissive dogs I have ever met. He doesn't bark, he is not hyper, he loves to cuddle, he is submissive with other dogs and never shows any aggression even if a dog is trying to be dominant with him, and is living with cats and kittens. He was picked up by animal control with a large gash on his neck. The shelter fixed him up but then he ran out of time and was placed on the euthanasia list. I am so glad I got him out because he is the best. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Meet Curtis, a gentle and charming pitty mix with a heart full of love. Curtis was abandoned at a dump site in New Mexico, and despite everything he has been through, he has done amazing since being rescued by Soul Dog Rescue. He greets everyone he meets with a happy wag of his tail and shines with kindness.Because of his past of abandonment and limited resources, Curtis does best as the only pet in the home. He enjoys short walks, relaxing in the sun, and playing at the sniff spot. Curtis travels great in the car, loves spending time with his people, and is always ready for affection.Take this happy, sweet boy home and show him what true love feels like. Curtis is patient, loving, low energy, and just waiting to share his heart with the family who will cherish him forever.Come meet him at the shelter and see his sweet spirit for yourself!

Story
Watch her video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Z71ZM9HDOZw Salvation was seized as a cruelty case. She was being kept in a small cage 24/7 and almost starved to death. The person who reported the owner wanted to adopt her after she got better but the previous owner knew them and threatened them. I took her into my rescue and she is the absolute sweetest thing ever despite what she has been through. All she wants is to be loved on. She is great with other dogs even when they are annoying and she is great with cats too. She walks well on the leash and despite her bad experience with crates she does well in them. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well.
