A combination of several mastiff breeds as well as boxer, rottweiler and german shepherd - Nino does not mess around about his property and people. Nino has worked hard over the last 8 months on seeing strangers at a distance without feeling defensive but he does need continued support and the right environment to call home. He cuddles well and likes affection. Nino also likes to run around the house with your socks and shoes, but doesn’t chew them up. He just likes to carry things. He is dog friendly with males and females - even has an 8lb best friend. Nino loves to play tug of war with people and play with the other dogs in the house, and otherwise will lay and chew a bone or sunbathe. Story
Meet Hannibal, a gentle 40-pound soul who is looking for a quiet place to finally let his guard down. Hannibal is the ultimate "work-from-home" companion; he is incredibly low-energy indoors and loves nothing more than curling up at your feet while you work. While he can be a bit shy at first, once he feels safe, you’ll be rewarded with his adorable tail wags and a deeply loyal presence. He is a "dog’s dog" who truly shines when he has a larger canine sibling to look up to—having a buddy seems to give him the confidence he needs to relax and feel at home. Because Hannibal has a sensitive heart and a bit of a curious streak, he’s looking for a specific kind of environment where he can thrive. He’d be happiest in a home without small pets, as he prefers the company of friends his own size. While he enjoys his outdoor time, he’s a bit of an explorer, so a secure 6-foot fence and a family that enjoys supervised yard play would be perfect for him. Hannibal is still learning that the world is a kind place, so he’s looking for a patient adopter who understands that he might need a little extra time and a slow introduction to settle in. If you have a stable home and a friendly dog looking for a calm brother, Hannibal is ready to be your new best friend.

She loves to "people-watch" with great interest and keeps a very keen eye on the local wildlife. She has a spirited interest in squirrels, so she’ll definitely keep you active and engaged during your outdoor time! What are you waiting for? Apply today! Click here to apply for the pet Meet this delightful girl who brings a splash of joy and a sprinkle of silliness to everyone she meets! 🌟 Energetic and sweet, she’s the perfect companion for those with active lifestyles. If you love spending time outdoors, she's going to be your new best friend! Whether it’s running around the backyard, playing an exhilarating game of fetch, or joining you on a nice walks, she’s ready for it all! Now, while she’s busy winning hearts, she can be a little shy around other dogs, especially in those bustling dog parks. She prefers the calm of a cozy walk around the perimeter, where she can soak up some socialization without too much pressure. At home, though, she thrives alongside her foster sister, Darla. These two are practically partners in crime, playing and running together all day long! 🐶✨ She does best with playmates around the same size as her and we do not recommend small dogs. But guess what? She’s got a special bond with her feline friend! Yes, you heard that right—they even enjoy snoozing together. How cute is that? Because she's a bundle of energy, older children are recommended; let’s just say she might accidentally tip over a little one with all her enthusiastic greetings! But with a touch of dedication, she can definitely be trained to be gentle. When it comes to her human pack, she’s all about the love! Expect loving tail wags, belly rubs, and plenty of joy when you walk through the door. She’s also a budding guard dog—alerting you to any strangers while you work on her “no bark” command, which she’s picking up like a pro! Just give her some space to warm up to new faces, and she’ll win them over in no time. ❤️ This sweet girl is housebroken and crate trained, plus she adores car rides! 🚗 She’s great with dogs her own size for one-on-one playdates but prefers to steer clear of crowded dog parks. And did we mention her lovely relationship with cats? She can be shy initially, but she just needs a little time to blossom into her beautiful self! To give this lovable pup the family she deserves, don't wait! Apply today through the Buddy App! Your next best friend is just a click away! What are you waiting for? Apply today! Story
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Click here to apply for the pet About Remy: • Happy, affectionate, and loves to cuddle • Playful—enjoys running, dog parks, tug-of-war, and chewing sturdy toys • Potty trained + crate trained • Sleeps in bed with his person • Up to date on vaccines + monthly heartworm prevention What to know: Remy does have anxiety and likes to feel in charge of his environment. He can be an alarm barker and has had some conflicts in the past with his brother (who has since been rehomed). He is currently the only dog in the home and has been doing well. He takes 20 mg of Prozac daily, which has made a big positive difference—he’s well-adjusted and stable on his medication. Remy would do best: • In an active home that includes him in daily life • As the only dog, or possibly with a dog of similar temperament • In a home without small children • Likely without cats He can be friendly with people but is sometimes nervous, especially with new situations or energy levels he’s unsure about. Because of this, we think he’d do best in a home that understands and respects his boundaries. A few Remy quirks: • Gets cold easily (he has a very thin coat—sweaters/pajamas help!) • Afraid of storms, fireworks, and vacuums • Loves affection, but prefers his “smooshing” time without other dogs around Due to major life changes, his family is heartbreakingly looking for a new home for Remy. This is not a decision they take lightly, they just want him to have the stable, loving environment he deserves. What are you waiting for? Apply today! Click here to apply for the pet

Story
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Click here to apply for the pet Linus is about 2-years-old and 45 lbs. Up to date on everything. He is a very good boy and very smart. Linus was found locked in a crate in an abandoned home. Poor boy was skin and bones, covered in urine and feces. He has made a full recovery, but with that kind of trauma comes trust issues. Linus does NOT like people greeting him. He needs people to give him space, feed him some treats and build trust first. Linus needs a home where they understand that he has stranger danger and to NOT let people approach. The report from the shelter: Like the gentle, kindhearted Peanuts character he’s named after, Linus is thoughtful, sensitive, and truly good at heart — he just needs someone to believe in him. ✨ Linus’ Best Qualities (because there are so many): • Walks nicely on a leash — thoughtful, not chaotic • Gentle treat taker — soft soul, soft mouth • Moderate energy — not a wild Charlie Brown football scene • Very dog-friendly — he LOVES dog friends and they help him feel brave 🏠 Linus is searching for: A home that can offer patience, consistency, love, and guidance. Somewhere he can exhale, settle, and remember that the world can be kind. If you’ve ever loved an underdog… If you’ve ever believed in second chances… If you’ve ever cheered for Charlie Brown when the world seemed unfair… FREE TRAINING IS INCLUDED for any foster or adopter. For questions, please reach out at rescuers@spencerpetrescue.info or fill out our application at spencerpetrescue.info/application. His fee is $150 What are you waiting for? Apply today!
