I was adopted when I was a young pup but somehow ended up on the streets with no place to call home. I'm shy to new people but warm up with some treats. Once we're friends, I'm the sweetest girl. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). Her DOB is 12/14/23 and she weighs approx 45 lbs at 10 months old. Miesler is black with highlight of white on her body and her adorable brindle legs! She will be a perfect medium size dog when full grown. She is initially shy but very affectionate once she settles in which has not taken long at all in her foster home. Requires 6ft fenced yard and be only dog (at least initially) as he is dog selective. Beau is a 5-year-old pitbull/hound dog mix. He is around 80 pounds . He previously lived in an apartment with his family (including a 2-year-old child and a smaller dog) but they wanted him to have a chance to be more active. He currently lives with his foster mom and another large female dog. Beau is a very happy boy that loves to play ball and loves treats! He rides well in the car. He behaves well going to the vet or to get a bath. He knows simple commands (sit, stay, lay down, wait) and goes in his crate easily when asked. He is food motivated and trains easily. He is happy to sleep on the couch or in bed with you. He is very affectionate and loves to snug. He does well with children. He is very happy to sleep in bed with you or on the couch. He currently lives with a dog that he gets along with perfectly, but we are limiting him to be an only dog (at least initially) upon adoption. He will need a fenced yard, preferably higher than 4 feet, so he can be active as he loves to play ball and run around and sniff. He is the sweetest boy and has SO much love to give.
