We immediately fell in love with Henry when we met him when he was 10 weeks old. He is now 2 1/2 and is a beautiful and loyal dog. He does need some training when he is walking and encounters other dogs. Other than that, he is a wonderful family member. We have been displaced due to the tornado, and life has been very challenging. There is no way we can care for him since we currently don’t have a home. Yes, he is spoiled. Yes, he is loved. He just needs space to run and wants to interact with people and other dogs. We love him dearly, and this is a very decision to make. All we want is for him to be in a home where he is loved and gets attention and has the ability to exercise and run.

Hey there, I’m Susie! I’m a 4-year-old Bully mix with that classic look — chonky, short, and strong! Right now, I’m hanging out in a foster home where I’ve been learning all sorts of good manners. I even graduated from a 7-week basic obedience class (I’m pretty proud of that!) and my awesome foster keeps helping me learn new things every day so I can be the best doggo I can be. I’ve got a big personality — loving, loyal, and just the right amount of sassy. I’m not a fan of cats, and I can be a bit particular about other dogs, so I’d probably do best as your one and only pet. But trust me, I’ve got enough love to fill your whole home! If you’re looking for a sweet, spunky girl who’s ready to make you smile every day, I think we’d be a perfect match! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! Hi! My name is Raspberry Beret! I'm a 2 year old, happy-go-lucky Pitbull mix. My foster Mom tells me I'm a shy but sweet, eager to please girl that loves to PLAY, so I NEED another large active dog in my new home! I also love playing with toys and chewing on nylabones, but I REALLY love running through the back yard. I get along with my 4-legged foster siblings, and I would do best with a submissive, tolerant male dog that really enjoys playing. I really need a similar size very active dog in the home. Due to my activity level, I'm too much for a smaller dog. I'm a young lady with a LOT of energy to burn and need a back yard in my forever home or a very active person that likes to walk or hike on a regular basis. And I can jump really high so a 6 foot fence would be ideal. I'm also potty trained and after a day of play I do good in my crate at night and actually prefer to sleep in the crate, keeps me out of trouble. Did I mention that I love to play!?! Eichel, is a very handsome boy! He is a young Aussie / Shepherd / Boxer mix, about 70#. He loves to play and eat and he’s very well mannered. He loves his people, but would also love to have an active furry friend. His favorite time of the day is EVERY morning. He would love to spend his mornings with his new forever family.
