Story
I adopted Hachi at a shelter when he was just a puppy. Hachi is now 3 (turning 4 in November). Hachi is a very energetic pup! He is always ready to play a game of tug or even fetching. He would do well in an active home to keep up with his play. Inside the house, he is definitely a couch potato. He loves to have his own space, we currently have a kennel for him (he likes sleeping here) but he also enjoys a window spot on the couch. Hachi is very well behaved at home, he will not touch furniture unless told it’s okay. He’s a very intelligent pup and learns house rules quickly. Hachi would also benefit from an owner who has experience with dogs to continue his training. Hachi is potty trained and knows many of the basic commands but would benefits from continuing his reactivity training. He gets along well with older kids and people in general but needs reactivity training to be around other animals. Hachi is a sweet dog, he loves scratches, cuddles or really any type of affection.

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: Yes, dog-savvy catsGood with kids: Older children only (13+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesZaria is an affectionate, and loyal girl with a real zest for life. She is a medium energy dog who enjoys a play session, followed by a nap. She benefits from slow introductions to other dogs. She would also be fine as an only dog. Zaria happily entertains herself with toys or a romp in the backyard. She has lived with cats and has for the most part ignored their presence. Zaria loves her people and enjoys making new human friends. She can be an enthusiastic greeter and sometimes forgets her size, so older dog-savvy children would be best for her. Zaria enjoys going for walks around the neighborhood and looks to her humans for reassurance and guidance in new situations. Zaria is an intelligent girl and very eager to please. She knows a plethora of commands, and loves to learn new things every day. She is fully house trained and crate trained. Zaria enjoys relaxing in her crate throughout the day and sleeps soundly in it overnight. She is looking for an experienced and patient adopter who will continue to provide her with structure and routine so she can continue to be her best self. Are you the lucky family who gets to add Zaria to your bunch?*Zaria is part of our Foster to Adopt (FTA) program for prescription food.*Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. Ozzy’s energy level is right in that sweet spot: he enjoys bursts of play, walks, or running around the yard, but he’s equally happy to settle down and relax afterward. He absolutely loves other dogs and is usually ready to jump right into playtime. Ozzy is also fantastic with kids and would be thrilled to have some little humans to run around and play with. He is a big excitable guy so he would do well with dog savvy kids that can understand his excitement. While he hasn’t officially met any cats yet, his friendly nature suggests he may do just fine with a proper introduction. At home, Ozzy is all about the good life - think tasty treats, favorite toys, and plenty of cozy couch naps. He’s both house-trained and crate-trained (he can comfortably hang out in his crate for a few hours during the day), which makes him a smooth addition to just about any household. While he has had limited exposure to new environments, Ozzy has done well so far and just needs a bit more experience to continue building his confidence. With a loving family by his side, he’ll thrive in no time.Sweet, silly, and oh-so-cute, Ozzy is ready to find his forever home. Story
Meet ZANDER!Zander is a handsome 3-year-old Boxer mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. One of his favorite pastimes is rolling around in the grass, and he`s always happy to spend time playing with his beloved stuffed toys. Zander is an absolute volunteer favorite at the shelter, and it`s easy to see why! He`s incredibly affectionate, always excited to head out for a walk or enjoy some playtime, and is just as happy to soak up plenty of pets and love afterward. Zander is a lover through and through and loves to give his friends kisses! In the home, Zander has proven to be a wonderful companion who loves being involved in whatever his people are doing. Whether you`re relaxing on the couch for a movie night, working around the house, or cooking dinner, he`ll happily be by your side offering his loyal supervision. He also enjoys car rides and is a great passenger, making him an excellent companion for errands, road trips, and other adventures. Zander is food-motivated, loves treats, and is eager to learn, making him a joy to train! He already knows sit, down, and paw, and has all the potential to soak up whatever else he is taught.Zander previously lived successfully with three other dogs and enjoyed having canine companions around. Because of his history, we think he may do well with a compatible canine friend in his future home. He has been introduced successfully to several other dogs here at the shelter and has thoroughly enjoyed doggy playdates. Zander is looking for a family who will give him time to settle in, build his confidence, and help him adjust to his new life at his own pace. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, Zander has all the potential to flourish in the right home.In return, you`ll gain a loyal best friend who will happily join you on adventures, keep you company through everyday life, and remind you just how special the bond between a dog and his people can be.

Story
Meet Hope — a beautiful Boxer girl who has already overcome so much and is finally ready for the happy ending she deserves. ❤️Hope is a 7-year-old purebred Boxer, but please don’t let that number fool you. This girl has the heart, energy, and playful spirit of a much younger Boxer. She bounces, prances, dances, and barrels through life with a zest that is impossible not to smile at. She is the kind of dog whose happiness is contagious.Hope came to Critter Cavalry Rescue during a heartbreaking time. Her beloved owner became critically ill and was ultimately unable to care for her, and when Hope came into rescue, she weighed only 35 pounds and was painfully underweight. Her owner’s greatest wish was that she would be given the best life possible, and that is exactly the promise we made to him.Today, Hope is a healthy 46 pounds and absolutely thriving in her foster home. She is currently living with several other Boxers and has fit right in as though she has always been part of the crew. She is wonderfully social and genuinely enjoys making friends. Dogs, children, adults — if you are willing to be her friend, Hope is ready to love you!Hope is also a very good girl in the house. She is completely potty trained, knows her basic commands, and is so well mannered that she does not need to be crated when left home alone. She is easygoing, affectionate, and responds well to gentle guidance. But what really makes Hope special is her spirit. She has been through a major life change, yet she has come through it with her joyful personality completely intact. She still believes the world is a wonderful place and that every day is an opportunity to play, explore, and love someone new.Hope would love an active Boxer-loving family who will give her plenty of playtime, attention, and opportunities to enjoy life. Another dog who appreciates a playful companion would be wonderful, especially one who doesn’t mind her endless Boxer enthusiasm!Hope has spent enough time waiting for her tomorrow. Now she needs the forever family who will give her the bright future her name promises. She is fully vetted, microchipped, thriving, and ready to make the next chapter of her life the very best one yet.If you think Hope could be the joyful, energetic Boxer girl your family has been waiting for, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 12, 2026, 2:32 pm

Story
Ruthie is a 2-year-old, 60-lb Boxer mix with a gentle soul and a brilliant mind. Before coming into rescue, Ruthie lived on her own for at least 6 months, skillfully evading capture, multiple trapping attempts, and surviving in an industrial area of town. Fed by kind mechanics and workers, she learned how to stay safe, avoid danger, and always show up for food — and that intelligence still shines through today. After a dramatic capture, Ruthie has been in a foster home, where she’s proven to be a very polite houseguest. She is fully house-trained and, even at her scariest moments, has never shown a hint of aggression — no growling, no raised lips, just fear. Ruthie is shy and deeply cautious with people, but she is sweet, gentle, and incredibly observant. We would not be surprised if Ruthie spent some of her life in someone’s home.  This brainy girl reads the room like a pro. She knows when a human might approach and will quietly skedaddle to keep herself feeling safe. While she’s still very nervous about leashes and handling, she allows most people to gently scratch her muzzle, and she’s learning — slowly but surely — that human touch isn’t such a bad thing. Watching her progress has been incredibly rewarding, especially as she’s started to enjoy ear scratches and soft affection from her foster mom. Ruthie is a great pack dog. She does beautifully with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and enjoys playful wrestling with dogs her size, but doesn’t demand play.  She happily coexists with the resident Chihuahua in her foster home. Ruthie is calm and content indoors and also enjoys a daily visit to the dog park. She’s a quiet presence who’s perfectly happy lounging on a chair, listening to her foster mom’s Zoom calls, and soaking in the safety of home life. At home, Ruthie is her foster mom’s quiet shadow. She sleeps in her room, wiggles with excitement when she comes home, follows her around the dog park — and yet may still hop off her bed and slip away if that same foster mom walks toward her for a pet. With Ruthie, trust is built in tiny, meaningful moments, and every day brings progress. Because of her history, Ruthie is a high flight-risk dog, especially in the early days. She will need a very committed adopter with a securely fenced yard, experience with fearful or flight-risk dogs, and a willingness to use safety tools like GPS collars, double leashes, and secure handling. Strength matters too — this is a 60-lb girl who needs someone confident and prepared. Ruthie has been around children at the dog park and treats them like little adults — with polite, reserved hesitation. She is food-motivated, sweet, and incredibly smart. With patience, structure, and time, she has all the makings of a truly special companion. Ruthie is one of those dogs who, with the right adopter and a few committed months of trust-building, will become a dream dog. Watching her finally relax, feel safe, and just be a dog has been an absolute privilege — and we can’t wait to see her find the forever home she deserves. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.September 12, 2026, 2:32 pm
