Story
Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: Yes, dog savvy catsGood with kids: Older children only (13+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesZaria is an affectionate, and loyal girl with a real zest for life. She is a medium energy dog who enjoys a play session, followed by a nap. She benefits from slow introductions to other dogs. She would also be fine as an only dog. Zaria happily entertains herself with toys or a romp in the backyard. She has lived with cats and has for the most part ignored their presence. Zaria loves her people and enjoys making new human friends. She can be an enthusiastic greeter and sometimes forgets her size, so older dog-savvy children would be best for her. Zaria enjoys going for walks around the neighborhood and looks to her humans for reassurance and guidance in new situations. Zaria is an intelligent girl and very eager to please. She knows a plethora of commands, and loves to learn new things every day. She is fully house trained and crate trained. Zaria enjoys relaxing in her crate throughout the day and sleeps soundly in it overnight. She is looking for an experienced and patient adopter who will continue to provide her with structure and routine so she can continue to be her best self. Are you the lucky family who gets to add Zaria to your bunch? Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org.May 15, 2025, 1:42 am

Story
**Kipper's adoption fee has been generously sponsored** Meet Kipper 💛 At 12 years young, this handsome senior is the perfect mix of calm and silly. His foster describes him as easygoing, adaptable, and happiest just being with you. He’s gentle, affectionate, and loves people and new friends - whether that means joining you on a walk, curling up for a couch snuggle, or keeping you company while you work. Kipper is housetrained, crate trained, and knows all the basics (sit, down, paw, place, off, rollover)—and he’s still learning! Whoever said old dogs can’t learn new tricks has clearly never met this boy. He travels well in the car and is always up for a daily woods walk, a neighborhood stroll, or a burst of zoomies in the yard. Stuffed toys are his favorite, and he’ll happily toss them around before settling in at your side. At night, Kipper is easygoing - he sleeps soundly through the night in his bed. Kipper is looking for a cat-free home, but he has enjoyed the company of other dogs and may do well with a well-matched sibling—or happily as a solo pet. He’s enjoyed walking with doggy pals in the past. Could Kipper be the senior sidekick you’ve been searching for? **Kipper's adoption fee has been generously sponsored**

Meet Our Mississippi 8!Eight beautiful Boxer/Pit Bull Terrier mix puppies are headed our way from Hernando, Mississippi — and trust us, they’re absolute gems. These babies have been in the local shelter since they were tiny, yet somehow had zero interest. Locals must be missing out, because these pups are stunning. At 4 months old, they’ve already completed all their puppy vaccines, including rabies. The only thing left (once they reach 6 months) is their spay/neuter — and we’ll even help with that cost. These pups come with classic puppy energy: curious, playful, occasionally mouthy, and ready to learn. Training should start right away to set them up for success, support socialization, and build a strong bond with their new person. They arrive in New England on 11/22 and will be placed in various foster homes throughout the region. If you’re able to choose just one (somehow!), get that application in quickly — they won’t last long. Before You Apply – Please Read:Puppies require time and patience.✔ They can’t be left alone all day — 4 hours max until they’re at least 6 months old.✔ Kids should be ready for a real, wiggly, sometimes-nippy baby who needs gentle handling and structure. If you’re ready for all that puppy life brings, these cuties are waiting!Breed: Boxer/Pit Bull TerrierAge: 18 weeks as of 12/4Weight: Average weight is 25 lbs as of 11/10Spayed/Neutered: Too young — spay/neuter contract required and strictly enforcedVaccinations: All puppy vaccines completed, including rabiesHeartworm: Too young for testing (done at 6 months)Housetrained: Not usually at this ageMicrochipped: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: Yes - as puppies should be able to help them interact peacefully with cats.Adoption Fee: $500Location of dog currently:   New England IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Arrives to Connecticut 9-27-2025Rin is a petite brindle beauty, about 1 year old, with a massive zest for life packed into her small pittie frame. She’s sweet, playful, and fast on her feet—especially when there’s a tennis ball involved! Fetch is her absolute favorite game, and she’ll happily chase after the ball as long as you throw it.This high-energy girl is still very puppyish in her behavior, despite paperwork suggesting she’s closer to 2. Luckily, she settles well in her crate after playtime and loves nothing more than being close to her people. Rin’s love language is touch—she wants to climb into your lap, wrap herself around you, and soak up every ounce of affection.Rin is incredibly social with humans and wants to meet every person she sees. With other dogs, however, she’s still learning her manners. She can be a bit too pushy and insistent, which has led to some altercations with tolerant males she’s been introduced to. With training, structure, and patience, Rin has excellent potential to mature into a more respectful playmate. For now, she may do best as your one-and-only pup while she learns. She is spending two weeks at Gagnon's Pet Resort where she'll learn more about how to be the best dog she can be!!This gal is very smart and she already knows several basic commands. Check these out in this video:https://youtube.com/shorts/mnnSy7AHaEoIf you’re looking for a fun, loving, athletic companion who will make you laugh and keep you moving, Rin is your girl!Name: RinBreed: Boxer/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 47.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Loves all people she meets, not specifically tested with childrenGood with Dogs: Yes, but needs to learn social cues - she's an "in your face" puppy.Good with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00 Location of dog currently:   Connecticut  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England. Meet Sarabi – One of Our Mississippi 8!Sarabi is one of eight stunning Boxer/Pit Bull Terrier puppies who traveled from Mississippi and is now stealing hearts in New England. Sarabi is the perfect blend of sweet and smart. She has classic puppy energy: curious, playful, occasionally mouthy, and eager to learn. She already knows “sit” and “leave it,” and she loves a challenge — she’s mastered three treat puzzles so far! Continued training and socialization will help her grow into a confident, well-mannered adult while strengthening the bond with her future family.Since arriving in New England on 11/22, Sarabi has been thriving in her foster home. She adores cuddling with her humans and enthusiastically plays with her older foster dog brother (even when he needs a little convincing). She is also currently living with a cat and has formed a calm, respectful relationship — complete with friendly nose bumpsbefore going their separate ways.Sarabi would do best in a home ready to embrace puppy life, continue her training, and provide plenty of love, structure, and enrichment. She would be a wonderful addition to a family committed to helping her reach her full potential.Watch Sarabi in action:https://youtube.com/shorts/A_WNNSGm0_4?feature=sharedBefore You Apply – Please Read:--Puppies require time, patience, and commitment.--Puppies should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time until they are at least 6months old--Children should be prepared for a wiggly, sometimes nippy baby who needs gentlehandling and structureIf you’re ready for everything puppy life brings, Sarabi is ready to meet you!Breed: Boxer / Pit Bull TerrierAge: 17 weeks as of 11/29Weight: Approx. 25 lbs as of 11/10Spayed/Neutered: Too young — spay contract required and strictly enforcedVaccinations: All puppy vaccines completed, including rabiesHeartworm: Too young for testing (will be tested at 6 months)House-trained: In progress and improving dailyMicrochipped: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500Current Location: New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
