Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks. She knows how to sit and she takes snacks very nicely.-She loves to curl up close for cuddles-She wasn’t interested in a tennis ball which seemed to scare her but she did perk up with a stuffie. She started pouncing around on it and played tug with me for a little bit. Initially most it came from nerves, but over time she was more relaxed and playful.-The furrowed brow and the quick, jerky movements show she’s still trying to figure it all out. The unknown can be scary sometimes!-She is a little skinny and food is her love language!She started off wanting to jump up for treats but proves to be a quick learner and picked up “sit” in record time! Must have a leash on outside, won’t bark in the house, but will bark outside. Not mean at all, loves people, friendly towards new people but again lots of energy. If you want an extremely affectionate dog that has plenty of energy this is the dog for you.
