Story
My Granddaughter left him behind and unfortunately I can't care for him. Bruce is a Great Dog, he loves to cuddle, play he is definitely family dog he loves people and kids. The only problem he has is that he love to jump he is a little hyper, I'm sure it will stop the more he gets older. Myself if I was younger I wouldn't be writing this I'm going on 70 years old and my Husband has Parkinson's Disease, we just can't care for him. Just so you know he is a Pit-Boxers he's a nice looking puppy. All I can say who ever take him are getting a Great Puppy Dog.

Boxer English Bulldog

Female, Adult
Detroit, MI
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks. If you are up for it, we can discuss. We cover all needed vet care. The adoption fee is $275. Please apply through our website: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
Royal King A18669438 lb. neutered male, approx 2 years old -This sweet boy was understandably nervous when he first stepped into the yard, trembling as he took in all the new sights and sounds. He quickly discovered that a lap and some reassurance made him feel much safer. After a few minutes of cuddles, his nerves settled and he began venturing out to explore on his own. Before long, he was coming right back to me and putting his paws up to ask for more attention.-He’s a skinny little guy who is very motivated by treats, which should make helping him learn his manners a lot of fun! He patiently sits for his snacks and was already making great progress with taking them more gently by the end of our time together. He’s receptive to learning and clearly wants to figure things out.-He isn’t interested in toys just yet, but he does enjoy affection and gives a few sweet kisses here and there. He also walks nicely with minimal pulling. Once he realized he was safe, we got to see more of his sweet personality come through. He’s a gentle boy who may just need a little patience, reassurance, and time to realize that the world isn’t so scary after all.-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
🐾 Meet Kali 🐾 Some dogs are easy to love at first sight. Others need someone willing to see past their fears and imperfections to discover the incredible dog underneath. Kali is one of those special dogs. She has been waiting a long time to find her home. Kali is a medium-sized girl with a one-of-a-kind look and an even more unforgettable personality. She’s goofy as all get out, loves to make you laugh, and has the sweetest heart once she knows she’s safe. Kali does have allergies, and during the warmer months she still tends to chew at her feet and can have the occasional upset tummy. She’ll need an adopter who understands that managing allergies is simply part of loving her. Because of her history, she isn’t a fan of having her feet handled, so patience and respect for her boundaries go a long way. She’s fully potty trained, crate trained, and loves the comfort of a routine. Kali can also be a bit of a scaredy-cat in new situations. She looks to her people for reassurance and needs someone who will let her move at her own pace instead of expecting her to be brave right away. The truth is, dogs like Kali are often overlooked because they’re not “easy.” But the people who take a chance on dogs like her know something special: watching a fearful dog learn to trust you is one of the most rewarding experiences there is. Kali wants to be the only dog in the home. Kali isn’t looking for a perfect family. She’s looking for her family—someone who will love her through the allergies, celebrate her goofy personality, and give her the patience she’s been waiting for. Could you be the person she’s been hoping for? ❤️🐾

Story
Graham here! 🐾🐶🤎 Graham is a gentle soul with the sweetest heart. This handsome boy has been through more than we’ll ever fully know, and while the world can still feel a little scary to him, he is learning every day that kindness exists! Graham may be shy at first. New places, loud noises, and unfamiliar faces can make him nervous. But give him a little time, a calm voice, and a patient heart, and you’ll see his beautiful personality start to shine. Once he feels safe, he leans in for cuddles and looks at you like you’re his whole world. He would do best in a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. A predictable routine and a cozy spot to call his own will help him blossom. Watching a scared dog gain confidence is one of the most rewarding journeys—and Graham is so worth it. If you believe that love is built on patience, gentleness, and small victories, Graham might just be your perfect match. He doesn’t need a perfect home—just a safe one. If you are interested in adopting Graham or any of our current fosters please visit our website to complete an application.
