Story
They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4+ year old mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. I’m such a good boy and I have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire but neither do most of my friends. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours! FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. My adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $225. If transport is needed, my adoption fee is $525 (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions). Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org! Checker is a handsome guy with a big personality. He is bursting with energy like any good boxer and would benefit from a fenced in yard. He needs some leash training to make walking him more enjoyable and would love to travel with you wherever you go. Need a hiking companion? Winnie is a sweet and affectionate girl. She would prefer to be the only dog in the house since she gets jealous when attention is given to another dog. Winnie enjoys being petted and fussed over and would love to get out for long walks and car rides. Hi spark is a loving affected dog, he love to be with his owner ( will follow you everywhere)😍. He loves children but can be a wiggle butt but knows how to apologize ( the cuteness things). He at time like to be left alone and will go sit in his cage until he is ready to be bothered. Around 9 pm is his bed time, anytime after 9 I let him be cause he like his rest. He love his alone time with his human parents outside of his human siblings. He love to say hi to everyone.

Story
Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks. If you are up for it, we can discuss. We cover all needed vet care. The adoption fee is $275. Please apply through our website: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Louise, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Louise is an 8 year old Boxer Mix, she’s a genuinely sweet and loving dog, and she’s endured more pain and sorrow in her life than any dog should ever have to. Louise was found in a home in Ohio when Child Protective Services was called to do a welfare check on children in the home.  But, as most neglected and abused dogs usually are, Louise has shown us that she is resilient, happy, loving, and excited to see what her future has in store. I took Louise to the Vet on Monday and she has come a long way since being rescued. She’s put on 8 pounds, she tested negative for Heart Worm disease, and her blood work showed that her prior anemia has been resolved. We are feeding Louise smaller amounts of food four times daily and her energy is good. After previously being locked in a bedroom with no food, Louise has been eager to go outside, take walks, engage in the play area, and to discover new things. Please help me find this deserving girl a forever home. There are people out there that are looking for older dogs and she will make a wonderful companion. She weighs just 36 pounds and she very much enjoys one on one cuddle time on the couch. If you would like to meet Louise, please submit an adoption application under her name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Daniel DePew Mikey & Me   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Dobby is a smart, joyful and outgoing young girl. She's about 2 years old and weighs about 75 pounds. She'll make a fantastic companion. She gets along well with other dogs. Video of her can be found on our Facebook page here. Is this dog good with kids? It's crucial that children are taught to respect dogs and understand a dog's body language. Is this dog house trained? Expect to house train a newly adopted dog. Some dogs will pick it up faster than others. Successful house training largely depends on patience and consistent encouragement. Most of the dogs that end up in shelters are mixed breeds that can have 2 to 10 different breeds in their DNA. The breed listed is only the best guess of the shelter volunteers. If interested in meeting any of our cats or dogs, stop in to meet them during our open hours. For location and hours, see our website at https://wacshelter.com To apply to adopt online go to https://wacshelter.com/adopt-a-dog/ ALL ANIMALS LISTED AS ADOPTABLE ARE AVAILABLE TO BE ADOPTED. *ADOPTION FEE: $95 (cash only) includes spay/neuter, distemper vaccine, heartworm test, and rabies vaccine.

Story
Tank was rescued when his previous owner was unable to provide a safe life for him. That was a lucky break for Tank. The shelter had him heartworm tested while he was neutered and discovered he is suffering from heartworm disease due to being denied routine prevention. Tank will now require a several month long treatment once it's determined he is healthy enough to undergo the injections. Thankfully, Pound Pals Downriver has stepped up to help this young dog get his health back. He's an energetic and playful 3 year old pup who seems to do well with other dogs. Be sure to check out our Facebook page at Wyandotte Animal Shelter (https://www.facebook.com/wacshelter/) for day to day updates on our cats and dogs. :) Thank you for your interest in adopting! If you think the animal in this profile might be a good fit for your home and would like to meet them, here's how! !. Go to our website at wacshelter.com. 2. Click on the Apply To Adopt button to submit an online adoption application. NOTE: You will get an email confirmation that we have received your application. If you do not see this email appear upon submission, please check your "spam" folder. 3. Your application will be processed and a volunteer will call or email with any questions. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative unless otherwise indicated. All are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and current on heartworm prevention! Additional questions... Does this dog get along with cats? There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition. If one of our dogs is reported to have lived with cats previously, that will be indicated in the dog's description! Does this dog react well to other dogs? No dog loves every other dog, just as humans do not like every other human they meet. A proper introduction (meet and greet) would be required as part of our application process. Is this dog good with children? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A dog will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with dogs and pay attention to body language. Young children should never be left unsupervised with new dogs. How did this dog end up in a shelter? The top reasons dogs are given up are: Moving without considering the needs of the pets Death of the owner with no plan in place for the pets Previous owner did not provide appropriate training Owner did not consider the lifespan of a dog Owner did not consider the cost of providing for a dog
