Meet Kirby, an absolute fan-favorite of our volunteers! This sweet, happy boy is always ready to greet you with a big smile and plenty of affection. He loves being around people, and is a smart, attentive dog who listens well and is eager to please.Kirby is house trained and knows his basic commands including "sit", "stay" and "leave it." He is a great walking partner who does not pull on his leash, loves going on car rides and new adventures, and is the kind of companion who is happiest when included in your everyday life. Demonstrating what a well-behaved boy he is, Kirby will offer his paw for a friendly handshake if asked, but he will not jump up on people or furniture. This good-natured guy has a perfect balance of energy and calm. He enjoys being outside for walks and adventures, but once home, he settles down quickly and is happy to relax. He also looks for your cues for when it is time to wake up in the morning. Kirby would be delighted to be an only dog and get 100% of your love, but he can peacefully co-exist with another female dog. Kirby does need to be in a cat-free home. Kirby is up to date on vaccinations and flea/tick prevention, microchipped, neutered, and receiving treatment for heartworms. Axel is a calm, low-energy charmer who may be a good fit for a home with kids. A little shy indoors, he blossoms into a confident, easygoing companion outside. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Toby is still looking for a home. He was found as a stray in April, the owners (located via his chip), couldn’t take him back. The vet says he’s a Sharpei mix, and estimated to be between 2-4 yrs old. I have completely vetted him and he is now fully healed from his neuter. His vet care to this point has exceeded $300-but he is in great health and ready for a forever, loving home. I am keeping him on flea, tick and hw prevention while in my care. Toby is: house trained, takes treats gently, has leash manners, wants to be with someone, loves lap time, enjoys being outside. Toby would love a home without small children (he gets jumpy excited) and someone able to walk him. A fenced yard isn’t required, but would be nice. Not sure about shared walls housing since he has a deep bark. We currently keep him separated from my dogs since they are not always nice to others. We have taken Toby to a park to see his reaction in public. He ignores adults, nub wags at children, but gets jumpy excited when dogs walked by. When on walks, he shows interest in squirrels, rabbits but is brought back on track with a stern “No”. When in the fenced yard, he plays and self entertains, and checks to see you’re still there once in awhile. Jetta is a super sweet and soft girl who is learning what it means to be loved! For her age, she is still quite a playful dog, but also will snuggle when tired. Jetta took a few days to warm up to her foster siblings, but she is doing great after a slow introduction. She understands pack dynamics and has become great friends with her 4 foster siblings. Jetta is potty trained and crate trained. She will whine at first, but does settle in. Definitely prefers to be and sleep with you. Jetta would be fine as an only dog or with fur siblings as long as you let her take the introductions slow. She is great with people of all ages. She has not yet been cat tested. She does seem to be excitable around smaller breeds of dogs, so we'd caution you if you have any that we have noticed her more interested in them. Never attacked or shown aggression, but just a thought if you have smaller dogs or cats. She is not used to those quite yet. ##1387278##
