Story
Layla came to us from a family friend who was no longer able to care for her. She is very sweet and has a lot of love to give. She is 8 and full of energy! She is great with kids and other animals. She comes with food, a kennel, leash and toys. We unfortunately just do not have the ability to care for her anymore as our schedules no longer support a dog. She is friendly. Unfortunately we do not have any vaccination records at this time.

Story
Meet Roxy! ❤️ Roxy is a loving, energetic Boxer mix looking for her forever home. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, great with kids, and gets along well with other dogs. She is not good with cats. Roxy loves walks, playing fetch, and being part of the family’s adventures. After she’s had plenty of exercise, she’s happy to relax and cuddle with her favorite people. She would do best with an active family that can match her energy and give her the time and attention she deserves. Rehoming her has been an incredibly difficult decision due to my health issues, but I want what’s best for her and know she deserves a home where she can truly thrive. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, affectionate companion and can offer Roxy a loving forever home, I’d love to hear from you.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Larry is a sweet, goofy Boxer/Pit mix who is almost 2 years old. We’re looking for a new home for him because his high energy is too much for our two senior dogs to handle. Larry has lots of young-dog enthusiasm and thrives with an active lifestyle full of long walks, runs, and playtime. He’s also very affectionate and happiest relaxing near his family once the day is done. Larry would do best as an only dog or with another energetic dog that can match his play style. He hasn’t lived with cats or young children so we’re not sure how he’d do around them. We’re looking for experienced dog owners who can provide proper structure, guidance, so if you’re an active, experienced owner looking for a loyal and affectionate best friend, Larry is ready to meet you!

Story
Meet Chacha Female DOB: May 22, 2024 Weight: 29 pounds (medium small) Breed: Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Spayed (Fixed) (Spayed during a community campaign — no paperwork available) Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Chacha T is a loving, social girl with a happy personality and a wonderful balance of affection and playful energy. She absolutely loves going on walks and enjoys spending time with her people, making her a great companion for someone who enjoys having a dog involved in daily life and activities. She also gets along well with: Dogs Children Chacha T does not do well with cats and would do best in a cat-free home. Some dogs naturally have stronger prey-drive tendencies or become overly focused on smaller animals depending on breed traits, personality, and past experiences. She has beautifully matured beyond the puppy stage while still keeping a fun, playful spirit. Chacha T enjoys companionship, interaction, and being included as part of the family. A Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix is typically a loyal, intelligent, and affectionate companion with a wonderful balance of playful energy and steadfast devotion. This breed mix often combines the Boxer's fun-loving, people-oriented personality with the Black Mouth Cur's confidence, work ethic, and strong loyalty to their family. They are happiest when they are included in everyday life and enjoy being active alongside the people they love. These dogs are eager to learn and respond well to positive reinforcement, making them highly trainable and rewarding companions. They enjoy daily exercise, outdoor adventures, interactive games, and activities that challenge both their mind and body. While they have an energetic side, they are also known for being affectionate and enjoy relaxing with their family after an active day. A Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily exercise and outdoor activities Continued positive reinforcement training Mental stimulation and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Plenty of companionship and family interaction A lifelong commitment to their emotional and physical well-being With love, leadership, and consistency, a Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix grows into a confident, devoted, and well-mannered companion who forms deep bonds with their family and is always ready for the next adventure. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Chacha T will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Continued socialization and engagement Daily exercise and mental stimulation Patience during adjustment periods Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Chacha T will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and updated vaccinations Preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because vaccine records are unavailable and vaccines are currently due, adopters should establish veterinary care promptly after adoption to update and maintain her preventative care schedule. Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping her live a healthy and happy life. Chacha T is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Here's what you need to know about me:I'm not on the general adoption floor. You might not see me when you come to visit. So please speak to an adoption counselor if you'd like to meet me.I'm easy going. Wanna go for a walk? Okay. Hang out in the yard? No problem. Just relax on the couch? I can do that. I'm pretty happy to go at your pace and I don't really need much more than most dogs do. If you're looking for a steady companion, I'm all yours.I love to cuddle! Once we've made friends, I'll be your snuggle buddy.I can be shy in new spaces. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.I can be nervous around new people. It just takes me a little while to get comfortable. But once I get to know you, I'm very loving.I need a slow introduction to cats. I can share my space with cats, but I'd like to get used to the idea over time. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. Story
Hi… my name is Peaches 🍑❤️ I’m a 5-year-old Pittie mix from Tijuana, Mexico, and I’m looking for my foster or forever home here in Portland, Oregon. Before I was rescued, I spent most of my life living neglected in a cage. But some amazing humans saved me and helped me travel all the way here so I could finally have a chance at a real life filled with love, grass, cuddles, and snacks. I’m spayed, fully vaccinated, and I LOVE people. I’m also good with dogs and even some cats! I can be a little protective of my dinner or treats around other dogs sometimes, but my foster families have helped me so much and I’ve done really well living with other dogs and even a cat. I’m also working on getting healthier and stronger. I’ve already lost 6 pounds in the last 6 weeks because I LOVE walks. Grass and trails are my favorite things ever. I do have an old wrist injury from my life in Tijuana that healed a little funny, so I’m more of a “lots of shorter walks” girl instead of long hikes. Dr. March at Riverbend Vet checked me out and says it looks stable. My favorite hobbies include: • Giving kisses • Getting kisses • Snuggling • Eating snacks • More kisses • Naps • Following you around lovingly Did I mention I’m a really great kisser? Because I am. LOL. I’d probably do best in a home with a fenced yard and some grass to roll around on. Older kids would be best too — not because I’m mean at all, but because I get excited and could accidentally knock over little humans. More than anything, I just want a family of my own. Would you like to meet me or maybe foster me? Please contact Jeff with The Forgotten Dog Foundation to set up a meet-and-greet: 📞 Jeff — 971-285-7160
