******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Maddie is a 12 year old boxer mix. She loves long walks and sitting next to you on the couch. She has most experience with smaller dogs. She loves carrots and green beans and knows a few tricks. Maddie is a lovely dog who we would keep if we didn’t already have 2 dogs and a cat.

Story
Buddy is a bright, energetic puppy with a huge love for life. He wakes up ready for adventure and spends his days exploring, playing, checking things out, and finding ways to be involved in whatever is happening around him. He is incredibly curious and always interested in his surroundings, which makes everyday life with him feel fun, active, and full of personality. He has the kind of happy energy that naturally draws people toward him. Buddy loves interaction and thrives when he gets attention, engagement, and opportunities to explore. He would likely enjoy an active household where he can continue building confidence through walks, playtime, training, and lots of positive experiences. He is still very much a puppy, so he will need guidance and structure as he grows, but he is eager, social, and excited about life. Watch his YouTube video now https://youtu.be/ynS3k8Q21f4?si=JK1VK2Z_xopnFyAm Buddy also has a very affectionate side that balances out his playful energy beautifully. Once he’s tired himself out from running around and investigating everything, he enjoys settling in close and relaxing near his people. He likes companionship and seems happiest when he feels connected and included. He has the kind of personality that makes him feel like a true part of the family very quickly. He would do especially well with adopters who are prepared for an active puppy and who want a dog involved in their daily life. Buddy is not a couch potato puppy — he wants to learn, move, play, and experience things alongside his people. At the same time, he is incredibly loving and sweet, and he forms bonds easily with the people caring for him. Buddy is going to make someone an amazing companion. He is goofy, affectionate, curious, fun, and overflowing with the kind of joyful puppy energy that makes raising a dog such a rewarding experience. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69ead1e1bb3a16ee0601727d Questions? Story
Reba is an incredibly sweet and gentle puppy with a soft, loving personality that makes people fall for her very quickly. She has a calmer and more tender way about her while still enjoying all the normal puppy fun like playing, exploring, and spending time with the other dogs. She carries herself with a very affectionate, comforting energy and seems to genuinely enjoy being close to people. She is the kind of puppy who forms strong emotional connections and enjoys quiet affection just as much as playtime. Reba loves being loved on, and once she feels safe and comfortable, she relaxes beautifully into her environment. She has a very warm and gentle presence that would fit wonderfully into a family looking for a loving companion to grow alongside them. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/ynS3k8Q21f4?si=EbesVGjX2Rix3UT1 Even though she has a softer personality, she is still playful and curious. She enjoys exploring at her own pace, playing with the other puppies, and experiencing new things in a thoughtful way. She would likely do very well in a home that provides both gentle guidance and opportunities to continue building her confidence as she grows. Reba would thrive with adopters who appreciate a sweet-natured dog that enjoys closeness and companionship. She has the kind of temperament that makes you want to include her in every part of daily life — relaxing together in the evenings, spending time outside, going on walks, or simply having her nearby throughout the day. She is still very young and will need all the normal puppy training and consistency, but she already shows so many wonderful qualities. Reba is loving, calm, playful, affectionate, and deeply endearing. She is going to make a beautiful lifelong companion for a very lucky family. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69ead18da0fc8b7eb30b0ccb Questions? Story
I've been in the shelter longer than most and my adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me.Here's what you need to know about me:Hi I'm Cleo!I'm a young playful girl with the sweetest face and I like to do little tippy taps with my paws when I get excited! I can be a little shy when you first meet me, but toys and treats will help me feel more comfortable.I'm an active dog! But don't worry - I'm not go-go-go all the time. My favorite thing is a long, slow, sniffy walk where I can stop to smell the roses. It helps me stay calm. But when it's time for adventure? I'm all in. Camping, hikes, cave exploring (maybe?) - I'd be your loyal sidekick through it all!I learn really fast! My shelter friends have worked with me on all sorts of things, like leash skills, checking in when I see birds or small animals, learning to keep "4 on the floor" and learning to be patient while I wait for a treat and they say I learn really fast when using positive training methods.I love to snuggle! Underneath all my playful energy, I am also very snuggly. I love when my favorite people sit with me to cuddle after our walks.I'm ready to learn! If you want to learn about HSSW training classes, check out our Dog Training program.I'm a staff favorite! Here's what they have to say about me: Cleo does the cutest little tippy-toe dance whenever treats come out, and it never fails to make me smile. She's also an expert cuddler who loves soaking up attention and giving the best snuggles.I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! I've been in the shelter longer than most and my adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me.Here's what you need to know about me:Hi, I'm Arrow! I'm a sweet girl with a big heart. I can be a little shy with new people and nervous around loud noises, but once I get comfortable, I turn into the ultimate snuggle buddy - my foster mom says I love belly rubs! I also love going for walks and sometimes get extra excited when I see other dogs or cats because I'd really like to say hi. One of my favorite things is when my people come home; I get so happy to see you that I might bounce around a little, but I'm working on my manners and learning to ask politely for attention. Once I settle in, I'm a loyal, affectionate girl who will happily be your cuddle buddy and best friend. .I'm available for Trial Adoption!
