Story
Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart, this one lives there. Cue the music for My Girl, My Girl, My Girl, talking about My Girl...... Cherie aka Mya! She is loyal, gentle, wise beyond her years, and she's the kind of dog who seems to know what you need before you do. Whether that's curling up next to you after a long day at work or being that nurturing loving presence to your kids. Mya is always there. She's the nanny dog of every family's dream too and loves being a family dog. She watches over the little ones, soothes them with a soft nudge or kiss, and places herself beautifully right between chaos and calm. She the kind of dog that counts heads before settling in for a nap, who knows the sound of a baby's cry before you do, and who's always there to be a listening ear for those sweet baby talks. She's not just a dog, she's YOUR heart dog and YOUR kids heart dog. Watch her video and fall in love with this sweet soul: https://youtu.be/rJHC7DsOEMQ?si=FOJ7GGPLchX45x31 Mya is believed to be a boxer/pittie mix approximately 8 years young, only weighs 45 lbs pounds. She's the perfect medium size, not too big and not too small. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We can promise you that Mya is the sweetest little angel. Mya currently shares her home with a family that has small children, and she ADORES them! The tiny humans she is currently fostered with are ages 6, 3, and 3 months. She is so incredibly gentle and loves being on the receiving end of their kisses, hugs, and giggles galore! She even lets them dress her in cute little outfits! Mya also extends her love and gentleness even towards other children as well. When other kids come over or when she sees other kids out on their walks she is just as loving with them as she is to the ones she is fostered with. She is probably the closest definition to an actual nanny dog. How she is with kids, really is the sweetest thing ever. Mya is even great to take on family walks throughout the neighborhood or local park. She is so easy to walk on a leash and rarely ever pulls. She is so easy that even the 6 year old is able to walk her. Mya also has no issues walking side by side to a stroller as well nor does she ever get in the way of the stroller. Mya also peacefully shares her home with cats and another pup, but she would much prefer to be the princess of her castle and soak up all the love for herself. Nothing short of what she absolutely deserves! That being said, the right family with the right dog and/or cat, could be a possibility. She is the perfect companion for a family that has slowed down a bit, or who prefer the quiet life of couch snuggling and binge watching marathons. Cherie rides well in the car, and is fully house and crate trained! Though she may protest just a little because her favorite thing is to be out with her people! Mya's dream home would have a backyard out in the suburbs away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Not that she minds the loud noises or the crowds of city life, she just a relaxed and calm lady we think would prefer living in a residential neighborhood and would probably love her own yard to sunbathe in on those warm spring and summer days. She also gets excited and does these adorable little jumps to go outside too which is another reason why we prefer to see her go to a home with a yard. Ultimately, wherever she ends up calling "home", Mya is poised to spend her Golden Years giving all of the love and quiet companionship that Senior dogs are especially known for. We are willing to test My Girl Cherie, aka Mya with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
**Now fostered in Kenmore, WA** Some superheroes come in small, wiggly, cuddly packages! This gallant little champ is Captain Underbite. His mission? To save the world through joy, laughter, and zoomies. He's already doing an excellent job spreading hope and giggles, delighting his foster folks and everyone he meets. Watch Captain Underbite's video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw-aPUHmwXc&feature=youtu.be This kissing crusader is about 4 1/2 months old and weighs 17 lbs. He might be a mix of boxer, labrador, and pittie, but we're just guessing! What we do know for sure is that he is the sweetest and most affectionate little snuggle buddy you could wish for. Captain is absolutely crazy about people. Everyone is his best friend and deserves his delicate little kisses and snuffles. His wagging tail and wiggling butt are almost as adorable as his wonky smile and his big, floppy ears. End to end, this boy is all about the cute! Photos don't quite do Captain justice; you have to see this hero in action to appreciate just how goofy and adoring he is. When he's excited, he darts around like a ping pong ball, changing direction and flying recklessly through the grass. He picks up toys in those silly jaws of his and shakes them with such ferocity that he sometimes falls over! And when he's finished with his short bursts of energy, he is the most tender-hearted little cuddler. He wants to be near you, preferably leaning against you, giving and receiving love. Captain's love is not limited to humans. He's thrilled to play with, or just hang out with, other dogs. He's brave enough to play with his 45- and 60-lb foster brothers. Captain loves to be chased. If other dogs ignore him, he finds toys to show off and tries to tempt his canine companions into a game of tug or keep-away. This clown also likes to play like a kitten! A toy dangling at the end of a stick or a string is a fabulous plaything for him! He chases it in circles with determination and zeal. And, of course, Captain also loves squeaky toys and crinkle toys — any toy will do, and a bone to chew keeps him busy and happy. Captain spends most of his time sleeping, of course, like most young puppies do. He loves to sleep flopped on his person or snuggled against them. He also loves his fuzzy donut bed. At night, Captain sleeps 8 hours straight in his crate in a room with his foster family. Some nights he complains for about one minute that he doesn't want to go to sleep yet… and then zzzzzzzzzz, he conks out. Captain is turning out to be a quick study at potty training. He LOVES praise, so he quickly learned to potty on command. We'd say he just needs another week or so to reinforce his good behavior. Eager to please, he stops a behavior when he understands you don't like it. He's also very food motivated — he loves meal time so much that he spins in circles from the excitement! This food motivation has made him easy to train so far. Though he's just getting started in his new Pacific Northwest foster home, he already knows to run into his kennel at feeding time (with the "kennel up" command) after a few celebratory pirouettes. He's looking forward to learning tricks for treats! Captain Underbite's greatest superpower is best-friending! He'll make the most wonderful addition to some lucky family. Captain dreams of going for walks in the neighborhood, running errands with you (he's such a good boy in the car), and maybe trips to the beach or the park! He just wants to be wherever you are, making you laugh and hearing that he's a good boy! Will you be the lucky person to have a superhero for a life partner? Adopt Captain Underbite! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6812254ef942e441f205b414 Please email Leah.Smith@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $900.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 7 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. I have such a special girl I am so excited to share with you all! Her name is Scarlett and she is the most perfect, gentle, sweet, pretty little pittie baby you’ve ever seen! Have you looked at those eyes? Omg angel status. She is a dog’s best friend and will make such a good addition to a family looking to add some sweetness to their life! Scarlett is a pittie mix of some sort who is around 2 years old and weighs approximately 50 pounds. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But that’s what makes rescue the best! She is a Texas special uniquely handcrafted for you and your family. :) Peep Scarlett here: https://youtu.be/G8PA1promQs Scarlett started out with her foster as a temporary stay while maintenance was being done at our rescue property. But due to her sweet demeanor and the way she got along so well with her foster’s other animals, she quickly became a long term foster family member. Scarlett is currently staying in a home with other dogs and cats and lives harmoniously with them all! This is great that she is already getting used to what life is like in a home when she gets adopted by her future family! I asked her foster what made Scarlett special and she had this to say “First, I wanted to keep her because after the first 12 hours, I realized how wonderfully sweet she is. She does great in her kennel and does not complain one bit. If you just sit down with her, she will approach you. She waits until night time to jump in the bed and lie down. With gentle pets she rolls over and soaks in every little pet. With even more time, she wants to play and engage. She shows her zoomies. She loves to play with other animals and seems curious about my cat but doesn’t go after him.” How precious is that? Scarlett is very dog friendly and would absolutely thrive in a home with multiple dogs. She meshes easily with all sorts of personalities and would do great in a home with medium energy dogs that enjoy playing but also know when it’s time to settle down. She is also cat tolerant and would do well in a home that has a dog savvy cat that doesn’t mind the occasional canine curiosity! She has spent a lot of time around kids and does great! She would do well with older children who understand how to properly care for a dog who takes a little while to open up to new people. Scarlett would love a dedicated family to continue her training to make her the absolute best companion she can be! Scarlet is a gentle flower that with tender care and love has the potential to bloom into who she is meant to be! There is nothing more rewarding than showing love to the dogs who need it the most! Scarlett is such a gem and is ready for her forever family! Does Scarlett sound like your girl? Apply today!

Story
Meet Sockhop! The cutest kid in town with the best playful energy! He’s a growing boy and is motivated to learn all of the things! He is getting trained in his foster home to be the bestest friend ever! Did someone say crate trained?? Oh yeah! He is a stylish guy with socks on all 4 feet and rocks a bandana like no other! He is full of love and ready for his future family to find him! We believe Sockhop is a boxer mix around 6 months old and weighs approximately 35 pounds. He still has some room to grow and is sporting the best lanky limbs in this phase! Due to him being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But what we can’t guarantee in genetics, we can guarantee in love! This boy loved to be around every single person he met while he was visiting us and every single person loved to be around him! Check out Sockhop here: https://youtu.be/771PR4bKdB8 Sockhop is fortunate enough to be fostered in a home setting which is awesome! This is a great source of enrichment as he waits for his forever family. It provides structure and a sort of example of what it is like to live in a home when he gets adopted! It’s obvious he is comfortable being around dogs because he effortlessly meshed with all of the new friends we introduced him to when he was with us! He met a couple of friends with various temperaments out in the yard and was ready to play with all of them! He tended to hang around the dogs with higher energies over the more docile friends! He is definitely a guy that wants to be where the party's at! He would do well in a home with another medium energy pup that can bring the fun and run but also settle down and chill as well! Sockhop is definitely a bundle of fun and wants everyone around him to know it! He wants even his feline friends to know what it’s like to play and run! Due to his joy and love for an exciting play life, Sockhop will do best in a home that doesn’t have any cats. We want to make sure that every animal in the home appreciates the love that Sockhop gives! He has that puppy heart that wants to show affection to anyone who is willing to receive it! We believe that he would do well with older children who know how to properly enrich and handle a bouncing puppy boy! He would also do best in a home with a yard over an apartment so that he could get his zoomies out! What I loved about Sockhop is how easily he settled down once we came inside. He didn’t try to continue being a ball of energy. He showed me that he knows how to balance his excitement and even offered to lay down on the couch with me. He was showing off his “sit” and “lay” and made it apparent that he will be the one to get an A+ in puppy training school. He would be a great guy to take out on adventures because of how trainable he is! He is young and full of life and will be a great addition to his future family! Does Sockhop sound like your guy? Meet King – Your Gentle Giant & Loyal Sidekick 🐾👑 Looking for a laid-back, family-friendly dog who’s all about the simple joys in life? Meet King, a 2.5-year-old, 72 lb Boxer/Pit Bull mix with a heart as big as his paws. This sweet boy is calm, steady, and full of love—and he's ready to find a forever home where he can be part of the family. King is the kind of dog who moves at his own easygoing pace. He enjoys his daily walks, especially the long ones down to the Guadalupe River, where he sips fresh water, sniffs cypress trees, and watches the ducks glide by—without getting too excited. He hasn’t show interested in the water and has never tried to jump in! He’s got a calm, observant nature that makes him such a peaceful presence to be around. While he might not be chasing after every squirrel like some pups, he does have a playful side—especially when it comes to playing fetch! Toss him a ball, and you’ll see his eyes light up. He’s got a great return game and loves nothing more than lounging in the grass afterward, soaking up the sunshine. You can get to see more of him in his adoption video:https://youtu.be/JiujuuRD2qc King is crate trained, house-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and rides like a dream in the car. In fact, car rides are one of his favorite things! He hops in like a pro, settles quickly, and usually drifts off into a peaceful nap with a smile on his sweet, squishy face. He’s also a total lovebug with people. King recently had a day out with a petite senior friend of his foster mom, and he was a perfect gentleman—gently greeting her, hopping into the truck, and strolling through the park like a pro. He mastered his "sit" command and made friends with everyone he met, wagging his tail and radiating gentle energy. Kid-tested, family-approved! King met a four-year-old named Kobe and was patient and calm as Kobe showed off all his best dance moves and Jiu Jitsu skills. They played fetch together, and King never once got overwhelmed by the excitement. He’s the kind of dog who can hang with the whole family, from toddlers to teens. He currently lives with two other male dogs—one is 55lbs, young and energetic, and the other is a 24lb senior terrier—he gets along wonderfully with both. He’s respectful of dogs who don’t want to play and after boding with those who do, he will play in short bursts!. We think he'd do best with a mellow or medium-energy female friend. As for cats—King is very curious, so at this time, we recommend a home without them. At home, King’s favorite place is in the "man cave" with his foster family. He lounges on the futon with his dog siblings and foster mom, all of them gazing out the window, enjoying the evening peace. He’s affectionate and sweet, always ready for a cuddle, a gentle hug, or a loving look. He’s just happy to be near his people. If you’re looking for a gentle, mellow, and deeply loving companion, King could be your perfect match. He’s well-mannered, affectionate, and will bring peace into your home. He will fill it with love, belly rubs, and slow-paced adventures. 💛 Adopt King and bring home a steady, soulful best friend who will adore you, your family, and every moment you share. We are willing to test King with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match for you. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
