Peaches and her son, Onyx, used to fend for themselves outside. A kind person took them in during a blizzard in Kansas City. Now Peaches and Onyx have grown to appreciate the comforts of life indoors and have no desire to venture outside. At about five months old, Onyx is coal black with just a little bit of white on his belly. He appreciates tasty food and playing with toys. He's a brave boy who shows his mama the ropes, letting her know that the world isn't so scary. Onyx is very loving and purrs like a big engine. Peaches is about two years old; she was just a baby herself when she had Onyx, but has learned so much from him. Peaches has started to trust humans and is learning to like pets and scratches. If you're patient with her, Peaches will reward you with her love, attention, and purrs. Both kitties have very good manners and are a joy to have. Peaches and Onyx would do best in an adult-only home with patient people. After all, it's not easy to go from living on the street to having everything you've always wanted right before your eyes: a warm, cozy place to sleep; regular, nutritious meals; fresh water; shelter from the rain and snow; and humans who are nice to you. Meet Tipper! Remember the outgoing, friendly, genuinely nice kid in school liked by everyone? That's Tipper! She's the class president, the pep squad leader, and the one hugging friends having a rough day. Tipper loves everyone! She's not shy about seeking attention, either. She's a lap kitty through and through: If you go to sit down, she'll be on your lap before your behind hits the cushion. At about 7 years old, Tipper is no "senior" at heart. She's a silly, playful kitty who loves rolling around on the floor with her toys. She's good with other cats. As for the dachshunds in her current home, they've all reached an understanding that ignoring each other is the best course of action. So, if you have respectful dogs that won't be all up in Tipper's business, they will probably do just fine together. You'd never know it when you meet her, but Tipper has had a rough time of it lately. Her owner passed away, and her owner's friend took her in. Somehow, Tipper wound up abandoned in a motel room, malnourished and looking pretty rough. Her owner's dad has Tipper now, but he can't keep her. Muffin is around ten years old she was originally my mothers but took a liking to me and eventually became mine. She is a sweet heart, very affectionate and very vocal but she is also the living definition of a scaredy cat; she does best alone and in a quiet environment. I’ve had her for around nine years and honestly don’t have the drive or energy to give her the love she deserves anymore.

🐾 Meet Felix — Your Talkative, Tuxedo Cuddle Buddy! 🖤🤍 Looking for a handsome gentleman who believes your lap is the best seat in the house? Meet Felix! Felix is a 3-year-old black-and-white tuxedo cat with a big personality, an adorable little voice, and a whole lot of love to give! ❤️ This affectionate guy is a true lap cat who loves snuggling, curling up beside his favorite person, and sleeping in bed with his human. Once Felix gets to know you, don't be surprised if he starts demanding his daily dose of cuddles! 🥰 And did we mention he's a talker? Felix has a wonderfully expressive voice and isn't shy about letting you know what's on his mind. Especially when treats are involved! 😹 Temptations, Friskies treats, and Churu are among his favorites. He doesn't need extra treats, but if he knows they're available, he'll happily remind you! 🐾 **A Little Patience, a Lot of Love** Felix may take some time to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings and new people. But once he feels safe and builds trust, his loving, affectionate personality really shines. He's also a clever boy who seems to understand when he's told "no"! 🏡 **Felix's Ideal Home** Felix has done very well with children ages 9 and older, although his experience with younger children is unknown. When it comes to other cats, Felix sometimes likes to be the boss! He has lived around other cats but can occasionally be a little pushy, so he may be happiest as the only feline in his home. He's also spent time around a young Labrador Retriever and did well sharing space with the dog, even relaxing nearby, provided the dog respected his personal space. A calm, cat-savvy dog could potentially be a good companion with proper introductions. Felix also has an adventurous streak and enjoys exploring his surroundings. While he's accustomed to spending time outdoors, a safe indoor home with plenty of enrichment would be ideal. If outdoor adventures are part of his future, a secure catio or other protected, supervised space would let him enjoy the fresh air safely. Above all, Felix wants a person who appreciates his affectionate nature, respects his boundaries, and doesn't mind sharing their lap—and probably their bed—with a devoted feline companion! ❤️ Felix came to Melissa's Second Chances through no fault of his own, and he's ready for a fresh start with someone who will give him the time and love he deserves.
