Peaches and her son, Onyx, used to fend for themselves outside. A kind person took them in during a blizzard in Kansas City. Now Peaches and Onyx have grown to appreciate the comforts of life indoors and have no desire to venture outside. At about five months old, Onyx is coal black with just a little bit of white on his belly. He appreciates tasty food and playing with toys. He's a brave boy who shows his mama the ropes, letting her know that the world isn't so scary. Onyx is very loving and purrs like a big engine. Peaches is about two years old; she was just a baby herself when she had Onyx, but has learned so much from him. Peaches has started to trust humans and is learning to like pets and scratches. If you're patient with her, Peaches will reward you with her love, attention, and purrs. Both kitties have very good manners and are a joy to have. Peaches and Onyx would do best in an adult-only home with patient people. After all, it's not easy to go from living on the street to having everything you've always wanted right before your eyes: a warm, cozy place to sleep; regular, nutritious meals; fresh water; shelter from the rain and snow; and humans who are nice to you. Penny is a 9 year old sweetheart who would prefer a quiet home. She loves to cuddle and be petted. She is very forthcoming with strangers and will participate in everything you do. She is insatiably curious and independent in a classic cat way.

She is healthy with no known medical issues, but she's become stressed living with other cats and would thrive in a calm, animal-free environment. Bebe is about 6 years old and has been a part of our family for around 5 years. She has lived in two different households with dogs and does well after she warms up to them. We have a 90lb Golden Retriever and they play together. She is a great play mate and also a great lap cat. She has always used her litter box and has not had an accident over her 5 years with us. She is spayed and microchipped, but could use an updated vet visit. She sometimes forgets she has claws and would do best in a household with children older than 5 years old.Unfortunately we have had to make the hard decision to rehome this sweet girl with our new baby. In her foster home, Elle has discovered a few favorite comforts: sunbathing on the windowsill, curling up on soft blankets, batting around pipe cleaners, and enjoying her favorite chicken‑flavored food. She’s a quiet, gentle presence who thrives in calm spaces and appreciates people who let her set the pace. Elle does well with cats, older kids/teenagers, and smaller dogs she can investigate at her own speed. She’s curious about little dogs but prefers to keep her distance from larger ones. She’s not a fan of fish‑flavored food, being touched without her consent, or younger children who move quickly or unpredictably — she’s a sensitive soul who shines with patient adopters. Full of confidence, affection, and silliness!! I adjusted exceptionally well to being rescued. I love everyone and am always ready to wrap my arms around someone for a good hug. I have been known to touch noses with humans and some of the cats who are willing to do so. My energy is considered a little exuberant so sometimes some of the quieter older gentleman cats don’t appreciate me tapping their tail a little…. I mean seriously though, I thought that when they swished it in front of me it meant “catch it!” Who knew?! Now I do and I am quickly learning the social hierarchy of the sanctuary cats. I would love to find a home for myself though! Other pets too are totally fine but I am also confident enough where I’m not needing a companion animal. When you are away from home I will catch up on naps and occupying myself by climbing my cat tree and playing with various toys!!
