Story
We adopted Midna from a family member in September 2023 when she was a kitten a few weeks after she was born in August 2023. She is 2 and a half years old. We need to rehome her because we are moving to a location that only allows one pet and our other cat has disabilities and as such we cannot rehome her confidently.Midna has always been an indoors only cat and is afraid of the outdoors. She is very social and friendly and loves people. She would also thrive in an environment where she has plenty of enrichment and can stay engaged in activities. She gets along well with other cats, although she has never lived with dogs or kids. Her personality suggests she would not have any behavioral issues with them.

Story
***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 5/2/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Poor Kalispell has not had an easy time of it since arriving at the shelter back in August 2025. Just a couple of weeks after she arrived as a stray, she gave birth to a litter of kittens, which meant she (and they) had to wait until the kittens were weaned before any of them could be listed for adoption. During this time, Kalispell was an excellent mother - perhaps a bit too good, as she did her best to shun attentions from the shelter staff and volunteers, preferring to keep them away from her babies (and of course, we HAD to socialize and handle the little ones, leading to much frustration for Kalispell). Just when Kalispell's kittens were adopted and we thought she, too, would be ready to head home - she contracted a calicivirus infection requiring a fairly lengthy quarantine period, with little human contact daily (to help prevent the spread of infection). She has now fully cleared her calici infection, but during the past couple of months, has grown depressed, antisocial, and slightly obese. She is now allowed to interact with other cats in a healthy-cat communal Meow Manor room, and gets many more human visits for snuggles and attention, but thus far has not perked up or shown much interest in interactions with any species. Kalispell needs a calm and loving home with an understanding family who will help her gradually lose weight, while learning all about the love of humans and fun to be had as a family pet. With your help, she can recover her broken spirit and find joy in life again! She's still a young cat, with an estimated birth date of 8/1/24, and we all want to see her blossom and live a long and happy life in an adoptive home. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Kalispell is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
HEARTWARMING RESCUE STORY DOB 8/26/22 Hey there, everyone! I'm Lollis, a very affectionate, delightful, playful “torbie” gal which means that I'm a brown tabby with patches of peach that makes me look like I was splashed with caramel in a candy factory. I can't get enough time to spend with Foster Meowmy, so I sleep with her and am always asking her for cuddles, especially when I don't have to compete with the resident cats for her attention. Although my independent, freedom-loving spirit has proven helpful in dealing “as needed” with the dogs, other cats, and kids in my foster home, my innate friskiness has made me a perfect companion for those same kids. I’ve been very bonded to Foster Meowmy ever since she spotted me at her jobsite as a seven-month-old stray kitten who had no momma or siblings in sight. Realizing that Foster Meowmy was my ticket to a life that was better than dumpster diving, I wasted no time and ran up to her. She scooped me up and drove home with me cuddled in her lap. Yes, our special connection began on that unforgettable journey. To this day, in those cherished moments when I need a little snuggle, it’s Foster Meowmy to whom I turn when I seek cuddling. I hope that my heartwarming rescue story has touched your heart. Yes, I chose Foster Meowmy, and now it's time for you to choose me to be your next feline companion. I want to become an integral part of your life and make every day an adventure worth sharing. Arrange to meet me today, and let's form a bond that's unbreakable! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a gal like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your family heirlooms. HOPE ID 23-1014-A047 Lollis is currently in the Houston, Texas area but can be transported to this location upon adoption. The $325 adoption fee includes transport, health certificate, spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. Story
Meet Misha! The adoption application can be found here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat Misha is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, or locations along their route. Misha's Story: Misha was found living in a colony with about 15 cats. Her ear was already notched so someone cared enough to fix her. But upon a closer look, Misha could barely open her mouth, she had severe mouth issues, her fur was missing and she was severely underweight. Her rescuers negotiated with the feeders to surrender Misha to them and after a long 30 days, they finally agree. And thereafter began Misha’s long journey to how you see her now. Her mouth and teeth were in such horrible condition, it took 3 months of tube-feeding and steroids to bring the inflammation down far enough to do dental work. It was a long process, but was all worth it when we see how good Misha looks now. She is playful, loves her toys — plays with it in spurts of energy. She still loves kitten kibble, but also loves her wet pates. She is fine with other cats, tries to make friends, but she is picky. She doesn’t like any cat up in her face and will let them know she likes her space. She loves to be petted and will come to you and ask for it. She is not a lap cat. She does not like being picked up too much, except to lead her to food. She loves scratching things, loves a good basket and bed to curl up in and will lounge all day long until she hears or sees you petting another cat — then she will emerge for affection. Misha will do great in a home with other cats, where you’re not looking for a clingy cat, but one that does seek your affection. Misha is spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and in great health. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy. All she needs now is her forever home! She has never met a dog. --- ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES: Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and transportation costs. Also, when you adopt from ROSES Rescues, you’re doing more than giving your new family member a home. Each adoption fee sponsors a cat on the streets of Houston to get fixed, helping end the cycle of overpopulation in a rough environment. We thank you so much for your contribution to our efforts!
