Story
Kayleigh arrived at my home when she was around 10 months old. She's been a house cat for her entire life. At around 12 years old, she's calm and enjoys her routines in a 600 sq ft condo. She likes to go out on the balcony especially with human company. She also meets me at my work computer at home. When I come back from an errand, she's often near the door upon my return and will promptly plop down on the shipping paper on the floor for a belly rub. Not a lap-cat, she sits next to me on the couch. She’s always been the only pet in the house. One eye has leaked some fluid which has clouded her eye a bit. She shows no issues with it, and the Vet has told me to watch it for changes.

Story
Raffia is a 6-year-old calico with a big personality, a loving heart, and a story of incredible resilience. After being abandoned by the people she trusted, Raffia was left to survive on her own through the harsh Houston weather and elements. Thankfully, she was eventually brought to safety, where she received the care she desperately needed. She arrived with a few medical concerns that had to be addressed, but after months of treatment, monitoring, and lots of TLC, Raffia is doing great and is finally ready to find the forever home she has waited so long for. One of the biggest obstacles in her adoption journey is her heart condition, which requires a once-daily medication that costs approximately $50 per month. Despite being stable, healthy, and living a happy life, many potential adopters have passed her by because of her diagnosis. It breaks our hearts because Raffia has so much love, companionship, and joy to offer the right family. Raffia is a sweet, affectionate, and delightfully sassy girl. She loves rubbing against your legs, following you around the house, and charming everyone she meets. Food is one of her favorite things in life, and shes never shy about reminding you when its mealtime. After spending the last 15 months in boarding while waiting for her chance at a home, were helping her shed a few extra pounds and enjoy more exercise now that she has more space to move around. Like many confident cats, Raffia knows exactly what she likes. She enjoys affection and loves being pet, but she is not a fan of being picked up and carried around. Shell also let you know when shes had enough attention and appreciates people who respect her boundaries. Raffia would likely thrive as the only cat in the home where she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. She may do well with respectful dogs, as shes a confident and self-assured cat. We would recommend a home without young children and feel she would do best with older, cat-savvy kids (14+) or adults who understand feline body language and respect her space. After everything shes been through, Raffia deserves a family willing to look beyond a diagnosis and see the wonderful cat she truly is. Shes affectionate, entertaining, full of personality, and more than ready to spend the rest of her life being loved.

Story
Cici is short for Persephone (Wife of Hades in Greek mythology). Shes such a sweet, playful and hyper girl. She has been spayed and is up to date on her shots, she also has what I like to call a “little apartment” where I put her cat litter. I will gift it along with a sturdy cat carrier. Unfortunately I can’t keep her and it makes me so sad to let her go. I recently found out I was expecting and I don’t want to leave Cici with lack of care or attention with the newborn coming.

Story
Mallie is a sweet, senior kitty who really wants attention. She wants to be pet (but not on her hips). She can be playful even in her senior years! My mother-in-law was her person - a veterinarian for over 50 years - but we had to move her to assisted care where she is unable to keep her cats. I tried to keep Mallie, but she is unable to integrate with our own 3 cats. She needs much more attention that I can give her. She desperately wants to interact. She snuck out of our guest room and into my daughter's noisy room of girls when they were having a sleepover. She just wanted girl time! She has been declawed, but watch out if you pet her or brush her somewhere she doesn't like, she might bite, but we are working through that! She does shed...but if she gets a proper grooming and you keep her brushed, she is just SO sweet. She's 16-17 years old, it's amazing how youthful she still seems. She really just needs some love and attention in her final years.

Story
Say hello to Stevie Nicks.Seven years old. Black as wet ink. Already named Stevie Nicks when she arrived here. Wow. A fantastic cat with absolutely no interest in pretending to be less interesting than she is.Stevie is wildly people-oriented.She wants proximity.A lap to stretch across.A nearby human to supervise with a not-always-soft conversation carried from room to room as she follows along behind you like a very committed program manager. She is affectionate, social, and wonderfully engaged with her humans. But will also occasionally issue corrective feedback with a quick “that is enough now” paw pop reminder delivered directly to an overenthusiastic hand. And if you are the broom and right beside her … well, all bets are off. She is not a fan. Honestly, we respect the clarity in her communication. She is not mean. She is not unpredictable. She is simply a cat with boundaries and the confidence to file respectful formal complaints when they are crossed. Stevie Nicks is looking for an adult-only home with no other cats ... a calm place where she can fully settle into her preferred role as a beloved lap companion, household shadow, and sometimes opinionated best friend. There is something deeply endearing about a cat who loves hard enough to express herself. And Stevie Nicks absolutely does.A Haiku for Stevie Nicks:Black cat on your lapThe weight of her love is strongNew best friend now homeNOTE: WE REQUIRE INDOOR ONLY CARE FOR OUR ADOPTIONS. Story
Say Hello to Finn … Finn is at that delicious age -- somewhere between kitten and cat -- but we are fairly certain he has already signed up for every available life experience. He is the first to investigate. The first to welcome. The first to wonder what happens if...Everything deserves investigation.Every shelf.Every bird in the windowEvery mysterious sound from the other room. There is a wonderful momentum to this young guy. He moves through the world with curiosity wide open, convinced there is something worth discovering around every corner. And more often than not, he's right. And yes …he is gorgeous, and his markings stop people in their tracks. But it is his personality that keeps them there.Spend five minutes with Finn, and you'll stop talking about how he looks and start talking about who he is.He is wildly people-oriented and, dare we say it, sort of dog-like. He wants to be part of your day, happily following along to see what comes next. If you're making dinner, he's there. Folding laundry? He's available to help. Working at your desk? He has several thoughts on the matter.Finn also comes equipped with a championship-caliber purr and an impressive vocabulary. If Finn has spent the afternoon on an important expedition, he'll likely have a full report to deliver when he gets back or maybe even when he is still on his mission. This dear boy isn't looking for a home where life happens around him. He's looking for one where he gets to be right in the middle of it. A Haiku for Finn:Bright eyes, busy feetEmbracing the whole wide worldAdventure beginsNOTE: The first step in our process is to fill out our application at www.havenrescue.org/catapplication. NOTE: We require indoor-only care for our adoptions. The first step in our process is to fill out our application at www.havenrescue.org/catapplicationSay hello to Simon. Sometimes there are cats that are so special they defy a pathway of easy words that can actually capture and convey their magic.  That's Simon. Stunningly gorgeous with a unique look. A sum of parts. Captivating and sublime. Although a bit of a wall-flower boy at heart, Simon has blossomed and now quickly welcomes even strangers into his love field, so long as they give a proper hello and give him a moment to take them in. And oh my, when you get the full invite into his world, it is truly something to behold. His favorite cuddle is across your chest, full melt, head tucked, with a constant rhythm of gentle paw kneading. Meditative, magnetic …  with a full love-blink gaze always. This gentle boy also loves to play and adores pretty much every cat he meets. Because having cat friends makes his world hum, he will need to be adopted with one of the other young cats at Haven (including his brother, Garfunkel), or into a home with another young and gregarious cat looking for a tight BFF.   Bringing Simon into your world means life with a quiet alchemist. His hello transforms and rewrites the day's tempo into a delicious cadence, and while he won't demand the spotlight,  this beautiful revelation of a cat will rearrange the shape of your home and your heart.
