Story
The lovely Reveille is affectionately known as The Grouch.  Her expression always says that she's miffed at the world, but we do watch her play.  Mostly, Reveille likes to nap.  She's a cave-dweller cat, not a tree-dweller (although she really, really likes the box for recycling on the end of the kitchen counter).  Yes, Reveille likes boxes.  Any empty box set on the ground is hers.  And wicker.  So we got her her very own wicker "basket" (although it isn't exactly a basket).  Reveille is likely middle-aged, although she won't tell us for sure.  She's been spayed and vaccinated against rabies and distemper.  Reveille had a dental done as well.  She's negative for FIV and feline leukemia.  She does have multiple lumps under her skin, but they are completely benign, nothing needs to be done.  We haven't noticed them growing (although Reveille's belly has been growing here thanks to her love of food).  Reveille is available for adoption for $50.  She is NOT declawed.   By the way, Reveille can be a bit grouchy so doesn't always want to be touched, at least not for long.  And she isn't a cuddly girl.  But she is a fabulous companion, just being there, making a house a home.   Reveille lives peacefully with other cats and a large dog.   Our rescue survives on donations.  All kittens are available for $60 each and all adults for $50 each.   Please note that we are located in New Prague, MN. Over 1700 adoptions and counting. . .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:54 pm

Story
UPDATE: Peepers does not have to wear diapers when he is on a raw diet.  His stools are firm, and no mess is made.  Peepers has been leaving his backend alone now.  He certainly can wear diapers if preferred as he occasionally plays hard enough to squeeze out a small, dry, odorless turd.  Otherwise Peepers is good at heading to the litterbox and depositing them there.  He just doesn't have a sphincter to prevent play from squeezing an occasional turd out.  We consider his diapers an easy option for the dear boy.   Peepers is an amazing young man, one year old, who arrived in our care as a tiny kitten with anal atresia due to trauma (cockleburs).  Unfortunately, the first surgeon didn't recognize his condition and expanded his fistula.  The next surgical team combined the original anus and the fistula by cutting through the anal sphincter.  That means that Peepers doesn't have a functional anal sphincter.  But given our main goal was to give him a functional "poop chute" we are happy with the outcome.  Peepers does take a twice daily medication.  He runs and plays and loves to chase and rumble with other felines.  He's comfortable with our resident dog.  Peepers does tend to bond to one person, but he did fabulously well with all his vet visits and staff fell in love with him.  Peepers has been neutered and vaccinated against rabies and distemper.  He tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia.  Peepers is available for adoption for $50 (our rescue survives on donations).  Peepers is NOT declawed.   Please note that Peepers is located in New Prague, MN. 1700+ adoptions and counting. . .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:54 pm

Story
The lovely Javan is coming up on 8 years old this May.  We know that because she originally arrived in our care at about 10 days old.  Javan was adopted as a 2-month-old kitten (after she was spayed).  My understanding is that Javan was a beloved family member, but then human children came along.  And Javan didn't care for their chaotic movements, etc.  Javan would love to have a home of her own without young children (or at least her own space with all her necessities as a retreat away from any toddlers).  She also requests to be an only cat.  That is her preference.  Javan is vaccinated against rabies and distemper.  She's negative for FIV and feline leukemia.  Javan is not a huge fan of the vet, by the way, but she loves affection and makes an enjoyable companion.  Javan is available for adoption for $50.   Please note that Javan lives in New Prague, MN.   1700+ adoptions and counting. . .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:54 pm

Story
Padua is a fabulous feline, perhaps 5 to 6 years old, who is spayed, vaccinated against rabies and distemper, and negative for FIV/FeLV.  Padua tolerates other felines fine but isn't cuddly with them and would be perfectly happy as an only feline.  She also has initial distrust of dogs but can come to tolerate their presence.  But would be perfectly happy without a dog.  Padua would rather not live with toddlers.  Or would tolerate them if she had her own safe space away from them.  And wasn't expected to go past them to get to the necessities.  Padua is available for adoption for $50.   This beauty enjoys affection and is one to greet her humans at the door.   Please note that Padua is located in New Prague, MN.   Over 1700+ adoptions and counting. . .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:54 pm

Story
Precious wee polydactyl Woodby was a transfer from another rescue after a recommendation was made by a vet to euthanize.  Woodby's offense?  An anal stricture.  Woodby arrived in our care 2/20/24, and we got the dear boy into our vet as well as the surgeon who had just successfully addressed another feline's anal stricture.  The recommendation?  Wait and see.  Woodby's anus was functional and patent, and the surgeon knew that he stood a chance of having the stricture expand with him as he grew.  Thankfully, that is exactly what happened.  Wee Woodby's stricture expanded from 3mm to over 10mm.  And he is still growing.  All this dear boy needs is a little bit of over-the-counter Miralax.  His biggest issue became that his stool would stick to the fur around his bum.  Now Woodby is eating a raw diet (free range chicken with supplements), and that is no longer an issue.  As a precaution, Woodby requires a home that would not be bothered by occasional stools dropping outside of the litterbox.  Woodby has been neutered and vaccinated against rabies and distemper.  He's negative for FIV and feline leukemia.  Woodby does fabulously well with other felines (and needs a feline buddy wherever he goes).  He also does just fine with the resident canine.  Woodby is available for adoption for $60.   Please note that Woodby is located in New Prague, MN.   1700+ adoptions and counting. . .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:54 pm

Story
Amazing wee Creevey arrived in our care in December 2023 after a worker on the farm noticed that he couldn't walk straight.  Turns out our young man likely had some sort of head trauma leaving him with a TBI.  Creevey is a wobbly boy, and he is now effectively deaf.  Creevey gets overwhelmed visually (especially if there's too much motion or he feels threatened), and the dear boy goes into a panic attack, running in circles and crying.  Thankfully, when I can catch him and hold him, he is reassured and can relax.  This young man should not live with young kids due to his stress from chaotic movements.  He also LOVES over felines and will need at least one buddy wherever he goes.  However, Creevey is also obsessed with tails.  And he doesn't understand when he gets downright annoying to others, assuming they are still playing with him.  Creevey has been neutered and vaccinated against rabies and distemper.  He is negative for FIV and feline leukemia.  Creevey is available to the right home for $60.   Please note the Creevey is located in New Prague, MN.   Over 1700+ adoptions and counting. . . Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:54 pm
