10 years ago, I was going through some difficult things in my life, and I decided to adopt a cat. I ended up finding two kittens, whom I named Simon and Garfunkel (Funk). They got me through hardship and joy, and were here during marriage and the welcoming home of two babies. Sadly, Simon passed away last year from a kidney infection that we were not able to fix. Funk is our big, cuddly, furry, loving boy. He has never hurt either of my children, and he was incredibly protective of my oldest as a baby. He has been around other kids as well, and as long as they let him come to them and don't chase him, he loves them. Funk would be happy to lie in a sun spot or on your lap all day. My oldest child has very intense emotion regulation issues, and it has been difficult for Funk. He spends most of his days hiding in our basement, and that's not fair to him. We want to find him a loving home so he can spend the rest of his years in the sun, soaking up cuddles, and enjoying peace.

I love to snuggle on your lap when you’re lounging around and jumping is my favorite way to play! My family would love to keep me but has sadly gotten too busy with their schedule to properly give me the love and attention I deserve. I would make a great family pet but need to be adopted with my brother Petey. He’s my very best friend!

We are heartbroken to be making this decision, but we are looking to rehome our beloved cat to a home where she can truly thrive.She can be a little shy at first but she is incredibly loving and curious a cat who is playful and cuddly.Unfortunately, our two dogs cause her considerable stress and she seems unable to fully relax in our home environment.We believe she would do best in a calm home with no dogs, or with very mellow dogs that completely ignore her.This has not been an easy decision as we truly love her dearly.
