Story

Yeti is a handsome 6-year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on March 11, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Florence Street in Belpre Ohio. Yeti was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. Yeti has a snow white short-haired coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Yeti was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on March 12, 2026. He weighed 9.1 lbs that day. Yeti was given booster vaccines on March 31, 2026. This sweet boy has a quiet, easygoing personality and loves attention. Yeti was examined by one of our local veterinarians on March 24th and was diagnosed as being diabetic, so he is being listed as a ‘Special Needs Kitty’ for that reason. Yeti has been given daily insulin injections and is doing very well thanks to his veterinarian who has been monitoring dosages (and the excellent care from our HSOV Feline Kennel Techs). Yeti is currently enjoying a triple-decker cat tower in the lobby of our shelter. He is ready to find a fabulous home with an individual or family who is experienced in caring for a diabetic kitty. Yeti was already neutered when he entered our shelter, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.

Story

Grady is a handsome 14-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his owner on April 29, 2026. This senior gentleman has a gray short smooth coat, a long darker gray tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a gray velvet nose, and long white whiskers. Grady has a quiet, rather shy, personality. He loves to snuggle up beneath his blankets for a sense of security. Grady does not get along with other cats, and he would do best in a quiet home without dogs since they tend to stress him out too much. Grady weighs 9 lbs. Grady has already been neutered. He is also front-paw declawed, so he would need to be an exclusive indoor-only kitty.

Story

Bowser is a handsome 8-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his owner on May 2, 2026 along with his housemate/companion (Lilly). Their owner was moving and couldn't have pets in the new residence. Bowser has a dark brown tabby-and-white shorthaired coat, a long ringed ring, and an adorable chubby tabby-and-white face with dark golden eyes, a brown tabby 'mustache' on his white muzzle, and extra-long white eyebrows and whiskers. This good-looking guy has a sweet disposition and comes to the front of his cage in anticipation of attention when anyone walks by. Bowser was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on May 8, 2026. He weighed 8 lbs that day. Since Bowser has already been neutered, he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. He would love to be back in a home with someone special to love him as much as his previous owner did.

Ellie Rose is a gorgeous 10-year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on April 17, 2026 for a very sad reason since her family was no longer able to take care of Ellie Rose. Ellie Rose has a beautiful marbled brown tabby coat with orange highlights, a patch of white on her chest/belly, white paws, a long ringed tail, and an adorable chubby face with emerald green eyes, a splash of white on her muzzle, a brown velvet nose, and extra-long white whiskers. This older girl has a sweet, easygoing personality and posed perfectly for her Petfinder/Facebook photos on April 22nd and April 24th. Ellie Rose usually comes running to the front of her large cage when she sees the slightest chance of attention from her people friends, but she is also content to quietly continue her afternoon siestas. Her owner told us that Ellie Rose is good with her people friends (including children), but that she is not good with other cats ... So Ellie Rose would prefer to be the only kitty in your life and the 'queen of the house'. Ellie Rose hadn't been around dogs in her home, so we aren't sure how she feels about canine friends. Ellie Rose was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on April 18, 2026. She weighed 9.3 lbs that day. Ellie Rose has already been spayed, so she could go home with her new family immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.

Story

Blueberry is an adorable female Torbie kitten who was brought to the HSOV on March 30, 2026 along with her five siblings (Blackberry, Gooseberry, Huckleberry and Raspberry). These tiny one-week old newborn babies were found on Paw Paw Road in the Lower Salem Ohio with no mother in sight. Thankfully two of the amazing mother cats who were in our shelter at that time raising their biological kittens accepted these five orphaned babies and literally saved their lives. Blueberry and her brother Huckleberry were raised by Mama Bear, and in their eyes, she was their real mother. Their three siblings were raised by Mama Cubby along with her biological kittens and, happily, this little family was accepted by a wonderful rescue group on April 9th. Blueberry has a brown tabby shorthaired coat with subtle orange highlights, a long ringed tail, and a cute chubby face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, a splash of white on her muzzle, and long white whiskers. Blueberry and Huckleberry have remained together after they were fully weaned, so naturally we'd love to see them adopted together since they are best friends who have never been separated since birth. They are a perfect pair and complement each other .. Blueberry is the quiet, well-behaved little sister while Huckleberry is the super playful, outgoing big brother. Blueberry and Huckleberry will be spayed/neutered in the near future (tentatively on July 6th 2026) and will soon be ready to find a forever home.

Story

Pollen is a cute male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on April 22, 2026 along with his five siblings (Bee, Bud, Fern, Haruki and Moss) and his mother (Ostara). This little family was found on Francis Road in the Lowell Ohio area where momma Ostara was doing her best to take care of her babies who were just 4-weeks old at that time. Pollen has a white shorthaired coat with a few patches of gray, a long gray tail, and a a beautiful white-and-gray face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Pollen was given vaccinations and Pyrantel wormer on April 29, 2026. Pollen was given booster vaccines on May 19th and June 3rd 2026. He weighed 2.2 lbs on June 2nd. Pollen has a sweet, affectionate kitten personality. He was a pleasure to photograph when he posed beautifully for his 'big boy' pictures. Pollen loves his brothers/sisters with whom he is sharing a triple cage in The Jungle Room. Pollen is good with other cats and also with children. Pollen will be neutered in the near future (tentatively on July 6, 2026) and will soon be ready to find a loving home. Pollen was neutered on July 6, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 3.9 lbs that day.
