Story

Yeti is a handsome 6-year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on March 11, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Florence Street in Belpre Ohio. Yeti was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. Yeti has a snow white short-haired coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Yeti was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on March 12, 2026. He weighed 9.1 lbs that day. Yeti was given booster vaccines on March 31, 2026. This sweet boy has a quiet, easygoing personality and loves attention. Yeti was examined by one of our local veterinarians on March 24th and was diagnosed as being diabetic, so he is being listed as a ‘Special Needs Kitty’ for that reason. Yeti has been given daily insulin injections and is doing very well thanks to his veterinarian who has been monitoring dosages (and the excellent care from our HSOV Feline Kennel Techs). Yeti is currently enjoying a triple-decker cat tower in the lobby of our shelter. He is ready to find a fabulous home with an individual or family who is experienced in caring for a diabetic kitty. Yeti was already neutered when he entered our shelter, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.

Story

Tootin' is an adorable male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on June 2nd 2026 along with his brother Rootin') after Good Samaritans found the boys on State Route 26 in the Marietta Ohio area. Tootin' and Rootin' were tiny 6-week old babies at that time. Tootin' has a white shorthaired coat with gray tabby markings in a van pattern. Tootin' has a long tray/white ringed tail and a cute (rather mischievous-looking) face with golden eyes, gray tabby markings on the top of his head/base of his ears, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Tootin' was given Pyrantel dewormer and vaccinations on June 24, 2026. He was given booster vaccines on July 16- and August 5, 2026. Tootin' weighed 2.8 lbs on August 5th. These photos of Tootin' were taken on September 6th while he displayed his fancy footwork as he pussyfooted through the pumpkin patch and also batted tiny toy balls around. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos for assisting Tootin' with his big boy pictures. This little playboy has a sweet disposition and is full of playful kitten energy. Tootin' and Rootin' complement each other in that Tootin' is the self-proclaimed activities director with a Type 'A' outgoing personality and is in charge of fun-and-games. Rootin' is the more quiet of the pair and also has a sweet, lovable personality. Tootin' and Rootin' will be neutered before being adopted by their new family/families (a requirement for HSOV adoptions to be finalized). These boys would be a wonderful addition to your household if they were adopted together (hint, hint)

Story

Rootin' is a cute male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on June 2nd 2026 along with his brother (Tootin') after Good Samaritans found the boys on State Route 26 in the Marietta Ohio area. Rootin' and Tootin' were tiny 6-week old babies at that time. Rootin' has a white shorthaired coat with orange tabby markings in a van pattern. Rootin' has a long orange/white ringed tail and an adorable face with golden eyes, orange tabby markings at the base of his orange tabby ears, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. He was given Pyrantel dewormer and vaccinations on June 24, 2026. Rootin' was given booster vaccines on July 16- and August 5, 2026. He weighed 2.8 lbs on August 5th. These photos of Rootin' were taken on September 6th while he scampered around the 'pumpkin patch' in our studio. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos for assisting Rootin' with his big boy pictures. This little man has a very sweet personality and is quite playful. Rootin' and Tootin' complement each other in that Rootin' is a bit more calm while Tootin' is the self-proclaimed activities director in charge of fun-and-games. Rootin' and Tootin' will be neutered before being adopted by their new family/families (a requirement for HSOV adoptions to be finalized). Soy Sauce is a handsome male Tuxedo kitten who was brought to the HSOV on June 9th 2026 along with his sister (Sushi) after they were found fending for themselves on Meadow Lane in Marietta Ohio. Soy Sauce and Sushi were tiny 8-week old babies at that time. Soy Sauce has a shiny black shorthaired coat with a patch of white on his chest in a tuxedo pattern, white socks on his paws, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and extra-long white whiskers (and one extra-long eyebrow!) This little playboy was given Pyrantel dewormer and vaccinations on June 11th 2026. He weighed 2.2 lbs that day. Soy Sauce was given booster vaccines on July 1st and August 1st 2026. Soy Sauce has a playful, outgoing personality and is the more dominant sibling. Soy Sauce is the 'big brother' who acts as his little sister's 'security blanket' and engages her in playtime. They have been kept together since the first day of their arrival and are currently sharing a double-wide cage in The Jungle Room where most of our adoptable cats are housed. These photos of Soy Sauce were taken on September 6th 2026 with thanks to HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos who helped him with his big boy pictures in our 'studio'. Soy Sauce posed like a Kitten Fancy Magazine model and even gave us his best rendition of his 'downward kitten yoga' poses. Soy Sauce will be neutered before being adopted by his new family (a requirement for HSOV adoptions to be finalized). Naturally we'd love to see Soy Sauce and Sushi adopted together.

Cheddar Bob (Neutered)

Story

Cheddar Bob is a magnificent 3-year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on August 5th 2026 after he was found on Woodruff Road in the Vincent Ohio area. This handsome guy has an orange tabby short-haired coat, a long ringed tail, and an awesome chubby face with pale golden/amber-colored eyes, a pink nose, and extra-long white whiskers. Cheddar Bob is a fairly big boy who weighed 10 lbs on August 5th. Cheddar Bob has a friendly, rather shy, personality. He likes to have his head and ears petted/massaged. Cheddar Bob seems to be good with other cats/kittens. Cheddar Bob had suffered an injury on his left front leg prior to entering our shelter. He was examined by one of our wonderful local veterinarians who determined that the injury was a result from an old gunshot wound and that the bone was fully calcified around the break. Since the break was fully healed and not causing Cheddar Bob pain, he has adapted to using that leg and an amputation was not necessary. Cheddar Bob was neutered on August 26th 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. These photos of Cheddar Bob were taken on August 29th 2026 in the Receiving area of our shelter while he was relaxing after his neuter procedure. Cheddar Bob is currently in The Jungle Room where the majority of our adoptable cats are housed .. And he is ready to begin interviewing candidates (i.e., adopters) to become his new family.

Story

Waffle is a beautiful 4-month old female Torbie kitten who arrived at HSOV on July 26th 2026 along with her three siblings (Bacon, Bagel, and Pancake) and her mother (Maple). Unfortunately the individual(s) who entrusted them to our care did not provide any information about them. Waffle has a unique brown-and-orange/bronze marbled shorthaired coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, a dusting of white on her muzzle/chin, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. This little sweetheart has a lovable, playful personality. Waffle is good with other cats and also with children. Waffle was given vaccinations and Pyrtantel dewormer on July 26th. She was given booster vaccines August 15th 2026. Maple was separated recently from her kittens since they were fully weaned. So mother Maple is enjoying some quiet, peaceful relaxation while resting on her laurels after being the most perfect momma to her youngsters. Waffle and her sisters (Bacon and Pancake) are currently enjoying their own 'apartment' (a double-wide cage in The Jungle Room). Their brother (Bagel) has an approved adoption pending and is enjoying a temporary home with his new family while he awaits his neuter procedure. These photos of Waffle were taken late in the afternoon on September 4th 2026 while she explored new territory in our 'studio' and strolled through the 'pumpkin patch' and fall foliage. This young lady is a gentle soul with an aura of innocence, and she enjoyed the simple pleasures of playing with autumn leaves as her new play toys. Waffle weighed 3.3 lbs that day. Waffle will be spayed in the near future (tentatively on October 12th) and will soon be ready to find a loving home. Naturally we'd love to see her adopted with one (or both) of her sisters. Update: Waffle has an adoption pending as of October 8th 2026. Waffle was spayed on October 12th 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 4.34 lbs that day. Happy Update: Waffle was adopted on October 13th 2026. Unfortunately, Waffle was returned by her new family on November 3rd 2026 (through no fault of her own) since their resident cat was not getting along with Waffle and did not want the new arrival in his/her home. So another lucky family/individual will have an opportunity to adopt this little dollbaby (Waffle).
