Story
Yeti is a handsome 6-year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on March 11, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Florence Street in Belpre Ohio. Yeti was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. Yeti has a snow white short-haired coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Yeti was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on March 12, 2026. He weighed 9.1 lbs that day. Yeti was given booster vaccines on March 31, 2026. This sweet boy has a quiet, easygoing personality and loves attention. Yeti was examined by one of our local veterinarians on March 24th and was diagnosed as being diabetic, so he is being listed as a ‘Special Needs Kitty’ for that reason. Yeti has been given daily insulin injections and is doing very well thanks to his veterinarian who has been monitoring dosages (and the excellent care from our HSOV Feline Kennel Techs). Yeti is currently enjoying a triple-decker cat tower in the lobby of our shelter. He is ready to find a fabulous home with an individual or family who is experienced in caring for a diabetic kitty. Yeti was already neutered when he entered our shelter, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.

Story
Bowser is a handsome 8-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his owner on May 2, 2026 along with his housemate/companion (Lilly). Their owner was moving and couldn't have pets in the new residence. Bowser has a dark brown tabby-and-white shorthaired coat, a long ringed ring, and an adorable chubby tabby-and-white face with dark golden eyes, a brown tabby 'mustache' on his white muzzle, and extra-long white eyebrows and whiskers. This good-looking guy has a sweet disposition and comes to the front of his cage in anticipation of attention when anyone walks by. Bowser was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on May 8, 2026. He weighed 8 lbs that day. Since Bowser has already been neutered, he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. He would love to be back in a home with someone special to love him as much as his previous owner did.

Story
Grady is a handsome 14-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his owner on April 29, 2026. This senior gentleman has a gray short smooth coat, a long darker gray tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a gray velvet nose, and long white whiskers. Grady has a quiet, rather shy, personality. He loves to snuggle up beneath his blankets for a sense of security. Grady does not get along with other cats, and he would do best in a quiet home without dogs since they tend to stress him out too much. Grady weighs 9 lbs. Grady has already been neutered. He is also front-paw declawed, so he would need to be an exclusive indoor-only kitty.

Story
Peep is sweet 9-year old female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on November 22, 2025 because she was in need of medical attention. Peep has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and a beautiful face with hopeful trusting eyes, a splash of white on her muzzle/chin, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. This senior kitty's name "Peep" may sound familiar to some of our HSOV volunteers/followers since she originally came to our shelter on March 1, 2022. Peep was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on March 1, 2022. She was also combo tested and is negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm. Peep weighed 6.8 lbs that day. We've noted on her intake procedures form that Peep is missing a few teeth, so we wish that we knew more about her past history. Peep was examined by a veterinarian on March 7, 2022 who verified that she has already been spayed. Peep was given rabies vaccine while at the clinic. She weighed 6.8 lbs that day. Peep was adopted March 13, 2022 but came back to our shelter on July 21, 2022. It seemed that the family's home was too active and stressful for Peep since there were several small children who frightened her ... And Peep always sought a quiet place away from the noise/activity. So Peep was again looking for a loving home. We were happy that Peep was adopted on October 8, 2022 and felt that she had found her forever .. But unfortunately Peep was returned on November 22, 2025 and was in need of medical attention. Peep was diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and has responded/doing well with Predisone treatments. Peep was given updated vaccinations on December 11, 2025. Peep is not good with other cats or dogs, so she would likely do best as an 'only child/single cat' in a home. Peep is good with her human friends. She is ok with older children but young/small kids tend to make her nervous. These updated photos of Peep were taken on March 31, 2026. She is currently enjoying a double-wide cage in The Jungle Room where the majority of our adoptable cats are housed. This senior kitty would love to find her forever home. Peep is long past the silly, destructive kitten stage of her life and is looking for the perfect home to live her golden retirement years to the fullest. She would be very happy and content to be in a quiet home with soft blankets/beds and perhaps a sunny window to enjoy catnaps in the sunshine. We hope that the old saying "Third Time's A Charm" will hold true for Peep and that there is a compassionate guardian angel who will offer Peep her dream home~ Update 5/17/2026: Peep is currently being showcased at WeLovPets (Lafayette Plaza, Marietta Ohio) where she is available for adoption through HSOV. Please stop by WeLovPets to meet Peep in person and also the wonderful staff at WeLovPets who are fantastic supporters of our shelter.

Story
Stoic is a handsome 2-1/2 year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on May 18, 2026 and entrusted to our care. Stoic has a brown tabby-and-white shorthaired coat, a long tail, and an adorable chubby face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. He has a tiny brown tabby 'beauty mark' on the left side of his nose/muzzle. Stoic was given vaccinations and Pyrantel wormer on June 1st 2026. Stoic is a big boy who weighed 12 lbs when he entered our shelter on May 18th. These photos of Stoic were taken on May 28th and May 29th after Stoic was moved to The Jungle Room where many of our adoptable cats are housed. Stoic loved attention (and 'good boy' treats) from HSOV Volunteer/Board Member Mel Hartz on May 28th when she helped him pose for his 'sit pretty' photos. Since he was not reclaimed, Stoic was neutered on June 8, 2026 and given rabies vaccine. He weighed 10.9 lbs that day since he missed his overnight snacks due to an early morning road trip for his neuter appointment. Stoic is ready to find a terrific home of his very own.

Story
Abbott & Robby are an adorable pair of male kittens who were brought to the HSOV on May 6, 2026 along with their brothers (Langdon & Whitaker). This little band of brothers were found in the Whipple Ohio area with no mother in sight. They were estimated to have been 7-8 weeks old at that time. Abbott (pictured on the left) has a brown tabby-and-white shorthaired coat, a long ringed tail, and a cute tabby/white kitten face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Abbott weighed 1.6 lbs on May 6th. Robby (pictured on the right) has a gray shorthaired coat, a long tail, and a precious kitten face with hazel-colored eyes, a gray velvet nose, and long gray whiskers. Robby weighed 1.4 lbs on May 6th. Abbott & Robby were given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on May 7, 2026. They were given booster vaccines on June 10, 2026. Both Abbott & Robby have sweet, playful personalities and love to romp/play silly kitten games before snuggling up for a nap/bedtime. Abbott & Robby were neutered on June 8th 2026 and were also given rabies vaccine. Abbott weighed 2.18 lbs that day while Robby weighed 2.1 lbs. Abbott & Robby are ready to find a fabulous home. Naturally we'd love to see them adopted together and continue to have each other for a playmate. Their siblings (Langdon & Whitaker) have shared a cage with each other since their arrival. They will be neutered in the near future (tentatively on July 6th 2026) and will soon be ready to find a home of their very own. Update: Abbott was adopted late in the afternoon of June 12, 2026. Robby is still available for adoption and is now sharing a double-wide cage with his brothers Langdon and Whitaker.
