Story
Hope was adopted from the ASPCA. She’s a sweet snuggly love bug. She comes with all her necessary supplies and plenty of toys etc. I am sad to have to rehome her however due to my work schedule she is not getting the love and attention that she needs.

Check out our Facebook page for daily updates and videos too! First year vaccines and spay/neuter included in adoption fee.* Ice Pop is one of Mama Poppy’s 6 little “popsicles.” Mama Poppy had been living as a stray, and thankfully a kind woman patiently gained her trust so she could bring Mama and her babies (who were born out in the woods) safely inside until rescue could be found. Since joining our rescue when the babies were one week old, Mama Poppy has been incredibly sweet, affectionate, and clearly so grateful to finally feel safe and not have to worry about food or staying warm. And her six little ones are just like her. They’re playful, hilarious, adorable, curious, and definitely getting very spoiled in foster care. Miss Congeniality, Ice Pop, will be 6 weeks old on 5/21 and I have to admit… she’s one of my favorites. I know, I know… rescuers aren’t supposed to have favorites. But the second I walk into the room, she comes running over to greet me, every single time. She is incredibly outgoing and affectionate, and full of personality already. And those little black spots like a cow? SO Cute! And her tiny black specks beside her nose make her even more darling. Ice Pop currently weighs 1.22 pounds and is growing beautifully in foster care thanks to her phenomenal Mama Poppy and now eating on her own of course too. The kittens are all eating kibble and canned food, and of course, using the litter box. Ice Pop spends her days playing with her siblings, exploring everything she can find, and loving all the attention anytime a human enters the room. Our kitten adoption fee of $100 includes first year kitten vaccines and their 3 boosters, neuter when age/weight appropriate, rabies vaccine, multiple parasite screenings and dewormings, and of course, a microchip too! We have 11 vet partners for you to choose from for the vet care included in our adoption fee that has not been completed at time of adoption due to the age of the kitties. They are located in Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, Mebane, Hillsborough. Roxboro, and 3 locations in Danville! Apply to adopt by completing our non binding adoption application on our website VintageRacersForRescues.com. IMPORTANT: YOU MAY NEED TO USE THE TAB BUTTON TO GET TO THE SUBMIT BUTTON ON THE APPLICATION. Once approved to adopt, we can set up a meet and greet in their foster home in Blanch, NC. We are 20 minutes from Danville, VA, 5 minutes from Yanceyville, NC and an easy 1 hour drive from Durham, Greensboro or Chapel Hill.

Story
Check out our Facebook page with lots of pics and videos daily* Say hello to ZUZU! This little sweetheart has had quite the journey in the first nine weeks of her life. Zuzu found herself at the Danville Humane Society after someone witnessed her being thrown from an SUV. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stopped immediately, scooped her up, and rushed her to safety at the shelter. At the time, she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection, which the shelter treated right away. A week later, you would have never known any of that had happened to her. We gave her some time to get used to being spoiled and the amazing life she deserves and got to know her during that time too. It has now been a couple weeks since that day that could’ve turned out much worse, but now that day is far behind in her rearview mirror. Despite such a heartbreaking start, Zuzu is one of the sweetest, most affectionate, confident, and funniest kittens imaginable. She has personality plus! The day she joined us in foster care. She had the Zumiez like I’ve never seen so the name Zuzu just came naturally. At her recent vet appointment, she hopped right out of the carrier like she owned the place. She cruised around the exam room checking everything out, happily let the vet assistants and techs do their thing, and when the doctor came in, she was more than happy to be examined. She wasn’t phased one bit by any pokes or tests. Her feline leukemia and FIV tests were negative, her parasite screening was negative, she received her microchip, and she didn’t even bat a pretty little eyelash through any of it. She was honestly one of the happiest little patients we’ve ever seen. She had her first vaccine at the shelter and and isn’t due for her next vaccine until the 31st, so we got to skip that part today. Then came the funniest part. As we were wrapping up the appointment, I said, “Are you ready to go back to your foster home, little girl?” and Zuzu promptly walked right over, climbed into her carrier all by herself, plopped down, and made herself comfortable. We all just started laughing. It was absolutely adorable. Her joy is so unreal and honestly contagious. We are incredibly grateful that she was not seriously injured when she was thrown from that vehicle. The Danville Humane Society even offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the person responsible. We do not know whether that individual was ever identified. What we do know is Zuzu is safe, loved and we will make sure that is always the case. Zuzu’s future is going to be absolutely beautiful, just like her! The remainder of her first year, kitten, vaccines and boosters, spay when age/weight appropriate and rabies vaccine are all included in her $100 adoption fee. We have 11 vet partners for you to choose from for the Vet care that we pay for that is included in the adoption fee. They are located in Raleigh, Durham, Hillsborough, Roxboro, Mebane, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Greensboro, and three locations in Danville. Story
Check out our Facebook page for more pics daily. We do expect a lot of interest in our little cutie pie Winchester so we appreciate your patience as we review applications that come in over the next couple of weeks. If not familiar with this breed, please do some research, as they do come with potential lifelong health issues. Little Winchester joined our rescue when he was just six weeks old and dropped off at the Shelter with his Scottish Fold daddy. The adult cat was adopted, but Winchester was still a baby so we picked him up along with a fluffy, long haired gal that he became friends with and we named Virginia. We happened to be traveling to Winchester, Virginia for a vintage car race. (that’s where our name comes from), so the two kitties came along. They had a blast with us and were spoiled 24/7 by humans as well as our two dogs along for the trip. (Yellow Lab and Poodle Aussie mix). They were great little passengers for a week and then came home and quickly made themselves at home in our kitty clubhouse foster area. Winchester is confident, playful and loves to snuggle and of course he loves playing with other kittens. He will be available for adoption after his vet appointment the week of May 25th. Winchester’s first year kitten vaccines and boosters, neuter when age/weight appropriate, FIV & FELV testing, parasite screening, and multiple dewormings, rabies vaccine, and microchip are all included in his $100 adoption fee. We have 11 vet partners for you to choose from for the Vet care that we pay for that is included in the adoption fee. Story
Check out our Facebook page for new pics daily. Mama Poppy and her 6 little ones (her Popsicles) came to us when Poppy was living as a stray and delivered her babies outside in the woods. Thankfully, a kind woman gained her trust and was able to bring her and the kittens to safety inside her home until we were able to pick them up when the kittens were about one week old. May 18, 2026: Mama Poppy and I were up bright and early to head to Roxboro Animal Hospital for her wellness exam, vaccines, FIV, Feline Leukemia and Heartworm test, and parasite screening. And guess what, she got a perfect score on all parts of her test! This stellar Mama to our 6 Popsicle kittens thought this was a fun little outing! Her milk had already started drying up quite a bit now that her littles are chowing on food themselves, so we were able to schedule her spay and vaccine boosters in 3 weeks. She also will get her microchip at that time. Poppy weighed 6.7 pounds today and is looking petite and slim now that she is not full of milk and carrying any baby weight, lol. We LOVE this sweet mama. She reminds of recent alumni Mama Boomchickapop and current mama in rescue Mama Moon. All 3 are beautiful, VERY affectionate and social calicos. Mama Poppy will be ready for her forever home after her spay on June 9th. If interested in meeting Poppy to see if she is a good fit for your family please complete our non-binding adoption application on our website VintageRacersForRescues.com. Her adoption fee is $50. Once approved to adopt, we can set up a meet and greet in our foster home in Blanch, NC. We are 5 minutes from Yanceyville and an easy one hour drive from Durham. We are 20 minutes from Danville, VA.
