Krissy 1.5 year old female Chihuahua/Terrier mix 11 lbs. Fully vetted Fenced yard required Meet sweet Krissy, AKA "Fuzzy". We are looking for a low traffic home for this girl. Initially shy around people she does not know, she warms up relatively quickly with patience especially if she is given treats or held. Food is the way to her heart. She loves playing with other dogs even long after they get tired of wrestling. As dogs do help her with confidence, we would like for there to be at least one pup friend in her home. We also require a fenced yard because being leashed scares her. She is crate trained and sees her crate as her safe space when overwhelmed. She came to us having been trained using puppy pads. She is doing very well with house training outside. She is still carried to the door because she gets sidetracked easily. In spite of having loads of energy, Krissy knows how to entertain herself. Zela is a 13-year-old senior girl who returned to Furkids after years in a home when her previous owner could no longer care for her. She is a sweet, sensitive girl with a big personality and very unique needs as she continues to age. Zela is deaf and is also showing signs consistent with dementia. This means she may become confused at times, especially in the mornings, and can feel scared or unsettled until she fully wakes up. During these moments, she benefits from calm reassurance and gentle affection. Once awake, she typically settles in and does well. In the evenings, Zela can become more restless, often pacing or having bursts of energy that may include playful zoomies. She can also be mouthy during these times, which is not aggression but rather part of her excitement. Zela does not always have strong self-preservation awareness and may try to climb or jump in unsafe ways. Because of this, she requires a secure home environment and careful supervision to keep her safe. She can also be stubborn at times, especially around transitions like bedtime or getting ready for outings, and does best when allowed to move at her own pace. She is crate and house trained but dislikes being picked up and needs a patient, understanding home that uses positive reinforcement and respects her boundaries. Due to her needs, she is not suited for a home with small or young children. Zela is a very special senior who forms strong bonds with her person and enjoys calm companionship.
