Story
Cruz is a 2-year-old Chipin (Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix) whose birthday is January 31st, 2024. He’s a sweet, funny, and sassy little guy with a big personality. Cruz is very loyal to his person and listens well once he feels comfortable. Because he wasn’t well socialized early on, he can be reactive out of fear and may need a little time to warm up to new people and environments. Once he feels safe, he’s incredibly affectionate and loves being around his person. Cruz can sometimes have submissive or excited urination when he gets scared or overly excited, which is common in sensitive small dogs and improves with patience and confidence-building. He would do best in a calm home with someone patient who understands small dogs and is willing to continue helping him build confidence. With the right person, Cruz will be a loving and entertaining companion.

Story
We found Chico roaming our neighborhood in November. We had found out through the next door app that one of our previous neighbors had moved and just left him. We had noticed him wandering around every day for about 3 weeks u til we were finally able to gain his trust. We have 2 small kids that he loves to play with however is very protective of the and has scratched and nipped 2 kids under those circumstances. He will listen, but is stubborn, loves to be outside, play fetch and run around and looks forward to his nightly walks. He is predominantly chihuahua so he will bark and growl at strangers but is a sweetheart once he warms up. He is also not fixed so we have had issues with him marking around the house. He’s very responsive to food and treats but you can’t leave a plate lying around xxxx@xxxx.x is honestly a wonderfully sweet dog. We fully intended to keep him with our family but after these six months and the issues we’ve had we have decided that he needs a better home.

Story
Moe Howard - Small Pup, Big Personality! Say hello to  Moe Howard , an adorable 5-month-old pup weighing just 6 pounds! Moe may be tiny, but he’s full of charm, cuddles, and playful energy. He’s doing wonderfully with his crate and house training, and he’s just beginning his leash training adventure. Moe is a confident little guy at home, especially when playing with his sister Molly Ringwald—so a home with another playful dog would be a big bonus! He’s still learning how to warm up to new people, so trips to pet-friendly places like Lowe’s or outdoor shopping centers are helping him build trust and social confidence.  This little sweetheart loves to burrow into blankets and dog beds and has the cutest prance you’ve ever seen. And check out those ears—his foster mom thinks they might stand up soon! We believe he is a mix of  Chihuahua, Miniature Pinscher, and Rat Terrier just like his foster sister, Molly Ringwald. If you’re looking for a snuggly, spunky companion with room to grow and learn, Moe Howard might just be the perfect match. Story
Senora Bubbles is a tender-hearted little 11 year old 9lb lady who wants so badly to love and be loved. She may be a bit nervous at first, but once she feels safe, her gentle spirit shines. Bubbles is the perfect match for someone who enjoys earning the trust of a shy dog and watching her bloom into a loyal, loving companion. Story
Bruce Barrow is a 6-year-old, 11.5 pound, small mixed breed (maybe Min Pin - Chihuahua - terrier?) whose soft spirit makes him impossible not to love. He came to AAU rescue a bit underweight, and should fill out to around 14 pounds with steady meals and kindness.   Shy at first meeting, Bruce is the kind of dog who watches the world carefully before deciding it’s safe. Give him a little time, and his whole demeanor transforms. Once he trusts you, he becomes sweet, gentle, and oh-so-affectionate. Pick him up, and he just melts right into your arms like he’s been waiting his whole life for a person to hold him close.   Bruce Barrow would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands the magic of slow introductions and soft encouragement. He doesn’t need loud or busy - he just needs someone who will let him blossom at his own pace.   If you’re looking for a tender-hearted companion, who will reward your kindness with deep, loyal love,  Bruce Barrow is ready to meet you. Story
Leah Lady is a 12-year-old 14lb Terrier mix. Leah Lady is very sassy and alpha and doesn’t act her age. She’s timid and skittish when meeting new people and needs time to warm up. But what a love once she’s comfortable. She is house-trained in her foster home and does well in her crate. Her hearing is excellent, and she is a barker. In the yard, she runs around barking at birds and any neighbor or their dog that happens to appear. She also barks at Thunder!! Lady can not live in an apartment or condo.  The lady appears to have had little socialization and enjoys her new experiences, especially walking. Younger children make her nervous. She does better with teens, but it takes time.  She would do fine as an only dog. She’s very affectionate, and it’s all about her. I have two other dogs, and she wants a lot of attention. Lady loves toys but doesn’t like to share, and neither does my other foster, so unfortunately, there are no toys. She doesn’t resource guard with me but apparently will with another dog. She may be okay with another dog, depending on its disposition. She likes my other dog, and there are no issues with it, but he’s 14.  Lady is blind in her left eye from a large cataract. She sees well out of her right eye, though there is also a smaller cataract in the left eye. The pressure in the left eye will need to be monitored. She also had a mammary tumor removed with her spay. It was cancerous, but the margins were clear, and her chest X-ray was good. This will also need to be monitored. The frequency should be every 6 to 12 months, depending on the adopter's vet’s best practice.   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
