Story
Lilo 6 year old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix 8 lbs. Fully vetted and undergoing heartworm treatment Hi! My name is Lilo! I am 100% velcro dog and full of love once I get to know someone new. Interested in being my new family? Don't let my missing leg fool you. I do just fine even on 3. I was hit by a car before coming into rescue, and my foot was shattered beyond repair. So the leg had to go. Even throughout all the pain, I've been the best girl and never showed any aggression towards people helping me. Like most Chihuahuas, it takes me a little time to be okay with someone new, but once you give me treats, I'll be your best friend. I will protect you from strangers too. I am crate trained and house trained. I learned very fast about routines after watching the other dogs here. Speaking of them, I tolerate their presence WITH SLOW AND PROPER INTRODUCTIONS, but I have no interest in cuddling with or playing with them. I would much rather spend time with people and will either lick someone's leg or sit adorably in front of them and whine to be placed on furniture. A few notes about my ideal home: 1 I refuse to do my business on leash, so I need a fenced yard. 2 I can't walk up and down stairs. None of those please. 3 My new humans must understand that keeping my weight on the leaner side is ideal since I only have 3 legs. Being overweight means I will develop arthritis in my remaining back leg more quickly. 4 I can be a little picky with food at first while getting used to a new home, but don't worry. It is temporary. Because of all I've been through, the rescue is doing slow kill heartworm treatment with me. I get a generic of Advantage Multi each month and just finished a course of Doxycycline to help kill the bacteria from heartworms. I should be retested in April, and due to no symptoms, they expect I'll be negative then." If you have any questions, please email mpmrgeorgia@gmail.com. If interested in adopting me, complete the adoption application at http://tinyurl.com/mpmrapp Note: MPMR requires that all animals in the home are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccines (unless there is a verifiable medical reason), and on heartworm prevention.

Story
Hi! My name is Pagani and I am looking for a very special forever home! I am very shy and timid when I first meet people... but once I'm comfortable and know you're nice I will love you unconditionally! I LOVE to snuggle, but I also LOVE to run and play with all of my foster siblings. I love to hide my bones and treats to save for later, sometimes I even burry them. I can jump really really really high. My foster mom calles me jumping bean (I don't get it). My foster mom also calls me sassy, which I totally get that one. I have a lot of energy and I feel safest and most comfortable with another dog around, so I really want my forever family to have another dog that can show me the ropes and how to trust my new family. I'm still growing and I'm still learning about a lot of things. I do know that I absolutely do not like the thing that cleans up my messes!! I think it's called a vaccum cleaner?? I am learning to be independent and explore, so I'm just now confident enough to explore our backyard with my foster siblings. I know how to potty on those squares my foster mom puts in the floor for me, but I am starting to potty in the grass as well! I'm not going to be very big when I'm all grown up, but don't worry I can hold my own! Some of my foster siblings are 3 times my size and we play like crazy. I prefer to have a sibling young enough that can keep up with my silly/crazy play style. I went through a phase where my foster mom made me sleep in a metal thing until I stopped pottying in the wrong places and I HATED IT. I get to sleep in the bed with her now and I love to cuddle and keep her warm. Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##1818768##

Story
Hi! My name is Lotus - I also go by sweet girl, ducky, and treats! I absolutely love to cuddle and give kisses, but I am also very timid and shy around new people... I can't help but nervous pee a little bit when I'm feeling overwhelmed. I am looking for a family that will be patient with me while I learn to adjust to the new people and a new space. Once I'm comfortable - I love being silly goofy me! My foster mom and I play a game called fetch with my little tennis ball and I love it so so much! I love to bring her toys and treats and she helps me hide them for later. I got pretty great with learning how to potty outside using a doggy door, but the outside scares me sometimes so I still use potty pads inside. I LOVE other dogs! I have lots of foster siblings of allllll sizes and we have an absolute blast playing tug of war, wrestling, and singing. I really really hate being alone, so I sleep in the bed with my foster family and I get up and potty on potty pads if I need to go in the middle of the night. My foster mom calls me her little heater since I keep her nice and toasty at night. If my new home has another dog they need to be able to correct me and put up with my puppy play style - my super old foster brother does not like me very much because I play too rough for him. He's so boring. I love sweaters, bones, big teddy bears, and watching tv. If I get scared I will find a really good hiding spot until I feel safe, so my new home needs to have a fenced in yard so I don't get lost! If you have a nice warm home with lots of love and snuggles to give .. I'm your girl!  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. Story
Our hearts hurt for Kai. His owner could no longer take care of him and his best buddy Oliver (ID# 652086). They arrived to the shelter on 11/28. Kai is 12 years young and weighs in at approximately 12 pounds. He is as sweet as can be but a bit scared of his new surroundings. Imagine not having a home after so many years? It is reported that he is good with children and house-trained. Do you have a heart for an older gentleman? Can he spend his golden years in your home covered with love? Ask for ID# 652083 Run T3. He is neutered. He will be micro-chipped and heart worm tested upon adoption. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays. The shelter prefers people to make an appointment, go to - https://nqa3.nemoqappointment.com/Booking/Booking/Index/as65fg9dr953 and select Adoption. You can also show up between 10:30 & 4:00 Tues. thru Sun. (shelter closes at 4:30), you might have to wait a few minutes until someone can help you. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heart worm or combo test and a microchip. When you book an appointment, it doesn't reserve a particular pet for you. Thank you for considering a Cobb pet!

Story
I’m a sweet Chickadie! I’m a 6-year-old, 22.8 pound Chiweenie (Dachsund/Chihuahua mix). I have a calm, gentle demeanor, love walks, toys, hanging out next to my foster mom and I rarely bark. I am great with dogs and people. I am potty-trained, crate-trained, spayed, and up to date on shots. When I’m walking on leash, I do not pull or react to dogs or other people. I also like car rides. I ended up back with Angels when my former owner had her own health issues and could no longer care for me. I am in good health. I do have skin allergies, but I responded well to the treatment - although I may but may to continue taking medicine to keep my allergies under control. I do need to lose a few pounds, but I’m working on getting back in shape. I am very lovable and will do well in a home with humans who enjoy taking me on walks and want a loyal, calm, loving companion.     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.          November 29, 2023, 10:54 am

Story
Four year old Chihuahua-dachshund mix, Nicodemus, carries the name of a Greek Saint and for good reason - he's kind, patient and loves his people. At just 12 lbs he's a perfect-sized gentleman who is well behaved, fully potty and leash trained and most comfortable being close to his companion. When meeting new people, he is a bit shy at first and takes his time getting to know you. But once he does, he'll be right by your side indulging in his favorite activity - snuggles.  As with most smaller breed dogs, he prefers to cuddle over exercise but does walk nicely on a leash. According to his foster mom, his perfect evening would be spent burrowing under a blanket sleeping next to his person where he will feel super loved, safe and cozy. Nicodemus is a calm boy who would do best in an adult-only environment as an only dog or living with other small dogs. He would also be fine with older teens who understand how to be gentle with such a little guy who has so much to give. He doesn't love to be crated because he wants to be close to his humans! And although in great health, in the past he had dental issues that have been resolved and was also diagnosed with a heart murmur. While not significant, his murmur should be watched and checked by a vet periodically for any changes to his condition.    Are you looking for a sweet faced, gentle fur angel to keep you company and change your world for the better? If so, Nicodemus is ready to meet you! Story
What's up?!  I am Tribal Bones, an energetic 11 year old, 8lb chihuahua boy.  I am HW+ at the moment, but have started treatment and am ready to find my perfect family.  I love to play, but can be a little bit of a bossy player... and very loving so need to find someone that can handle that. I am very sweet and give fast kisses.  The vet said I may be one-eyed soon... will also be having a dental and will get neutered.  I'm going to feel like a new man when I'm done!  I'd love to meet you!         An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions.
