I love this little dog so much. My mom bought him for me as a gift to get me through a rough patch with a divorce and the passing of my previous dog. He has always been my lap dog and constant companion. I got remarried 4.5 years ago and he did not get along with my stepkids. More recently my wife and I have had two more (3 years and a 2 month old) and he is anxious, skittish, shows signs of aggression towards the children. He is now 13 and recently went deaf. Keeping him sequestered has made him very unhappy and we have a great deal of tension in the household now. I want what’s best for the family and for Sam. I am happy to pay for all of his food and vet care for the duration of his life but I need him in a great home where he will be loved and enjoy being a lap dog once more.

Lucy is a young Chihuahua-terrier mix. She is a tiny 11 pounds and about 13 months old. She is feisty, affectionate and a real flight risk. She was originally found running loose. If she feels no one is paying attention to her, off she goes. She will also take off after any pesky squirrel she sees so she needs a REALLY secure, above ground, fenced yard. She’s so little she can squeeze through a hand’s worth of space. She would not be a good match for small children. Lucy loves to sit in laps, snuggle and relax but is young enough to be very active. Meet Piper— an adorable Chihuahua mix! (Perhaps a Chiweenie?) She is around two years old and weighs about 13 pounds. Piper found herself in a local shelter after being seized by authorities in a horrific hoarding case. Due to her lack of socialization, she was at risk for euthanasia. Thankfully, Tiny Paws was able to step up and save her! Due to her past, Piper is a nervous girl and is still learning how to trust, love, and feel safe in this world! Piper’s journey in her foster home hasn’t always been easy, but she’s made great progress. She is still very skittish and easily startled, so she’s looking for an experienced, calm, and understanding adopter who can continue the gentle, patient care she’s been receiving in her foster home. She enjoys snuggling and playing with her foster siblings and we would love to see her go to a home with a confident dog around her size to help show her the ropes! What Piper needs most is a consistent environment where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. With time, love, and patience, we know this sweet girl will continue to shine! Piper is not comfortable on a leash and will require a secure, private fenced-in yard where she can safely play, explore, and potty. Preston is a 2-year-old mixed breed cutie who weighs 14 pounds. Preston and his sister Penny came from a hoarding situation that landed them in a local county shelter. Due to their skittish nature and fear of humans, they were at a high risk for euthanasia. Luckily for them, Tiny Paws was able to step up and pull them from the shelter. They have since come a long way. Penny has found herself a new home and now we are looking for a foster-to-adopt or adopter for Preston. We are confident he will thrive in the right home. Preston has made so much progress in his foster home and is ready for a forever home to call his own. He needs a home with a fenced yard where he can safely run and play, and ideally a dog friend around his size or larger than him that can continue to show him the ropes of the sweet life! He enjoys playing in the yard with the other dogs in his foster home, but also loves playing with toys, even by himself! He will toss a toy up in the air and entertain himself. I’ve had Milo since he’s was 7 months old and he’s now 4. He’s very energetic and needs lots of attention something that I can no longer keep up with in my current circumstances. Milo thinks he’s a big dog so he loves going to the large side of the dog park instead of hanging with the other small breeds. It’s almost as if he doesn’t know that he’s 14 pounds. Milo does have a growl when he plays that is just his personality and actually pretty common in the Chihuahua family I promise he’s being playful. He has tons of toys, but some people automatically think he’s being aggressive because he’s growling even though he’s in a playful stance and/or has a toy in his mouth

Immie Estimated 9.5 years old 18 lbs Chihuahua/Terrier mix Fully vetted to include a dental If you look up "Velcro" and "glue" in the dictionary, Immie's picture would be there. She loves her people and is someone's constant shadow. Immie is the perfect, gentle girl. She was never reclaimed from animal control, and the reasoning behind that is unfathomable to us as she was clearly loved in the past. Immie is house trained, calm, walks nicely on a leash, and gets along with other dogs. She has shown no aggressive tendencies towards cats either or any desire to chase. Immie loves food. She came to us very overweight, so her new owner will need to understand keeping portions and treats controlled is important as she has a bit of arthritis in her legs. Because of this, she chooses not to jump on furniture and hasn't figured out the steps. However, she will dance on her back legs to be picked up. She would gladly sleep with her person and likes burrowing under blankets. Immie had a dental, and 13 teeth were removed. In the process, we learned some of the teeth were dead, and combining that with her odd use of the front right leg, it is possible she sustained some kind of injury to that side of her body in the past. Because she has some initial separation anxiety somewhere new and can be vocal, apartment life may not be suitable unless someone works from home. This does subside within a few weeks.
