Story
Meet Moe Howard – a pocket-sized (6 pounds), 1 year old, Chi mix looking for the perfect family!   At about one year old, this little guy has not had an easy beginning, but he is doing well and making steady progress with his foster family. However, it has taken patience, time, and most of all - love.   Moe genuinely loves other dogs and gets so excited to meet them, but because he’s so small his foster mom is extra careful. Playtime is best with dogs his own size or super-gentle bigger friends who know how fragile he is.    He’s still learning that the world isn’t so scary: new people (especially men) trigger his classic “stranger danger,” and when he gets frightened he turns into a tiny rocket—trying to sprout wings and launch himself out of arms, grocery buggies, or crates in a desperate bid for safety. Again, with patience and love, he’s already making beautiful progress.   Currently, Moe is recovering from surgery (in February) to fix his tiny luxating patella. He is almost entirely healed! So now, he can run, jump, and play without pain for the rest of his life. In the meantime, he’s discovering that loving arms and cozy laps are the safest, happiest places to be.   If you have a calm, patient home, maybe with a small dog buddy and you’re ready to give this tiny escape artist the forever security he deserves, Moe Howard is waiting to stop flying away and ready to start flying straight into your heart every single day.   You can check out more cute photos of me here:  https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCgMrd An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
Bruce Barrow is a 6-year-old, 11.5 pound, small mixed breed (maybe Min Pin - Chihuahua - terrier?) whose soft spirit makes him impossible not to love. He came to AAU rescue a bit underweight, and should fill out to around 14 pounds with steady meals and kindness.   Shy at first meeting, Bruce is the kind of dog who watches the world carefully before deciding it’s safe. Give him a little time, and his whole demeanor transforms. Once he trusts you, he becomes sweet, gentle, and oh-so-affectionate. Pick him up, and he just melts right into your arms like he’s been waiting his whole life for a person to hold him close.   Bruce Barrow would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands the magic of slow introductions and soft encouragement. He doesn’t need loud or busy - he just needs someone who will let him blossom at his own pace.   If you’re looking for a tender-hearted companion, who will reward your kindness with deep, loyal love,  Bruce Barrow is ready to meet you. An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
Leah Lady is a 12-year-old 14lb Terrier mix. Leah Lady is very sassy and alpha and doesn’t act her age. She’s timid and skittish when meeting new people and needs time to warm up. But what a love once she’s comfortable. She is house-trained in her foster home and does well in her crate. Her hearing is excellent, and she is a barker. In the yard, she runs around barking at birds and any neighbor or their dog that happens to appear. She also barks at Thunder!! Lady can not live in an apartment or condo.  The lady appears to have had little socialization and enjoys her new experiences, especially walking. Younger children make her nervous. She does better with teens, but it takes time.  She would do fine as an only dog. She’s very affectionate, and it’s all about her. I have two other dogs, and she wants a lot of attention. Lady loves toys but doesn’t like to share, and neither does my other foster, so unfortunately, there are no toys. She doesn’t resource guard with me but apparently will with another dog. She may be okay with another dog, depending on its disposition. She likes my other dog, and there are no issues with it, but he’s 14.  Lady is blind in her left eye from a large cataract. She sees well out of her right eye, though there is also a smaller cataract in the left eye. The pressure in the left eye will need to be monitored. She also had a mammary tumor removed with her spay. It was cancerous, but the margins were clear, and her chest X-ray was good. This will also need to be monitored. The frequency should be every 6 to 12 months, depending on the adopter's vet’s best practice.   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
This is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make, because this dog has been our best friend and loyal companion for the past five years. He is truly a loving, devoted dog who just wants to be close to his people. He absolutely loves cozying up with you at night, following you from room to room, and being by your side whenever he can. Walks are one of his favorite parts of the day, and he lights up when it’s time to play fetch; especially if his beloved ice cream cone toy is involved. He thrives on affection and will happily soak up praise, especially when he’s told he’s the best dog ever (which he absolutely is). We are rehoming him due to challenges adjusting to life with our new baby. This decision comes from a place of love and wanting what’s best for him. He deserves a home where he can feel relaxed, secure, and be someone’s number one companion again. He has so much love to give and will make an incredible best friend to the right person.
