        Skarlet did not have a great start to life. She came to Angels with her son Johnny Papa. They do not need to be adopted together but would not mind it. Skarlet is an 8-10-pound Chihuahua who was not socialized. She is very scared and takes time to warm up to new people, and she prefers women. Once she trusts you, she is very sweet and loves to play and snuggle. Skarlet’s perfect home would be a female home with the experience, time, and patience to help an unsocialized dog.  She will also need an adult household.     Hey there!  My name is Chikis.  I am an 11 year old, 15 pound, senior gentleman looking for a loving new home.       This little guy is 100% chihuahua: both sassy and sweet. Brought to Angels after his owner passed away, Coltyn has had some challenges in his young life. He was born with two hind legs that don’t work as well as they should. He manages by “hopping” short distances (and can move pretty fast!). He loves to accompany you on walks outside but needs to be in a sling or stroller, which he loves. Carpeted floors or rugs are also best; he has trouble getting around on slick or hard-surface flooring. In terms of personality, Coltyn is a typical chihuahua in that he lavishes lots of love and attention on his chosen person and can be a bit standoffish with everyone else. Because he can be protective of his person, he’d do best in a home without small children. He also guards his resources around other dogs (mainly food and treats), so he’d do well either as an only dog or with one who’s mellow and not easily triggered. Due to what’s likely a neurological issue he was born with, Coltyn may never be fully house-trained. He tolerates belly bands very well, but poops when and wherever the impulse strikes, though his routine is fairly predictable. In general, Coltyn would do best with an experienced chihuahua person who chooses to find his antics endearing and is committed to taking care of a special needs dog.     I'm Chopper Joe and I am such a handsome boy, but very skittish! I was surrendered to an amazing rescue with my friend and he was adopted - happy for him and totally okay being separated. I was adopted once, but returned after being bitey and not settling in.    My foster mom has been working with me and she says that I am still pretty skittish, but becoming more brave everyday. I won't let her pick me up, or pet me very often, but I'm learning that those things aren't so bad. I will run up to her and give her hand kisses, steal her warm spot on the sofa, and take treats and food from her hand.   My ideal home is safe and secure with a fenced in yard, no kids, and patient parents that understand I am still a work in progress. I like other dogs, but don't have to have a dog friend. Meet Frank! Frank and his "bother" Fred found themselves in a metro area shelter after their person was found deceased on the front porch of their home. The poor boys were outside in the backyard for who knows how long before they were found. After taking plenty of time to get to know them, we've been able to determine that they will do just fine (better actually) if they are adopted separately  Frank is about 10 years old with lots of life left to live! This adorable little guy is full of love and personality. He's currently fostering with dogs of all sizes and gets along great with everyone! He did do a trial adoption with a family with young children and we learned that he's not such a fan of toddlers though.  It's important to note that Frank did not display any aggression or anything like that towards the child but he was visibly stressed, so we are looking for a family without young children - teens and up only.   Interested in this dapper fella?
