Story
Laney has been a huge part of my life for more than ten years. She has been a best friend to me. She is cuddly, sweet and loving. I am a new mom to 10 month old baby and I’ve come to the sad realization I just can’t give Laney what she needs anymore while I’m learning to be a mom. I want Laney to experience the life she’s accustomed to. Long walks, sleeping in the bedroom, yummy snacks. She gets along with the new baby but she can no longer sleep in our bedroom anymore which makes me so sad. I’ve loved Laney for 11 years and she has brought me so much joy. I’m looking for a family that is happy to take in a spunky side kick. I want her later years of life to be comfortable and pleasant. I am doing my best but my husband is allergic so she doesn’t have full access around the house like she is used to and certain areas are off limits bc of the baby.

Story
Female, 2 years old, 5lbs Good with: Dogs   Not good with: Kids   Not tested with: Cats   Hi, I'm Fox! I can be pretty timid around new people, so I might take some time to warm up. I require another dog in the home with me to help warm me up and show me the ropes. The nice folks at RDR will update my profile when they learn more about me. I can't wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give!   Fox tested positive for heartworm and will need to undergo treatment once they arrive in the DMV, either while in foster or once they are with their adopter. RDR will cover the cost of the heartworm treatment through our vet partner. If the adopter would prefer to complete treatment at their vet, RDR will reimburse up to the treatment cost through our vet partner. During treatment, they need restricted exercise to short leashed walks only, and they need a fairly quiet home where they aren’t going to be overstimulated too much. Once the treatment is complete and they get the all clear from the vet, they will be able to live a totally normal/unrestricted life like any other dog. Dogs should be retested 9-12 months after treatment is completed and every year afterwards as part of their annual exam. For more information on heartworms click here: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics   Adoption Application : http://bit.ly/adoptrdr Foster Application :  https://rdr.formstack.com/forms/foster_app My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Overall wellness exam Current on all core vaccines (including DHPP & rabies) Microchip Current on flea & tick and heartworm preventatives   Interested in adopting a rescue dog? Story
Chucky lives with two other dogs, and he loves them! He also lives with a cat - but he is more afraid of the cat than the cat is afraid of him. We believe he may have been previously mistreated. He gets nervous at times (inquire within to learn more about that) but is a loveable gentleman. He is a very handsome good dog, and with the right patience to potty train him and build up his confidence, he can blossom into a happy member of any family.

Story
Sometimes we never know what we will see when we start up our car and leave the safety of our homes and our beloved pets that wait for us to return.  Sometimes what we see on the road is disturbing and downright WRONG.     This pair of Chihuahuas were discovered by one of our faithful rescue fosters as she traveled a back country road that was mostly farmland and very few  houses on the road.  First she say the little white chihuahua in the road and he ran from her and wouldn’t let her catch him.  She tried for a while.  Then she went to the nearest house and talked to a man who was out in his yard about this white Chihuahua.  He told her who owned the land where the dog was seen running and so a few days later she went back determined to ride up and down the road until she could see the dog again.  Well there were TWO little chihuahuas now; white and black and tan.  She found the owners of the land and asked them about the Chis and was told they were dropped off by some unknown person and that they had been up in their barn trying to eat the cow feed. They were abandoned and soon our rescue foster trapped them and brought them home to change their life forever.  We are getting them vetted and neutered and spayed 1/26. WE NEED FOSTER HELP!   The white boy is very shy and the black and tan is a female and the “protector” of her male friend.  Help us give them a short term place to stay while we look for a permanent and forever loving home!  Can you help for a few weeks?  Please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  They can be fostered in Nashville, TN or even in the New England area.  We transport weekly and just need someone to show them kindness, love and stability.  They will be ever so grateful!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
This special girl is called Joni and she is a 2-3 year old Chihuahua girl that weighs 11 pounds and looking for a dream home.  This girl who has been a momma with babies before, was found with what we believe to be one of her puppies, a son named Chachi, who is white and a year old now.     This girl was found  abandoned in a very remote rural area that was nothing but countryside farm land.  The owners of the farm told us that they both showed up and had been there looking for food and shelter for over a week.  Our rescue foster mom couldn’t stand to see them left outside in the cold and with no place to be safely sheltered.  They would not come to her and so she humanely trapped them and took them home.  The rest will be history for both of these Chihuahuas.  Momma Joni is a sweet and confident girl who still takes her protective mothering responsibilities seriously.  She is still mothering and overseeing her son Chachi.  She is housebroken pretty well and crate trained and she does get along with the other small dogs in the foster home…and the cat too!  We have promised Momma Joni that she will never be thrown out and abandoned ever again.   She is ready for a new and loving owner to sweep her away on a little magic carpet to live happily ever after.   Is that you holding the key to her heart and forever future!?  Contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
Elvis is a loving, caring Pomeranian chi mix! He adores ALL people, children, and dogs. He spends most of his days napping and hanging out with family. He requires a small amount of exercise daily (three 5-10 minute walks). He walks well on the leash and does not pull at all. After his morning walk, he tends to sleep most of the day away! He has great house manners and listens very well. Currently, he knows commands in Spanish, including the basics (Sientate/Sit, Espera/Wait and Ven Aqui/come). He is extremely food motivated when it comes to training, so it will be easy to expand his vocabulary in English. Elvis does have mild separation anxiety, which leads to him having accidents if he is left home alone outside of the crate. Additionally, he may have the occasional accident overnight. He is 100% crate trained, so we would definitely recommend using a crate, so he won’t have any accidents. Elvis has a heart condition which requires him to take medicine daily. Additionally, he will need to go to the cardiologist every 6 months for a recheck echo. All in all, Elvis would be an excellent addition to any family looking for a super smart, low energy, friendly, and loyal dog. My Profile Age: 7 years Weight: 12 pounds Good with kids: Yes Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard: No Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes House trained: Mostly Crate trained: Yes Barks when left alone: No Chews inappropriate items: No Training: Sientate/Sit, Espera/Wait & Ven Aqui/Come Activity level: Low Special needs: Yes, I need daily medication.
