Story
Male, ~3 years old, ~12 lbs. Approximate Age: ~3 years old   Approximate Weight/Size: Small   Good with: Dogs, Kids over 10   Not tested with: Cats   My name is Echo and they claim I'm a chihuahua mix.. and who am I to dispute it! I am a 3 year old male and weigh 12 lbs. (dripping wet). I am good with other dogs and kids over 10, but I'd probably be better with no kids. Now cats could be a different story since I haven't been tested with them yet. I came in as a stray and I had a very bad skin issue. This is not a good combination when you want to put your best paw forward. But I've recovered nicely but I still love to get all the TLC! I am kind of on the nervous side (and who wouldn't be with what I've been through!). I am shy with strangers and need some time to warm up when I'm in your presence. I wouldn't mind getting some treats and presents too. I don't like the city life and prefer being away from that environment where its a bit quieter. It would be great if I could have a backyard, or maybe a dog park, that I could call my own (I hope that's not asking too much!).   The real important stuff here includes that I'm crate trained, potty trained, food motivated, housetrained, and low energy level. I will need some work gaining confidence and trust with my new people, but if you're willing to spend time with me, I'd really appreciate it.  I could be a diamond in the ruff!  I'll return the favor with how cute and sweet I am!   Thanks for checking me out. Good things can come in small packages.  Your pal. Echo     Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrdr My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Overall wellness exam Current on all core vaccines (including DHPP & rabies) Microchip Current on flea & tick and heartworm preventatives   Interested in adopting a rescue dog? Story
Sometimes we never know what we will see when we start up our car and leave the safety of our homes and our beloved pets that wait for us to return.  Sometimes what we see on the road is disturbing and downright WRONG.     This pair of Chihuahuas were discovered by one of our faithful rescue fosters as she traveled a back country road that was mostly farmland and very few  houses on the road.  First she say the little white chihuahua in the road and he ran from her and wouldn’t let her catch him.  She tried for a while.  Then she went to the nearest house and talked to a man who was out in his yard about this white Chihuahua.  He told her who owned the land where the dog was seen running and so a few days later she went back determined to ride up and down the road until she could see the dog again.  Well there were TWO little chihuahuas now; white and black and tan.  She found the owners of the land and asked them about the Chis and was told they were dropped off by some unknown person and that they had been up in their barn trying to eat the cow feed. They were abandoned and soon our rescue foster trapped them and brought them home to change their life forever.  We are getting them vetted and neutered and spayed 1/26. WE NEED FOSTER HELP!   The white boy is very shy and the black and tan is a female and the “protector” of her male friend.  Help us give them a short term place to stay while we look for a permanent and forever loving home!  Can you help for a few weeks?  Please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  They can be fostered in Nashville, TN or even in the New England area.  We transport weekly and just need someone to show them kindness, love and stability.  They will be ever so grateful!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 26, 2023, 8:40 am

Story
This special girl is called Joni and she is a 2-3 year old Chihuahua girl that weighs 11 pounds and looking for a dream home.  This girl who has been a momma with babies before, was found with what we believe to be one of her puppies, a son named Chachi, who is white and a year old now.     This girl was found  abandoned in a very remote rural area that was nothing but countryside farm land.  The owners of the farm told us that they both showed up and had been there looking for food and shelter for over a week.  Our rescue foster mom couldn’t stand to see them left outside in the cold and with no place to be safely sheltered.  They would not come to her and so she humanely trapped them and took them home.  The rest will be history for both of these Chihuahuas.  Momma Joni is a sweet and confident girl who still takes her protective mothering responsibilities seriously.  She is still mothering and overseeing her son Chachi.  She is housebroken pretty well and crate trained and she does get along with the other small dogs in the foster home…and the cat too!  We have promised Momma Joni that she will never be thrown out and abandoned ever again.   She is ready for a new and loving owner to sweep her away on a little magic carpet to live happily ever after.   Is that you holding the key to her heart and forever future!?  Contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.September 26, 2023, 8:40 am

Story
Itsy Bitsy is one of those sweet small dogs that has lost her momma and after she passed away the remaining senior husband did not want her.  He was just never connected to her at all.  This adorable 9 pound,  12 year old black and cream colored Chihuahua with a unique stubby tail somehow came to us terrified and untrusting.  She’s had a rough time of it and requires plenty of love, patience and understanding. She’ll need some time to get over being terrified of you and a new environment when she is adopted.  When she is unsure of something she has a tendency to snap on autopilot, but it doesn’t hurt and it’s just a quick reaction. A little busybody, she will follow you around wherever you go.  If only she could talk.  Or maybe she would be dangerous if she could tell us what made her so fearful.  She is currently living with a dog and two cats and they all leave each other alone, and if could find her an only dog home she would love it.  But if not…she tolerates other animals in the home. She wants all the attention focused on her but hasn’t been getting it since being with us at Critter Cavalry Rescue. Once she trusts you, she’ll be your best friend. It will take time to get her to trust you but it will be worth it in the end.  She is housebroken, but will need pee pads for a bit getting used to a new home and routine.  Please email us if you have the heart and soul to give this girl the best last years of her life.  She has been spayed by Critter Cavalry Rescue and also received bloodwork done and a dental as well.   We have fixed up beautifully and put her on a path of good health and now the search begins to find the most unique and caring owner possible. If you are interested please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 26, 2023, 8:40 am

Story
Our boy Chachi has no special needs with his health since he is a young one year old 10 pound chihuahua.  But he is special needs in the department of giving him time, patience and unconditional love that will allow him to slowly make his way back to being a normal and less fearful dog.   A place is needed for him to go and rest, be loved and be given the time to find his way to being a more calm, confident dog.  You see he and his momma dog were found in the middle of a nowhere in a small community in rural Tennessee.  They had no food or water for some time before our foster mom saw them and picked them up to carry them home with her.  They had been on the run for a while and no one had tried to catch them.   But our determined friend and foster mom Lecia did all the work and set a humane trap and caught them both and took them to the vet and then home with her to foster.   Chachi is so very handsome and SOOOOO very scared.  Most of all he is very scared of men but tolerates them if they live in the foster home.  We are looking for Chachi to go to a home with another confident small dog.   He is not a biter but a fright and flight if he gets away.  He is almost housebroken and knows how to go outside and then come in and hang.  If you are interested please email us at   ccrtennessee@gmail.com  We know there is someone special out there for this handsome, scared soul.
