Story
Male, 6 years old, 49 pounds Personality: snuggler, quiet, affectionate, gentle, and calm. Looking for a laid-back, snuggly companion who’d love to enjoy a quiet night in with you? Meet Jaxxson! This distinguished gentleman enjoys plenty of short walks during the day to get his steps in, but when he’s home, his favorite thing to do is snuggle up next to you on the couch for some R&R. Even when left alone in the house with the freedom to wander, his fosters usually come back to find him in the same spot that he was in when they left. Jaxxson is a gentle soul who gets along well with humans of all ages. He currently lives with three adults and four children between the ages of 8 years and 11 months and is happy to accept pets from everyone. He’s even patient when the baby tries to pull his ears, simply moving away to a safe spot. (It’s all part of his master plan — he loves to wait under the baby’s chair during mealtimes in case a stray snack or two happens to drop down to him.) Jaxxson is doing well with house training, walks well on a leash, and is trusted alone uncrated. Does this chill dude sound like a good fit for your home? Apply today to meet Jaxxson! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Story
Personality: smart, shy, playful, calm, gentle, timid/fearful, and quiet. Lil Mama is a lil sweetheart! She’s gentle but playful and adores playing with her stuffy toys, eating from snuffle and lick mats, and relaxing in her crate. Lil Mama rarely barks either inside or outside and has taken quickly to crate training. House training is still a work in progress, but she mostly knows when to go outside and is a fast learner. Since moving into her foster home, Lil Mama has been slowly warming up to her caretakers and learning that humans can be loving friends. She would do best in a loving and patient home where she can acclimate at her own pace, with an adopter who will take the time to help her grow her confidence. Does that sound like it could be your home? Apply today to meet Lil Mama! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. 3 years old, 14 lbs Personality: eager-to-please, outgoing, smart, affectionate, snuggler, and playful. Meet Mamma Mia, a small package with a lot of love to give. This little lady loves to meet new people and, once she warms up, will happily jump into guests’ laps to snuggle. She currently lives with a small, senior dog and enjoys snuggling and playing with her canine companion. Mamma Mia has an adorable habit of trotting around and showing off her toys when she’s feeling a little more energetic than usual. This sweet girl is building up the confidence to be home alone. Story
Meet Tank — the blanket-burrowing comedian with a heart as big as his personality. When Tank’s loving owner passed away, his little world turned upside down. But even through the confusion and heartbreak, this resilient 6-year-old Chihuahua never lost his spark. A kind foster stepped in to keep him safe, and now Tank is ready to start the next chapter of his life — one filled with comfort, stability, and plenty of snuggles. Tank is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He recently met a cat and stayed calm and polite, proving he’s just a little gentleman in a tiny package. He may try to talk you out of going in his crate but once he’s inside, he settles easily. Still, his true happy place is under a pile of blankets — burrowed into your lap, tucked behind your knees, or occasionally perched on your pillow like a tiny, furry crown. He’s affectionate, silly, and full of personality, but never in a way that overwhelms.  Tank dreams of a quiet home where he can be the center of cozy evenings and soft routines. He’d love a calm household with other friendly small dogs and no children, and most importantly, a human who appreciates a good snuggle and a warm blanket.   If you’re looking for a tender-hearted companion who will love you with every ounce of his tiny body, Tank is ready to make you his whole world.   Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue if you are interested at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please mention where you live: city and state!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 9, 2025, 10:15 pm
