I'm a very nice Chi mix, but I've had a rough start to life. I'm looking forward to being in a forever home where I can be loved the way I deserve!   Although I can be a little timid at first, I open up quickly once I feel safe with you. Pets, cuddles, belly rubs, and treats go a long way! I'm your perfect work from home partner. I could spend all day sleeping in your lap at your desk. If you want a little lap warmer with the cutest face, then I'm the pup for you! I'll happily sleep wherever I am: I'm just a big couch potato (who will still occasionally get the zoomies!)   Since I'm just a puppy, I'm still working on some training. I'm still getting comfortable walking on a leash. I'm okay with the noises of the city, just not used to it yet! I'm a sweet Chi mix a born on September 13th as a single pup to a black 12lb Cheweenie mix - my father is unknown. I love all other dogs and cats, and since I'm an only pup, playing with other size appropriate, friendly dogs is crucial for my socialization skills. I would love to live in a home with another small, friendly and puppy-tolerant dog under 25lbs. I love to cuddle with my dog friends.   Due to my small size, I would do best in a home with children over the age of 10 or well behaved children who will be careful with me. I currently sleep through the night and I'm working on my house training with a puppy pad - although I know to go outside when you take me out. We haven't seen him with cats but he can be tested. Due to his breed mix and small size, he may not go to a home with children under the age of 12.   Currently Living at:   Oklahoma shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get on a freedom flight here on Saturday 12/9!   Special adoption considerations:    Due to his breed mix and small size, he may not go to a home with children under the age of 12   Benji is Looking For:  His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this small cutie now needs a new home. Shelter staff say he is the sweetest boy and very playful. He's eager to have his own humans for sniffy walks and romps in the park and for lots and lots of play time! Snuggles and cuddles are on his list too, along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed - but right at the top is being safe and loved and under his own roof for all his days.    What do you say?
