Our team quickly got her to a veterinarian in Annapolis, where it was confirmed that she had indeed been hit.Thanks to proper care, love, and time, Fauna is healing well — but her heart needs healing too. Because of her past trauma, she can take a little while to warm up to new people. She’ll need multiple meet-and-greets with potential adopters so she can build trust at her own pace. Once she feels safe, her loyal and alert nature shines. She’ll let you know if someone is coming to the house, making her a great little “alarm system” with a big heart.Fauna does wonderfully with dogs, cats, and would do best in a home with kids over 12 who can understand her need for space and gentle handling. We rescued Ozzie from the Maryland SPCA on August 27, 2025. Over the past three months, he has brought so much joy to our lives. We truly love and enjoy caring for him every day. Unfortunately, we will need to relocate abroad in the near future due to some unexpected family issues. We’re concerned about the stress that international travel would cause him, and our situation is not the most stable in the short term. For these reasons, we are looking for a loving forever home for Ozzie. Ozzie is a one-year-old, 12-lb Chihuahua mix (approximately 75% Chihuahua, 17% Shih Tzu — Embark DNA report available). He’s the perfect lap dog for a single-person household and will shower you with endless affection. Ozzie warms up quickly and loves to curl up beside you for naps or follow you from room to room. He’s happiest just being near his person. He’s well-adjusted to city living: friendly with house guests, calm on busy tolerant of noises outside, and loves walks and exploring the neighborhood
