Story
Meet Cheyenne — a delicate, dear-head Chihuahua with a heart as tender as her tiny 9-pound frame. At just three years old, she has already experienced more upheaval than any little dog should. She spent her life cherished by her mom, but when her owner became disabled and had to move in with friends, Cheyenne came along… only to be told she could no longer stay. It shattered her mom’s heart and left Cheyenne confused and frightened.   Cheyenne has lived a very sheltered, indoor life, and the changes of the past few months have left her understandably nervous. She needs time, patience, and a gentle hand to learn that her world can be safe again. Once she feels secure, she’ll quietly lean in, allow soft pets, and even offer a tiny kiss to show her trust.   This sweet girl isn’t demanding—she’s simply sensitive. She finds comfort in calm environments and absolutely needs another friendly dog in her new home. Having a canine companion gives her confidence and helps her settle. She loves cuddling with her dog friends, and in her foster home, her favorite cozy spot is tucked under a blanket where she feels warm and hidden.   Cheyenne is never aggressive or mean with other dogs, but energetic puppies are not her cup of tea—they’re a bit too lively for her peaceful spirit. What she truly wants is a patient, loving adopter who understands that trust is earned gently over time.   If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal little Chihuahua who will adore you once she knows she’s finally safe, Cheyenne may be your perfect match. With a secure, loving home, she will blossom into the devoted companion she’s meant to be.   Cheyenne is healthy, ready to go, and so deserving of her happily-ever-after.Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to meet this precious girl.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 14, 2025, 11:46 pm

Story
This special little one year old chihuahua is called Magic Maude.  And especially sensitive little girl, that somehow got just a little too round and is on a dedicated exercise in nutrition program to drop some weight.  Currently, she is eighteen pounds and we field that she would be best to be in the ten to twelve pound range as a goal.  She originally was in a chaotic home that animal control had to step in and take away 112 chihuahuas that we're living in the home.  An unfathomable amount of dogs that were not altered, but yet healthy.  When mod came to our rescue and was put in a foster home. She lay there in her crate for days very depressed and emotionally unresponsive.  She barely moved from the one spot she lay in.   Eventually, after almost two weeks, she perked up with the company of few other chihuahuas coming to join her in her large crate.  Soon she was going on walks with the foster. Mom and seemed to enjoy the freedom of being outside, taking in all the new sights and sounds of the neighborhood.  We know she had never been leash walked due to the overcrowding at her original home.  This girl is spayed and healthy and ready to start all over again. She wants love and we promised her a great family who will love her and take her for walks and treat her like the Magic Maude that she is.  She is currently in Nashville, Tennessee, and can be transported to the northeast region as well. Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  if you want to adopt or know more.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 7, 2025, 6:32 pm

This 11 month old 18 pound Apple Head chihuahua is small in size but legendary in spirit. Hercules has the kind of personality that changes the energy of a home. He’s curious, social, and always ready for adventure. Story
Herman is our  “Small Dog with Big Loyalty”    Hi, I’m Herman — a 5-year-old chocolate and tan Chihuahua weighing in at a perfect 10 pounds. I’m a gentle, well-behaved little guy who’s ready to find a loving, dependable home just in time for the holidays. My life took an unexpected turn when my former owner and his partner split up, and suddenly there was no place for me anymore. Through no fault of my own, I found myself without a home — but not without hope. A kind coworker made sure I stayed safe and out of the shelter, and soon after, Critter Cavalry Rescue welcomed me in and promised to help me find the forever family I deserve. I’m an easy companion to love. I’m housebroken, calm, snuggly, and respectful of my space and yours. I don’t chew things up, and I truly just want to be near my person — whether that’s curled up on the couch or keeping you company during quiet moments. I’m healthy, recently neutered, and ready to start my next chapter with someone who understands that loyalty like mine is for life. I may be small, but my heart is huge, and I promise to love you fully and faithfully. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion to welcome into your home and heart for 2026 and beyond, I could be your perfect match. Please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting me.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 24, 2025, 12:11 pm

Story
Male, 6 years old, 49 pounds Personality: snuggler, quiet, affectionate, gentle, and calm. Looking for a laid-back, snuggly companion who’d love to enjoy a quiet night in with you? Meet Jaxxson! This distinguished gentleman enjoys plenty of short walks during the day to get his steps in, but when he’s home, his favorite thing to do is snuggle up next to you on the couch for some R&R. Even when left alone in the house with the freedom to wander, his fosters usually come back to find him in the same spot that he was in when they left. Jaxxson is a gentle soul who gets along well with humans of all ages. He currently lives with three adults and four children between the ages of 8 years and 11 months and is happy to accept pets from everyone. He’s even patient when the baby tries to pull his ears, simply moving away to a safe spot. (It’s all part of his master plan — he loves to wait under the baby’s chair during mealtimes in case a stray snack or two happens to drop down to him.) Jaxxson is doing well with house training, walks well on a leash, and is trusted alone uncrated. Does this chill dude sound like a good fit for your home? Apply today to meet Jaxxson! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Story
6 years old, 11 pounds Personality: smart, shy, sweet, playful, calm, gentle, timid/fearful, and quiet. Lil Mama may be small, but she has big love to give! This gentle gal has a playful spirit — she adores playing with her stuffy toys, eating from snuffle and lick mats, and relaxing in her crate. She’s good with dogs of all sizes and loves playing with the resident dog in her foster home. This smart pup is house trained and crate trained, and she’s very food-motivated, making her an eager learner. While she’s a little slow to warm up to strangers, Lil Mama does great when allowed to acclimate at her own pace. And once she knows you’re a friend, she’s a total snuggle bug, curling right up to you for some pets. After playtime or a good cuddle session, she’s content to sleep for hours. Lil Mama will thrive in a loving and patient home with an adopter who will take the time to help her grow her confidence. Does that sound like a fit for you?
