Story
Hi, I'm little Penny! I want a home where I can be in a calm and quiet home to relax in. I am 12 years old and I do have some health issues. I have a heart mumor, but that does not stop me from being the cutest there is and will ever be. I can be a little nervous and it takes me a little while before I will feel at home, but with time and patience...I promise I will be the best little girl there is.Penny is UTD with vaccines, spayed, andmicrochippedThank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Olaf, the chocolate Chihuahua, is about 4.5 years old and looking for the perfect, quiet home with someone who is familiar with anxious and fearfully reactive dogs. He would do best in a home with no children, and not a lot of visitors. Cats are a no go for Olaf as are most other dogs. He would be ok with one small, submissive, low-key doggie friend as he likes to play occasionally, but he isn't very good at normal dog play. We lovingly think of Olaf's personality as a cat trapped in a dog's body. Olaf takes a daily anxiety medication to help him feel safe in his everyday environment. Olaf will need an understanding and patient person that will allow him space and decompression time when he gets overstimulated. Olaf is crate trained and for the most part potty trained. However, like any small dog he isn’t a fan of going outside in the rain or cold. He walks wonderfully on leash as long as no off leash dogs approach him, and he also loves to travel in the car. He does like affection on his own terms and will let you know when he no longer wants attention. Olaf's perfect home will need to be willing to give him time and show him patience as he is settling in to your lifestyle, they must also be willing to continue working on training to ensure he lives a happy and safe life. Most importantly Olaf will need a person that is NOT expecting a snuggly lap dog. While he will occasionally snuggle and sit on your lap, it will only happen when he chooses it. His perfect person would be looking for a tiny, quirky shadow that is content with his mere presence as companionship. Olaf is spay/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm tested and on prevention. Adoption fee for Olaf is $350. If you are interested in adopting Olaf, please fill out an adoption application http://www.furgetusnotrescue.org/application.html .

MEET AMA at our upcoming Paws & Pints fundraiser and adoption event on 9/30 from Noon-3pm at Oat Soda in Lake Orion https://facebook.com/events/s/paws-pints/609609937986945: Hola! That means, hi! My name is Ama, what's your name? My 7 year old weighing only 5 pounds self found myself wondering the streets of Detroit! Crazy, right?! How I made it around the streets without getting hurt is truly a blessing. Anyway, my parents never came for me so thankfully Furever Tails Animal Rescue took me in.  Did you know the word "ama" means love or is also used to nickname a mom in spanish. In this case, my foster Mom named me Ama for both! Because she's pretty sure I've had pups before and because I'm such a love to be around! While being in my foster home, I've realized I get along well with cats, dogs, and children who are dog savvy. Specifically, children who understand I'm little and fragile. I am crate trained and confident once I learn your routine, I will catch onto potty breaks outside quickly. I'm cute, wittle itty bitty, loving, and a cuddle bug. What's not to love about me?! My ideal home would include a loving family. I'm extremely little, so tethering me is absolutely prohibited and unacceptable. I'm dainty, but I like spending time in a fenced yard or going for walks. I'm not training for a marathon, I really do means walks, lol. If I'm to have fur-siblings, I would prefer them around the same energy and size as me. I don't feel like being trampled on by a big dog. Again, I'm wittle. As a reminder about children, small dog savvy children is a must.  I'm ready to be pampered the rest of my life. If I sound like the Ama (see what I did there, wink wink) for you, please fill out the application to be considered to meet with me.  Hope to meet you soon,Ama Ama is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedNeutered ADOPTION FEE: $375 FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. Story
Oh my, those eyes and ears! Brutus is estimated to be about 6 years old and weighs 12 pounds. He loves to say hello through the bars, what a cutie. We will have more information on Brutus coming soon as he is a little scared right now in this kennel environment, but he seems happy and wiggly. He is a timid when you first meet him, he just has to get to know you a little first. He may prefer a quieter, more predictable type home with older children who are respectful due to his shy nature. If you are interested in Brutus and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
Aniken is stunning with his unique grey coat. He is estimated to be about 4 years old and weighs 13 pounds. Aniken loves other dogs! Another dog’s presence seems to give him a huge confidence boost!. Aniken is very, very scared right now in this kennel environment. He needs to go at his own pace and come to you. Once Aniken knows and trust you, he is affectionate and cuddly. He will need an experienced adopter with patience, who can build trust and show him the world is not such a scary place. He would prefer a quieter, more predictable type home with no children, due to his shy nature. Aniken may also do best in a home with another confident dog to help build his confidence. If you are interested in Aniken and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.
