MEET TILLIE:AVAILABLE NOW BUT IF STILL SEEKING MY FUREVER FAMILY - MEET ME AT THE PAWS, PAlS, AND PET SUPPLIES PLUS ADOPTION EVENT ON SUNDAY MAY 18 FROM NOON-3PM, LOCATED AT MEADOW BROOK AMPHITHEATRE (on the campus of Oakland University) 160 FESTIVAL DRIVE, ROCHESTER HILLS, MI 48309! Tillie is a charming senior (age unknown but 10+ years is assumed) Chihuahua with a heart full of love and a life story that deserves a happy chapter. At just 7 pounds, this sweet girl has found herself in foster care after being surrendered to an overcrowded facility. Although she's a bit bewildered by her recent change in surroundings, Tillie remains spry and spirited, ready to embrace the cozy days ahead. Tillie is a gentle soul who’s looking for a quieter home where she can settle in and feel truly safe. She does have some age-related traits; her hearing isn’t as sharp as it once was, and her eyesight isn’t quite what it used to be, but she still enjoys a good cuddle and is eager for affection. This little lady has a great appetite and shows no signs of slowing down in enjoying her golden years. Tillie's perfect match would be a calm and loving family with no children or older children who can respect her space and understand that patience is key as she adjusts. She would thrive best with low-energy canine companions, especially those smaller than her petite frame. Tillie would appreciate a home where she doesn’t have to compete for attention and can enjoy her comfortable lifestyle. While she’s not one for long beach walks or big outdoor adventures, Tillie is perfectly content lounging in a sunny spot or taking short strolls around the yard. A secure fenced yard would be ideal for her to explore safely. She has met cats and has shown no problems, so a feline friend could also be a good fit! Tillie is more than just a pet; she’s a companion who will bring warmth, laughter, and joy to your life. She deserves a loving forever home where she can spend her days feeling cherished and secure. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this special little lady, please consider adopting Tillie. Let’s give her the best years of her life filled with love, comfort, and all the belly rubs she can handle!  Tillie is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayed and underwent a dental cleaning with extractions.ADOPTION FEE: $350 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. Story
Olaf, the chocolate Chihuahua, is about 4.5 years old and looking for the perfect, quiet home with someone who is familiar with anxious and fearfully reactive dogs. He would do best in a home with no children, and not a lot of visitors. Cats are a no go for Olaf as are most other dogs. He would be ok with one small, submissive, low-key doggie friend as he likes to play occasionally, but he isn't very good at normal dog play. We lovingly think of Olaf's personality as a cat trapped in a dog's body. Olaf takes a daily anxiety medication to help him feel safe in his everyday environment. Olaf will need an understanding and patient person that will allow him space and decompression time when he gets overstimulated. Olaf is crate trained and for the most part potty trained. However, like any small dog he isn’t a fan of going outside in the rain or cold. He walks wonderfully on leash as long as no off leash dogs approach him, and he also loves to travel in the car. He does like affection on his own terms and will let you know when he no longer wants attention. Olaf's perfect home will need to be willing to give him time and show him patience as he is settling in to your lifestyle, they must also be willing to continue working on training to ensure he lives a happy and safe life. Most importantly Olaf will need a person that is NOT expecting a snuggly lap dog. While he will occasionally snuggle and sit on your lap, it will only happen when he chooses it. His perfect person would be looking for a tiny, quirky shadow that is content with his mere presence as companionship. Olaf is spay/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm tested and on prevention. Adoption fee for Olaf is $350. If you are interested in adopting Olaf, please fill out an adoption application http://www.furgetusnotrescue.org/application.html .

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Winston is a very sweet boy, who loves to play with toys and enjoys the company of other dogs. Winston came from a hoarding case, so he does need someone with patience. He is afraid of outdoors, but he is very good about using his potty pads in the house. He is also afraid of human touch until he knows he can trust you. Then he allows you to pet him, but still fears being picked up. He loves to sleep in bed with his human.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.   Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.   Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.   MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Story
Age: 5 Years Weight: 25lbs Good with dogs? Unknown- meet and greet required Good with cats? Unknown Good with kids? No Energy Level: Moderate-High Adoption Fee: $320.00 Any other info: Meet Rizzo: A Loyal Heart Searching for His Safe Haven. Sometimes, love isn't enough to make the world feel safe. Rizzo—affectionately known as Rizz—has spent his life navigating that delicate balance between fierce loyalty and quiet fear. At just five years old, he has already known both the joy of a family and the heartbreak of being returned to the shelter. He loves deeply, but his anxious heart needs patience, understanding, and a home where he can finally breathe easy. Rizzo is a compact little guy with an endearing, robust frame and the silliest ears you've ever seen. His personality is a contradiction in the best way—loving yet guarded, affectionate yet cautious. With the people he trusts, he is a devoted companion, ready to shower them in warmth and love and wiggles his whole body in excitement. Plus, he loves but scratches and leaning into you for comfort. But with strangers, his fear takes hold, and he needs time, space, and reassurance to find his confidence again. He is protective, not aggressive—his heart simply demands safety before he can fully open up. A calm, child-free home is what Rizzo needs most. He is a dog who loves hard, who bonds deeply, and who, even now in the shelter, is surprising everyone with his resilience. He’s doing better than expected, but there’s one thing he can’t shake—the struggle to eat unless someone he loves is nearby. That alone speaks volumes about how much he craves companionship, stability, and the comfort of a home that finally understands him. While Rizzo’s love for his humans is unquestionable, we’re not sure how he would do with other animals at this time. He may thrive as an only pet, or he may open up in the right environment. What we do know is that he needs patience, a steady routine, and a family willing to help him feel secure. Rizz is 5 years old, neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on prevention here with us. He is also taking some daily medication to help his anxiety here in the shelter and may or may not need to stay on that in his home as well. Rizzo has so much potential. He isn’t broken—he’s simply searching for the right person to help piece together his confidence, one moment at a time. If you’ve ever wished for a companion who would love you with unwavering loyalty, Rizzo is waiting for you. He just needs someone willing to meet him where he is and show him that safety and love can go hand in hand. He’s ready to leave the shelter. He’s ready to learn. He’s ready to love. Are you ready to give him his second chance? If Rizzo’s story speaks to you, please reach out today—he’s waiting for his forever home. Apply through the link below and our adoptions team will get in touch with you. https://form.jotform.com/201977724595065 Once your application is processed and approved, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet with Rizzo. ------------------------------------------------ Our adoption fees include the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, heartworm/tick disease testing and fecal check.
