Story
Snapshot of Foxalini: Size? Small Activity Level? I can run circles around the yard if you let me! But I'm generally low energy. Noise Level? I bark when I want something but its nothing excessive. Good with Dogs? I love other dogs! Good with Cats? Cats are SO boring! I ignore them. Good with Kids? I love little ones after I'm settled in! Good with Strangers? I'm a little nervous at first. But once I'm comfortable I love everyone! Potty Trained? Yep! Crate Trained? I cry in my crate. But I do well when left outside of one! Shedding? I don't shed much! About Foxalini: Foxalini is an adorable chihuahua mix. We aren't sure what the "mix" part is but based on her long legs, we assume it's part deer. She came to us from a reservation and we aren't sure what her life was like there. But when she first arrived she was quite scared and shy. When she learned we had yummy treats, soft beds, and gentle pets she quickly became comfortable and is SUCH a different dog now than when she first walked through our door. She enjoys chasing our cattle dog mix around the yard and then when she's feeling really fast she pushes him to chase her. But her long legs help her glide through the yard and it's quite impressive to see her out run a dog that's 5 times her size! When they're both tired out she comes inside and snuggles with our elderly dachshund. She's met a couple other dogs of varying sizes as well and did great with them all! We have cats too and Foxlini ignores them. Although she would probably cuddle with one of the cats if they wanted to cuddle with her. She loves to play with our 4 year old daughter as well and will often choose her lap to curl up in over ours if our daughter sits still long enough for her to get comfortable. She can be a little clingy at times. But we haven't had any issues when she is left in the house without humans. We think the other dogs help comfort her so being adopted into a home with another dog would be really beneficial! She would be fine in a home without a fenced yard too. But she really loves to run freely in our yard so having a fence is an added bonus! Otherwise, Foxalini's only other requests for her new home are patience while she settles in and the ability to sleep in bed with her humans at night. She loves fluffy comforters and sleeping right next to you! Foxalini is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for her age. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Simba is a very sweet boy.  Once he is comfortable, he wants to always be near his people or preferably in their laps soaking up all the love he can get.    He likes to spend time gazing out the windows or laying in a patch of sunlight. He loves to toss his toys high in the air and then race after them.   This little guy seems to have springs in his legs as he just bounces up and down when he plays, super fun to watch him have so much joy! He is underweight but has shown no resource guarding of his food and takes treats very gently. However, it's best to feed separate from other pets. He sleeps all night in his bed in a gated room and does fantastic, never making a peep during the night. He is completely potty trained as well. He enjoys being outside and chasing tennis balls and often brings them back so should be great at retrieving with more practice.     Simba does have a fair amount of stranger danger. However with patience, it has only taken a few hours to help him feel safe enough around new faces. He does pretty well walking on a leash but does have some reactivity towards other dogs. This is a work in progress and will take more training. He gets along  with our 2 resident dogs and reads their body language well, never trying to challenge or be pushy. He does well with being handled (baths, checking ears, etc) and has very little shedding.     If you are looking for a sweet little snuggler, Simba may be the dog for you! Simba is from Texas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sissy is a sweet, gentle, and playful girl.  She enjoys exploring the outdoors and she loves to run and play with the other small dogs in her foster home!  A fenced in yard would be best for Sissy, allowing her to go in/out independently to do her business.  She enjoys going on walks and is learning to walk well on a leash.  Sissy travels quietly in the car.  She enjoys playing and chewing on toys, and she loves to collect them in her bed!  It will be important to have a confident small dog in Sissy’s forever home to help her continue to learn to trust people.  Sissy is cautious when meeting new people and it is important to let her settle in on her own timeline.  Despite her cautiousness, Sissy's not aggressive, she’s just timid when it comes to new human interaction. Sissy does enjoy a good rub when she trusts you.  Now that she trusts us, one of her favorite times of the day is when she’s allowed up on our bed in the morning with all our dogs where she can get lots of love and rubs, and cuddles in next to all of us. She will nudge your hand for more rubs!  With patience, time, and the influence of her small furry siblings, Sissy's confidence is growing daily. Having a home where someone can be around more often would allow Sissy the time and exposure to her people for her to learn to trust them quicker.  In her present foster home, Sissy took a couple weeks to feel comfortable to allow her foster parents to give her rubs.  After a few weeks she started following us around the house, and after a month she started greeting us at the door when we came home.  She now will join me up on the couch for rubs and cuddle in next to me.  Her sweet playful side shines every day!  Sissy would be a wonderful companion for another small playful dog.  Sissy currently lives with small dogs and adults. Energetic large dogs and young children make her very nervous.  Older respectful teenage children may be okay, but young children scare her.  A larger dog that is low key and quiet may be okay with slow introductions.  A quieter household with not a lot of visitors would make Sissy most comfortable.    If you are looking for a playful companion for your small dog, and a girl who’s sweet, gentle, quiet, and even tempered then Sissy may be the girl for you.  Every day she shows us what a wonderful girl she is blossoming into!  It will be important to be patient with her to earn her trust, and to have a quieter home with no young kids, and no high energy large dogs.  Sissy would be fine hanging out in another room in the house with a “safe place” if young kids visited.  A fenced in yard would be the perfect home for Sissy.  Fill out an application, I’d love to tell you all about this sweet girl!  Sissy is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Introducing Bobby Baker, the charming 1.5-year-old Chihuahua mix with a heart of gold and long legs! Bobby's journey began with apprehension, but with patience and affection, he's blossomed into a devoted and loving companion. While Bobby may initially freeze and bark at new people and animals, he's not aggressive! Although he prefers women/girls, he just simply needs some time to warm up to unfamiliar faces. Once he forms a bond, he becomes the epitome of affection, delighting in cuddles and attention. This toddler pup is fully potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained, making him a joy to care for. However, he prefers to be with his humans than his crate and may let you know that when you leave. Bobby adores car rides and relishes playtime with toys, although nothing beats snuggling up next to his favorite humans. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, he truly thrives on human companionship. Bobby is eager to please and remarkably intelligent, quickly grasping basic training commands. His playful and goofy nature guarantees endless entertainment! Despite his protective instincts and initial wariness of strangers, Bobby's loving and affectionate demeanor shines once he feels secure. He's the ultimate lap dog, always ready to cozy up and soak in some extra love. With patience and understanding, Bobby promises to be a cherished addition to any loving home. If you're seeking a loyal companion who will capture your heart (and perhaps your snacks too), look no further than Bobby Baker! Bobby Baker is from Texas.
