Story
Meet Roscoe, the Chihuahua Mix, a resilient and loving canine who has come a long way in just a few short months. Background:On July 10th, Roscoe, previously known as Spot, found himself in a kennel, overwhelmed by fear and confusion. Despite the good people providing him with food and toys, he struggled to trust them.Foster Journey:On September 2nd, Roscoe embarked on a journey of transformation. He left the shelter and moved to a foster home, where a single, dedicated female caregiver focused on helping him feel safe and rebuild trust. During this time, he received a new name, Roscoe, which he now responds to.Progress and Adventures:Roscoe quickly adapted to a leash and found joy in going on walks. He relished being picked up, snuggled, and kissed, while also displaying his playful side through activities like playing with toys and doing "zoomies" around the house. In the past three weeks, Roscoe has thrived and shown his fun, playful, and quirky personality. He participated in the Paws on the Trail Walk event for Arnell Humane Society, demonstrating excellent behavior around people and other dogs.Roscoe made friends with other small male and female dogs.He met the neighbor and allowed her to pet him, as well as playfully interacted with her small female dog.Roscoe had an adventurous car ride to a coffee shop, initially trembling but quickly adapting to the environment without being bothered by typical coffee shop sounds.During this outing, he reunited with a friend from the shelter, ran up to her, accepted treats, and sat on her lap.Afterward, Roscoe had a meet and greet with a large male dog, showing reactivity initially, but with patience and training, he improved his behavior.Current Status:In the five weeks that Roscoe has been in foster care, he has blossomed and grown more comfortable. However, he is still working on house-training, although he has shown progress by holding his potty overnight and sometimes during the day while the foster is at work.Roscoe's journey is one of resilience, trust-building, and growth. He's ready to find a loving forever home where he can continue to thrive with the support and care of a dedicated owner.

Snapshot of Stacie: Size: I'll probably be closer to 15-20 pounds when I'm full grown. I'm around 13 pounds right now. Activity Level: I love to play hard and snuggle hard! Noise Level: I bark to let you know something is happening, when I'm excited, or when I want something. They are short periods or time but I would probably do best with no shared walls. Good with Dogs: I love all dogs! Good with Cats: I don't know what to think about cats. But I co-exist with them just fine. Good with Kids: I love little ones! Good with Strangers: Yep! Potty Trained: I'm a puppy, so I'm still working on it! Crate Trained: Yes Shedding: Minimal Hello, Stacie here! I'm an "older" puppy with a little body and TONS of personality. I was once described as shy before coming to my foster home. But now that I'm settled in you'd never know (and really, I was never that shy. Just a tad less outgoing than my sister Skipper!). I'm fantastic with dogs of all sizes and kids. I live with cats as well. They're weird and sometimes I bark at them. But overall we co-exist well. My favorite activities are playing keep away with my foster siblings (I'm the one who LOVES being chased), snuggling next to my foster mom when she sits on the recliner, and chewing on nylabones! I'm still a puppy so sometimes I forget what is for dogs and what is for humans. But I really prefer nylabones over anything. So if you help redirect me to one, it's an easy swap! I kennel well but will sometimes bark when I first go in or if I see a cat walk past me. I just really need to let it be known that its SO unfair that they get free roam 100% of the time and I don't. Potty training is going well! But with the new cold weather that I'm experiencing, I'm regressing a little. Luckily, I'm super duper smart so I'm sure I'll be 100% potty trained in no time! My perfect home would include humans who love to snuggle, play, and don't mind a little jumping or barking (I'm a young, excitable pup! Can you blame me?). I'm small so my jumping doesn't bother the four year old but babies who are learning to walk may have a different opinion. I would LOVE a dog playmate of any size but I would also do just fine being the center of attention. Stacie is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for their age. Story
About Marshall: Size? Small Activity Level? Active when we take him outside, but he is also a very calm and cuddly dog. Noise Level? He barks at men and other people when walking down the street. Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Yes Good with Strangers? No Potty Trained? Working on it. Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? No Hi, my name is Marshall. I am a 2-year-old Male Chihuahua. I am a loyal companion who loves snuggles almost as much as I love food. I love going on walks, but I do not like sudden/loud movements, wet grass, or thunderstorms. It might take a bit for me to warm up to people or other animals in the house because I am a bit territorial so please give me time, especially when meeting men. I also have separation anxiety and may need someone to help me adjust, but once we pass that stage I am the most cuddly, loyal, loving dog you'll ever meet! I am only 2 years old so I get the zoomies quite often and I love to chase, but don't chase me because I'll get scared! I love to play tug-o-war with socks or anything I can hold onto that's not an actual toy. When we go on car rides, I am the best lap passenger. I get super excited when my owner comes home because it means treats and cuddles! Because I'm so young, I am still learning tricks and words. I'm still learning to sit, but I love showing off my dancing skills when I see treats. I am potty trained, but I don't know how to tell you when I need to go outside, I just need to be brought out 4-5 times a day. I would do best in a quiet house with few strangers coming in and out and will be patient with the time it takes for me to acclimate and how vocal I am. If your house is the life of the party on weekends, we might not be a great match. However, I'll be perfect for someone who wants to relax and cuddle, or go out for car rides and walks! Would you like to be my fur-ever family? We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a 'full grown size' of many of our younger animals.Interested in adopting me? I am Foxy. I am from Arkansas. From the foster: Foxy is a super sweet, energetic young girl. She loves being cuddled and petted. She is still pretty puppy-like and could use some basic obedience training. She is making excellent progress with her house training.

Story
Hello! I am from Minnesota. From the foster: My given name is Dino, but my foster mom calls me Bunny! Why? I'm soft, have floppy ears and I hop! I'm listed as a Chihuahua mix, but after some review the conclusion is I'm more of a small terrier mix. There's probably a little Chi in the DNA somewhere! For my young age and rough start, I'm pretty smart. I'm about 75% potty trained. I whine or bark, usually at the door, when I need outside. I still have a couple accidents, so my adoptive parent(s) will have to be patient with me and follow through on my training. I'm learning sit when I get a treat and by my dish while waiting to be fed. I'm also learning bed, kennel, no, drop, run, toy, and bedtime. I will fetch toys when tossed, and bring them back. I'm still learning how to drop. I love to bite and chew. My foster mom keeps lots of soft squeaky toys, deer antlers, and teeny tennis balls for me to chew on and fetch. I would not do well with young children or rough activity, as sometimes I bite the hand that pets and plays with me. Not my fault! I'll be this way until my permanent teeth come in and I'm more comfortable. Patience and training reinforcement is needed with someone my age. I love to run in my big backyard with the resident dog, a Chiweenie. We chase each other, play with sticks and bark at squirrels. I need a home with a fenced yard and space to run and play. I love people, other dogs, my tiny filled Kong, peanut butter, soft warm blankets, looking at myself in a mirror, my cuddly sweaters, and lots of toys and chews. Are you retired? Work from home? Have a fenced yard? You may have just met your love match! I need someone home with me most of the day because I love my people and want to be with them. I'm very sad without them. I need my people to keep working with me on my training so I have a happy home.
