Story
Hi, I’m Maggie. I’m a 2 year old chihuahua mix! I came to MN from Mexico, where I was found living in a hole inside a rock mountain. When I got to MN my foster mom realized I was limping quite a bit. It was then determined by our vets that I needed a double back knee surgery as I had luxating patella in both my back knees. Don’t worry, my foster momma did all the hard work and I feel so much better now and am like a brand new dog!  I have come a long way in adjusting to indoor family life, and have learned so much!  It will take me a few minutes before I’ll let my guard down, but once I learn you wanna be my friend we will be best friends. I am goofy and will play with other dogs big or small, but it may take me a few days to warm up to them. I’m not a big fan of active young puppies that always want to invade my space.  But I do great with older, mellower dogs or dogs that just leave me alone.  I’m great with cats and have even interacted with a few chickens.  I do have a strong interest in rabbits and will attempt to chase them whenever I see one.  The thrill wears off after about three seconds, and I go back about my business.  Some of my favorite things to do are:  go for car rides, or boat rides, lie in the sun (or under a blanket, if it’s cold out), play with a rubber ball (I can toss it, chase it and catch it all by myself!) and on occasion I like to play wrestling with my foster sibling who is close to my size.  When we hear our foster dad start up the four-wheeler, we both run to it because he lets us hang out in an attached basket and cruise around with him.  It’s really fun!  I also love treat time, and will do anything for a soft treat, like Beggin Strips.  When I am in cuddle mode, I don’t like to share my space with other animals and may growl at them if they disturb my sleep. I love cuddles, I am the most cuddly girl ever.   I would rather curl up and cuddle with you under a blanket all day long.  At night, I sleep with my foster, burrowed deep under the blankets and don’t make a peep until long after everyone else is up. I am kennel trained and do really enjoy hanging in my kennel, but my foster has been letting me free roam all over the house and I’ve been really good.  Most of the time, I just hang out on the couch until it’s time to go outside or grab a snack.  I am officially 99.99% potty trained, although when I go to a new home I might have an accident or two while we learn to communicate with each other.    I will bark at new people coming into the house but will calm down once I notice the other dogs are ok with them. If they are too intrusive or in my face too much at our initial meeting I may growl. I never snap or bite though. I just need some extra time to learn new people are okay!  Anyways do you think you could be my forever home??    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 3, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
Meet Zoe, a Chihuahua born approx 3/7/2020. Zoe is a sweet girl who has had a lot of transitions in her life. She can be a little slow to warm up, but once she does, she is very cuddly. She has seemed to attach strongly to the mom of the house and does get anxious when she leaves, but eventually settles down. She’s been alone up to 6 hours, has been free floating around the house, and has not had any accidents or destroyed anything during that time. Zoe is house-trained, and scratches at the door when she needs to be let out. She is not kennel trained. She has been great with our 3.5 year old daughter. Initially she was respectful and a little afraid of our cat, but she has had a few instances of lashing out toward the cat, She has been great with our small dog, and has met other big dogs on leash and has reacted positively. She loves walks, and while she pulls sometimes, she is easily redirected. Zoe is a medium energy level. She loves running off-leash on our acreage, but can also curl up on the couch and be content. In the car Zoe wants to ride on your lap, but also does fine in the kennel during rides. Zoe is treat motivated, playful, and sweet and will make a great family dog for a very lucky family.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hello my name is Jacinta (Tina for short) and I’m looking for my perfect home! I’m a 5 year old, 13 pound little girl, with lots of love and attention to give. My favorite thing in the world is to cuddle up next to my humans on a comfy couch or chair, especially under the blanket. Im an expect cuddler and sun-bather! I love to be scratched on my face and head. I’m a medium-low energy gal and don’t always require daily walking. A 15 minute walk or indoor play is all I really need. I don’t exactly like the rain or cold. I may have a little harder time going potty outside when it’s raining, but my foster mom is able to work around that pretty easily. Having a little covered area outside to potty under could make this even easier. I’m currently doing a great job of going potty outside on a consistent schedule, but schedule or location changes can cause some accidents. Something I’m great at no matter what is my kennel! I love having my own kennel area to go in and out of when I want. I do great sleeping quietly in my kennel when I’m home alone, even for extended periods like a work day. I’m also pretty quiet for a chihuahua, only barking when someone comes to the house or I hear other barking while I’m at home ! As far as other pets go I seem to be fine around cats, but I would probably do best with cats that are comfortable around dogs. I also do well around dogs my size but I prefer that they not get right up in my face. I’m pretty tolerant of kids and appreciate when they’re gentle and considerate. Also, I do pretty well in the car. Finally, I’ll admit I don’t have much obedience training. I could use maybe a class or some at home training if you’d like me to learn how to sit, stay, leash manners, etc. But so far this hasn’t really been an issue for my foster humans since I’m sweet as pie! If I sound like the perfect match please apply to adopt me!       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Come meet me at one of our two Adoption Events this Labor Day weekend! 💜 Trove Brewing in Burnsville on Saturday, 9/5 from 2-4pm 💚 Washington Square Bar & Grill in White Bear Lake on Monday, 9/7 from 4 - 6:30pm Age: Estimated DOB 6/16/2026 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: No, just a puppy Crate trained: No, just a puppy Fluff isn't your typical s'mores ingredient, just like this sweet girl isn't your typical pup. She's hard of hearing and possibly deaf, but that certainly hasn't stopped her from having a good time. We've noticed that Fluff is likely deaf or very hard of hearing, something our veterinarian agrees with, although she has not had an official hearing diagnosis. She may experience the world a little differently than her siblings, but she doesn't seem particularly concerned about that. She loves to play, is especially interested in our big resident dogs, and is still plenty vocal when she's having fun. She also tends to sleep longer than her siblings, but once she's awake, she's ready to jump right back into the action. Like all of her siblings, Fluff is wonderful with kids and other dogs, but she's also a typical puppy who hasn't had formal training yet. Her future family should expect plenty of chewing, exploring, playful nibbles, and puppy antics while she learns how to be a very good dog. Based on her appearance, our best guess is that Fluff is a Terrier mix, potentially with Jack Russell Terrier, Fox Terrier, or Dachshund in the mix. Breed identification is only our best guess, and we expect her to be small to medium sized when fully grown. Fluff's future family will need to be comfortable teaching her through visual cues, touch and other communication methods rather than relying on verbal commands. Her deafness doesn't mean she can't learn, it just means her people will need to be a little more creative and intentional about how they communicate with her. If you're ready to give this special girl the patience and understanding she needs, apply to adopt Fluff and give her a forever family where she can keep doing what she does best: having a really good time. ❤️ Adoption Fee: $625

Graham is happiest when he's following along with his people or his siblings. His tail seems to have a mind of its own and rarely stops wagging, especially when someone gives him attention. He's an affectionate little guy who loves to be part of the action, but he's also perfectly happy to settle in for some serious snuggle time. Graham is great with kids and other dogs, although he's also a very typical puppy who is still learning that fingers aren't chew toys and that the world is not one giant thing to investigate with his mouth. He hasn't started formal training yet, so his future family should be ready to teach him all the basics with plenty of patience and positive reinforcement. Based on his appearance, our best guess is that Graham is a Terrier mix, potentially with Jack Russell Terrier, Fox Terrier, or Dachshund in the mix. Breed identification is only our best guess, and we expect him to be small to medium sized when fully grown. Every s’more needs a Graham, and this little guy is ready to be the missing piece of your family.
