You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Yume found herself unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. She is timid, but warms up quickly, she does warm up a little faster to women then men but does great with both. She would likely do best with a home with no kids under age 6 due to timidness. Large calm dogs she is fine with and calmer puppies are ok too but does very well with dogs her own size. She currently lives with 3 small dogs and she would do best in a home with other confident & patient dogs. In TX She loved toys, especially stuffies but we were told she tends to guard new toys for a few days before being ok to share. So far in MN she has yet to find any toys of interest with all the new she is experiencing. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Yume, or as the foster calls her, 'Mimi,' is a 12 pound bundle of love. She is about two years old, it's pretty obvious that at some point she was a spoiled little girl. However, something happened, and Mimi found herself at a shelter in Texas--filthy, full of ticks, and with very long, curled, painful nails. Most likely because of some trauma she experienced, she is a little skittish initally, but each day in her foster home, she is getting more comfortable and crawling into foster mom's lap for cuddles more often. Mimi does not know what to do on a leash (but we are working on it!) and can jump over a standard sized baby gate (even with those short legs!). She loves snuggles and giving kisses and sleeps in between her foster mom and dad. She can be trusted to be left out overnight as welll if she wants her alone time. She knows how to use a doggy pee pad if unable to go outside, but goes outside as well and is enjoying the newly discovered grass. She prefers to eat from a slow feeder, enjoys standing on the back of the chair so she can look out the window at cars going by, likes her foster doggie brother and sisters, and can be left alone uncrated.With a little time and patience, Mimi would be a wonderful addition to any family!
