Story
Snapshot of Teegan: Size? Small (12-ish pounds) Activity Level? I can run circles around dogs when I'm outside. But when I'm inside, I'm pretty chill! Noise Level? I'm pretty quiet unless I need something! Good with Dogs? Yes! Good with Cats? Yes! Good with Kids? Yes! Good with Strangers? I may start off a little shy. But I warm up quickly. Potty Trained? I have a hard time adjusting to new schedules. But once I'm settled in and I know the routine, my accidents stop! Crate Trained? I will go in my crate if needed. But I prefer to be out of it! Shedding? Minimal About Teegan: Hi! My name is Teegan and I'm a small girl with a big heart! I came to TCPR from local animal control where I was found on the side of the road with a "free" sign. While at animal control, I was pretty shy. But the moment I entered my foster home I became a social butterfly! I live with other dogs and cats in my foster home. I get along with both! But sometimes I can be a little protective of my space. I also live with young kids and I think they're great! I like to follow them around and clean up the food scraps after meal time. I'm basically a personal vacuum! I struggled a little with potty training when I first came to my foster home. But now that I know their routine, I'm a pro! I just needed regular potty breaks and to know where the door was. I kennel well at night and don't have any accidents in my crate! But I would much prefer to have free roam of the house if I can! My foster home has a fenced in yard and I LOVE to run laps around it. But when I'm inside you can usually find me chewing on a nylabone or scoping out the blankets to find my next place to nap. Overall, my energy level is pretty manageable even if I don't get a lot of time to run around outside. I mainly just want to be with my people and get attention from them! Teegan is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for her age. Story
Hi all! My name is Bender but my friends call me Charlie. I am a fun-loving guy looking for my forever family! I was recently returned to rescue because I grew bigger than my previous family was expecting me to get. Their loss because bigger just means more of me to love you with! I am currently about 35 lbs and my mom thinks I’m some sort of yellow lab mix so at 7 months old I will probably still have a little growing to do. I am your typical happy-go-lucky pup who loves to give kisses, cuddle on the couch and play with (destroy) toys. More than anything I love to play and run around with my foster brother as I have lots of energy to burn off. I seem to be good with dogs and people so far although I sometimes bark at them out the window. I met some kids at an event and LOVED them! As I am a puppy, I can get a bit mouthy and jump up on you when we are playing, but I never mean any harm and my mom has me working on it. Speaking of training I know how to sit already and we are working hold/wait commands. Potty training is a work in progress, I sometimes have a hard time holding my bladder when I get over excited or anxious so my mom is taking me out often when I’m not in my crate. I do like my crate okay, I go right in when asked and am pretty quiet overall in there until I get bored or need to go to the bathroom then I whine or bark to get your attention. You need to give me something constructive to chew on otherwise I might nibble on the bedding. I go all night in my crate with no accidents and am generally pretty good during the day when my mom is working as long as we take a few breaks. If I can tell that you are actually leaving I might cry in my crate for the first few minutes. I am currently living in a condo and my mom thinks I would do better with more space and a yard to run around in to help get my energy out. I do pull on a leash and am pretty strong already for my size. Sometimes my mom brings me to a friend’s yard and I am good in the car on the way over and then super excited to race all around when I get there. I am learning how to play fetch too, which is so cool! Although giving the ball back is still a work in progress. I have a lot of love to give, and I would love to give it to you! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $575.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 25, 2024, 2:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $300 plus taxThelma sleeps in her kennel like a pro all night long and even finds comfort in it during the day.  If you're on a couch, she will find you though and demand snuggles.  She loves to burrow in with blankets and pillows. Almost like she is making a big comfy nest for herself, which has led to me not being able to find her because inevitably the blanket nest is bigger than her! She was great with meeting grand kids. Thelma can and will climb over baby gates and on furniture to get to you. She has acclimated to our resident dogs very well and will require a canine companion in her adoptive home.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
Hello!  My name is Willy Wonka, and I am an energetic, fun loving young dog that enjoys eating and playing. I’m a Chihuahua born 5/23/23. I am learning some skills like sit and down, but I need some more practice.  I also have not walked on a leash before, but my foster mom says I'm doing great so far!  I have not had any accidents here since my very first day (I was very nervous)!  I love my foster sisters' toys and can play by myself or with other dogs, but my foster sisters don't love to play.  I would do great in a home with other dogs but will do fine without them also!  I have some skin issues that we are working to resolve and have gotten some medications for them.  I LOVE food and use my nose to find it all over, so it would be good if you kept food out of my reach.  I have a great personality and love to share my enthusiasm! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Elodie is a charming 1-year-old, 7-pound sweetheart who is settling into her foster home and eager to find her forever family! She gets along with dogs of all sizes and adores snuggling, although she’s still a bit cautious about being picked up, likely due to adjusting to life off the streets. Elodie is house trained and making great progress with crate training. She has a playful side and absolutely adores toys and bones, often gathering a little pile in her bed to enjoy. If you’re looking for a tiny companion with a big heart, Elodie might be the perfect match for you!Apply to adopt: charmingpetrescue.org/adoptIMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats.
