Story
Hi all! My name is Bender but my friends call me Charlie. I am a fun-loving guy looking for my forever family! I was recently returned to rescue because I grew bigger than my previous family was expecting me to get. Their loss because bigger just means more of me to love you with! I am currently about 35 lbs and my mom thinks I’m some sort of yellow lab mix so at 7 months old I will probably still have a little growing to do. I am your typical happy-go-lucky pup who loves to give kisses, cuddle on the couch and play with (destroy) toys. More than anything I love to play and run around with my foster brother as I have lots of energy to burn off. I seem to be good with dogs and people so far although I sometimes bark at them out the window. I met some kids at an event and LOVED them! As I am a puppy, I can get a bit mouthy and jump up on you when we are playing, but I never mean any harm and my mom has me working on it. Speaking of training I know how to sit already and we are working hold/wait commands. Potty training is a work in progress, I sometimes have a hard time holding my bladder when I get over excited or anxious so my mom is taking me out often when I’m not in my crate. I do like my crate okay, I go right in when asked and am pretty quiet overall in there until I get bored or need to go to the bathroom then I whine or bark to get your attention. You need to give me something constructive to chew on otherwise I might nibble on the bedding. I go all night in my crate with no accidents and am generally pretty good during the day when my mom is working as long as we take a few breaks. If I can tell that you are actually leaving I might cry in my crate for the first few minutes. I am currently living in a condo and my mom thinks I would do better with more space and a yard to run around in to help get my energy out. I do pull on a leash and am pretty strong already for my size. Sometimes my mom brings me to a friend’s yard and I am good in the car on the way over and then super excited to race all around when I get there. I am learning how to play fetch too, which is so cool! Although giving the ball back is still a work in progress. I have a lot of love to give, and I would love to give it to you! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $575.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 6:04 pm

Story
I am your sunshine, your little sunshine. I'll make you smile when the skies are gray.  Kiku is the sweetest little lady that was rescued from the streets of Mexico. She’s a Chihuahua born approximately 2/20/23. My heart melts everytime she rests her head in my lap. She loves nothing more than to snuggle in your lap or curl up next to you in bed or on the couch. She loves to zoom around outside, does well on a leash and is house and potty trained. Kiku does her morning business within a minute of being left out. Bonus points..if you need to get going in a hurry. She gets along with smaller dogs (not a fan of large dogs), doesn't mind cats and loves all humans. She rides great in the car, loves to chew on her antler, lay in any sunny spot and follows you around to keep you company. She's not food aggressive and shares a bowl of kibble with my dogs, sits nice for treats, not a big barker and gives the best kisses. Kiku loves to play and snuggle with other dogs but would do fine being your one and only. Kiku has mentioned she really wants a forever family who has a treat jar full of tasty goods for her.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $300 plus taxThelma sleeps in her kennel like a pro all night long and even finds comfort in it during the day.  If you're on a couch, she will find you though and demand snuggles.  She loves to burrow in with blankets and pillows. Almost like she is making a big comfy nest for herself, which has led to me not being able to find her because inevitably the blanket nest is bigger than her! She was great with meeting grand kids. Thelma can and will climb over baby gates and on furniture to get to you. She has acclimated to our resident dogs very well and will require a canine companion in her adoptive home.   * I did test positive for heartworm and will be receiving treatment provided by MARS to live a long healthy life.   *A dog with Heartworms is not directly contagious to other animals. Heartworms are transmitted by an infected mosquito. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
Hello!  My name is Willy Wonka, and I am an energetic, fun loving young dog that enjoys eating and playing. I’m a Chihuahua born 5/23/24. I am learning some skills like sit and down, but I need some more practice.  I also have not walked on a leash before, but my foster mom says I'm doing great so far!  I have not had any accidents here since my very first day (I was very nervous)!  I love my foster sisters' toys and can play by myself or with other dogs, but my foster sisters don't love to play.  I would do great in a home with other dogs but will do fine without them also!  I have some skin issues that we are working to resolve and have gotten some medications for them.  I LOVE food and use my nose to find it all over, so it would be good if you kept food out of my reach.  I have a great personality and love to share my enthusiasm! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hola! My name is Blossom! I arrived from Tijuana, Mexico at the end of March.  I am estimated to be a Chihuahua mix, about 2 years old and 8 pounds.  I had a rough life in Mexico and was found malnourished, with mange and a tick borne disease.  I've recovered well and am doing great now.  Considering all I've been through, I am the sweetest and silliest girl.  I get along with people and the three small dogs in my foster home.  I am playful, but take social cues to settle down from other dogs well and am learning to use toys.  I do great in my crate at night and while my foster family is away.  I'm quiet in there and haven't had an accident nor do I destroy any beds or toys. I ride well in the car in my kennel too. I'm doing well at going potty outside in my fenced in yard and am working on my leash walking skills.  When unsupervised in the house I still tinkle occasionally.  My foster family doesn't have any cats or kids, so not sure if I like those yet.  I am pretty excitable and am working on learning how to be calm and obedient.  I'm starting to figure out what sit, down and stay means, but spin and dance are more fun!  I'm also learning that I don't need to bark to alert you to every sound and thing I see outside. With a patient teacher and supportive family, I can learn to be the best buddy ever!  Ready to be my adventure buddy?! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Mouse is a sweet and quiet pup who loves to give kisses. He’s a Chihuahua born 3/23/23. He still has a lot of the puppy in him; he’s still mouthy, steals shoes whenever he can and hasn’t figured out when to leave his foster siblings alone. He so wants to learn and wants to be close to his human at all times to help him learn. He’s happiest when he’s in a human's arms or in their laps. Mouse is very well house trained and doesn’t object to being kenneled. He does cry in the kennel if you’re still home so I haven’t been kenneling him at night. Mouse doesn’t quite understand the purpose of a leash yet. Since he’s so small, he had no trouble finding a weak spot in my fence. He came right back when I called him with “Puppa” and knee slaps. He doesn’t respond to Mouse and is just learning “come” so I’ve been keeping him on a lead. Mouse has so much love to give and is such a handsome young pup. He may be the dog you’ve been looking for! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
