Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. CURRENTLY In foster in Tumwater, WA HANK is a Chihuahua mix neutered male; 4 yrs old and weighs 11#s. He is a sweet, intelligent dog who will be very loyal to his owner. He needs to be in a home with a female. He is not super comfortable with males. There could be a male in the home but it will likely take awhile for him to come around to a male. Not his fault likely a male was mean to him. He was following the female rescuer around within 30 minutes after receiving him. At the stores, he is by my feet and understands the word “stay,” which he will literally stay. Hank is loves to be with me on the sofa and has clearly made friends with the other foster dogs. He prefers to sleep next to me in my bed. If you want a dog that is loyal, attentive to your needs and is ready to give you all his love and faithfulness - then Hank is for you! Hank is crate trained; leash trained; walks without a leash; house trained and uses the doggy door. We have not had him around children but with his loving, calm personality I’m sure he would be good with anyone that treats him well. He’s also indifferent to cats. He’d rather be with his people. At just 7 months old and 20 perfect pounds, this chihuahua mix is the kind of pup who brings sunshine into every room he enters. He’s wonderfully sweet-natured, endlessly friendly, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. Give him a ball and he’s all in for fetch, offer a tug toy and he’ll show off his playful side — and when the fun winds down, he turns into the softest, warmest cuddle companion you could hope for. He’s affectionate, joyful, and ready to love his people with his whole heart. If you’re looking for a pup who will brighten every day, Asadero is ready to come home. Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. MAX is a neutered male, approximately 6 ½ yrs old. He weighs 20#. (See below for his DNA Test.) We have had him professionally groomed to show off his beautiful tail. We had him shaved some which helps him keep clean. He’s a very sweet dog but he has gone through a major life event...the owner had to surrender him due to their loss of housing. Max took the adjustment hard but he has pulled through and now shows himself to be a wonderful affectionate dog. He is active and happy yet shy and submissive. He was not exposed to much of the outside world… like walking into the store or going to the park. Max gets along great with the other dogs. I see a lot of future for him with a loving person or couple that would like some company on an evening walk and fun with a picnic lunch. He is food motivated. Max likes being on the couch or in bed with his person. Max frequently comes up asking for love. He is house trained and most of the time he leaves my cats alone. I did catch him playing with one of my cats... they were both face-to-face and with one paw each swinging at each other. I wish I could have gotten that in a video. Max is also easy on the leash. I would NOT put him with young children… “adult-like” children would be fine. He is basically fairly quiet and would do well in an apartment. DNA TEST: 25% Dachshund (Mini Shorthair) 25% Pomeranian 12.5% Chihuahua 12.5% English Cocker Spaniel 12.5% Tibetan Spaniel 12.5% Breed Groups (meaning mixes!)
