Story
🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster homeHi… I’m Ttoro 💛 I’m a 2-year-old boy, a tiny Chihuahua weighing just 3kg. I may be small, but I have a big heart—especially for my person. I was rescued just before it was too late, and for the past 6 months, I’ve been living in a foster home where I’ve learned what love feels like. Because of that, I’ve grown very attached to my person. I do like people… I really do. But sometimes, if someone I don’t know suddenly tries to touch me, I can get scared and react. It’s not because I’m mean— it’s because I’m trying to protect myself… and the person I love. The good news is, I’ve already been working on this, and I’ve gotten much calmer and better. If you give me a little time and don’t rush me, I’ll start to understand that I’m safe with you too. I get along okay with other dogs, but when it comes to food… I can be a little sensitive. Sometimes I worry someone might take it, so I might grumble a bit. (But if the other dog is bigger than me… I suddenly become very polite 😅) More than anything, I bond deeply with one person. And when I do, I want to stay close and protect them. That’s why I’m looking for someone who can love me in a calm and steady way— not too overwhelming, not too fast. Someone who will respect my space at first, let me come closer on my own, and gently show me the world is a safe place. If you understand small dogs like me—especially Chihuahuas— you’ll know that we love deeply, we just need trust to grow first. The good thing is… I’ve already lived in a home before. So I think I can adjust again pretty well, especially if you’re patient with me. I may be a little shy in the beginning, but once I choose you… I’ll be your tiny shadow, your loyal little guardian, your forever companion. Will you be my person? 💛

Story
Hi… my name is Kkamang 🖤 I’m a 1 year and 6 month old Chihuahua mix boy, just 5kg (11 lbs) — small enough to fit in your arms, and hoping to fit in your heart too. I was rescued from a dog meat farm. Since the day I was born, I didn’t know what it felt like to have someone call my name. No warm arms. No soft whispers. I wasn’t a “someone” — I was just… there. Inside a metal cage, each day wasn’t about learning. It was about enduring. I learned how to be quiet. How to wait. How to survive. So when I first meet someone new, I pause for a moment. It doesn’t mean “go away.” It means, “Is it really safe this time?” But if you offer me a gentle voice… a small treat… a little patience, my tiny wall falls very quickly. Because the truth is — I like people. I always have. Once I know you, I’m much more affectionate than you’d expect. I’ll press my little body right next to you, sit close, and look into your eyes as if I’m asking for love. No one ever taught me how to be loved, but somehow, I know how to want it. I get along quietly and peacefully with other dogs too. I don’t cause trouble. I know how to share space and not feel lonely. Home life, though… that will be new for me. A house. Daily routines. Rules about where to potty. Time spent alone. I may make mistakes. I may be clumsy at first. But those moments won’t be because I’m lacking — they’ll simply be signs of a life I was never given the chance to learn. Please wait for me. Please teach me slowly. If you do, I will trust you with my whole heart. I will become a deeply loving, loyal little family member who believes completely in my person. I was born just to survive. Now, I want to live. I want a life where I don’t fear being sent back to a cage. A life where I don’t worry about being abandoned again. A life where someone calls my name every day. That’s why I’m looking for a family who will be patient as I learn home life step by step, who will use gentle voices instead of force, and who will promise that I will never return to a cage again. Will you be my very first family? Please let the rest of my life be remembered not for sadness — but for love. 🖤🐾

Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay via Zelle, PayPal, or cash. Poor innocent, sweet & forgotten about Gapy, was ready to be euthanized in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. An email went out for help & this beautiful boy was on that list. Yes, it appears at the age of 3 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable. We rescued this beautiful boy & 2 other sweet baby dolls out of that same kill shelter from that very same kill list all at once. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Gapy who is now looking for his very own forever home who will never give up on him again & love him just as his foster mum & we do. After we got Gapy all his care with his amazing foster mum he will be bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find his loving forever home. We truly believe that Gapy was originally someone’s dog & they just did not want him anymore from his mannerisms & his behavior of knowing certain things. All this boy wants is to be loved & have a home to call his own. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. When we got him out of the shelter his nails were so extremely long & his nails were clipped by our vets but will need to be & regularly dremeled to get them to a good place. Gapy at times can have a big personality & knows what he wants. He isn’t the biggest cuddler but enjoys being patted & being loved. He is a independent little man. That being said, Gapy is a good eater, he loves to eat & he is making up for lost time & put on weight instantly in his foster home. Gapy’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He also enjoys sunning himself in the backyard & also sitting on the couch & looking out the window, he really enjoys taking in the sites. But he will also do his own thing. Gapy has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. Gapy rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. But has done amazing in his foster home. We are looking for a forever home for Gapy where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog in the home for him to thrive. Gapy loves other dogs & needs another dog in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. This boy enjoys going into a crate sometimes so that tells us that someone used to call him to go into a crate. In his foster home he sleeps in the bed with his foster mum or will sleep on the dog bed. Gapy is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Gapy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with a playful dog. Gapy is roughly just over 6 years old & 21 lbs & is perhaps a dachshund & chihuahua mix, (chiweenie), male. He had a dental & polish & we got him neutered. Gapy is, microchipped, heart worm negative, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We are currently treating Gapy for a bad skin infection. We have spent far more on Gapy, with all of his medical care getting him well thank his adoption fee comes close to covering with, neuter, paying his shelter fee to get him out of the shelter, shots, flea meds, dewormer, boarding, dental scale & polish etc. Gapy has been around cats since being in the rescue & did well with the cat in his foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. Just because he got along fine with the cat in the foster home doesn’t mean he will get along with all cats. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Gapy was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Gapy’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Gapy potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Gapy has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Gapy & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Gapy who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little chap. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Gapy has an adoption fee of $750 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
Bernie was rescued in the nick of time from a shelter in Los Angeles mere hours before being euthanized. After being fostered for a month in LA he came to Renton. In only 3 months with us Bernie has shown us despite weighing 14 pounds he has a larger than life lovable and strong personality. Bernie is estimated to be about 8 years old and was neutered before coming to Seattle in December. He’s house trained and does well on a leash. He loves to play fetch and frisbee and can tag along for long walks no problem. Once he gets to know you, He loves to be in your lap and will spend as much time with you as he can. He loves pets, belly rubs, and playing tug-of-war with toys. Sadly we don’t know much about the first 8 years of Bernie’s life, but it’s clear he has a wariness of new people and feels protective of his spaces. Bernie would do best with an adult only home, possibly with other small dogs to help show him how to be at ease. Recommended behavioral training or experienced owners.

Meet Chocolate A Shy Soul with a Heart of Gold Chocolates world was turned upside down when his owners lost their home and left him behind. He didnt just lose his familyhe lost his sense of safety and trust. Now, this sweet boy is looking for someone patient enough to help him heal and gentle enough to see the gold beneath the fear. Chocolate is: Unsocialized and shy, but never aggressive Okay with other mellow dogs who respect his space A deeply sensitive soul with so much love to give A work in progressbut worth every bit of time and care Hes not the dog wholl run into your arms on day onebut he is the one who will slowly learn to trust you, love you, and show you just how brave he really is. Chocolate doesnt need perfectionhe just needs someone to say, I see you, and I believe in you. Will you be the one to give him his second chance?

Story
🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster home Bori is a mature, gentle girl who spent a long time in a shelter before being rescued. She is the kind of dog whose presence is so quiet that you might not even notice she’s there— soft, calm, and unobtrusive. She rarely barks and enjoys simply staying close to her person. From the very first moment you meet her, she’s the kind of dog who makes you think, “I just want to hold her.” Bori’s personality is pure gentleness. She is calm, well-mannered, and never disruptive to the atmosphere of a home. She stays quietly by your side, which somehow makes you care for her even more, with a tender feeling in your heart. One important note: Bori tends to chase cats, so a home without cats would be best for her. In a new environment, she may have a few potty accidents at first due to nervousness. With a little time and patience, she will adjust and gradually settle in. Bori doesn’t ask for much. A quiet space, a patient person, and a family willing to spend calm, unhurried time together is all she needs. She isn’t overly affectionate or demanding, but just having her nearby is comforting in itself. That’s the kind of dog Bori is. She is no longer looking to be alone— she is waiting for a family who will stay quietly by her side, just as she will for them. 🐾🤍
