Story
Urgent Rehoming needed. Bernie was rescued in the nick of time in Los Angeles hours before being euthanized. After being fostered for a month in LA he came to Renton. Bernie has shown us despite weighing 14 pounds he has a larger than life lovable and strong personality. Bernie is estimated to be about 8 years old and was neutered before coming to Seattle in December. He’s house trained and does well on a leash. He loves to play fetch and frisbee and can tag along for long walks no problem. Once he gets to know you, He loves to be in your lap and will spend as much time with you as he can. He loves pets, belly rubs, and playing tug-of-war with toys. Sadly we don’t know much about the first 8 years of Bernie’s life, but it’s clear he has a wariness of new people and feels protective of his spaces. Bernie would do best with an adult only home with experienced dog owners, possibly other small dogs. Strongly Recommend behavioral training. Bernie has a bite history and needs lots of love.

✅Currently located in South Korea✅️💟Available to fly to SEA💟The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate.Meet Miracle🌟 1️⃣ Health Status* Neutering: Completed.* Other: Microchipped, heartworm negative, and arthrodesis (joint fusion surgery) completed.* Thanks to his surgery, Miracle has regained the use of his spine and hind legs. He is currently receiving oriental medical rehabilitation (acupuncture/physical therapy). His activity levels and walk durations should be adjusted based on his daily condition.2️⃣ Rescue Story* Miracle arrived at the Gimje Shelter with fractures in both hind legs and his spine. Because the high number of dogs at the public shelter made specialized care difficult, he was rescued by Adogs to receive the necessary surgery and consistent long-term treatment he deserved.3️⃣ Personality & Characteristics* Interaction with People: Absolutely loves people! Is a total sweetheart who will approach strangers first with plenty of charm. His favorite spot is sitting right on a human's lap. Once he knows you, he’ll wag his tail and come running for pets.* Interaction with Dogs: Gets along well with everyone. Has a calm temperament and prefers quietly observing his friends rather than engaging in rough physical play.* Interaction with Cats: Is indifferent toward cats and coexists peacefully with them.* Separation Anxiety: Unknown, as he currently lives in a group setting at the center. May require patient training once he moves into a home environment.* Potty Training: Occasionally leaks a small amount of urine or stool, especially when startled or right after waking up from his bed.* Hygiene: Handles baths very calmly. However, tends to avoid having his paws touched during nail trims.* Walking: Loves walks! Walks beautifully on a leash without pulling.* Car Sickness: None. Rests comfortably in the car during travels.* Nipping/Biting: Has never shown any biting tendencies.* Vocalization: Occasionally barks when he sees a stranger.* Likes: Is highly motivated by treats!* Dislikes: Dislikes having his paws touched, likely due to the trauma of his past injuries. Is also sensitive to loud noises or sudden, large movements.

Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 10-month-old male Chihuahua mix, about 7 pounds. Born 6/30/25, one of the 4 members of "The Boy Band". Brother to Kikkoman, Tofu and Miso. Mochi is very playful and snuggly. He is cautious upon meeting new people and dogs but warms quickly. He sleeps in his crate at night but would surely prefer to share the bed with his humans. His potty training is about 80% complete. He is trained to use pee pads or newspaper indoors, and we’re getting him accustomed to using the outdoors to potty exclusively. He learned how to use our dog-door after only a few days of training, and is curious, therefore very trainable. He’s a quick learner and gets along well with other dogs. He reads social cues well and plays nicely. He walks well on a leash, and loves walks, especially with a small group of dogs, AKA “pack walks”. He is not reactive and does not bark excessively but does sometimes vocalize in response to noises of unknown origin. Because he is a puppy he loves to chew, so it’s good to supervise or limit his access to household objects that may be inappropriate dog toys. If he gets a hold of an item that is not suitable, we re-direct him to a dog toy or chew treat, and he does fine. Puppies love to chew! We think over time he will become more confident and out-grow his initial shyness. Mochi has a good appetite and is not a picky eater. If you are sitting on the couch, he will surely join you, and may follow you around the house, but does not appear to suffer from separation anxiety. He would be good in a household with other small dogs, and adults or older children. He’s unlikely to do well with small children due to his slightly timid nature. We do not know how he is with cats. He is a very well-adjusted little guy and can’t wait to meet you. If you’re looking to add a Smidget to your family, you can’t do any better than Mochi. To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend or private meet and greet after application review. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at smidgetrescue@hotmail.com or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state.
