Story
Meet Milly! Milly is a delightful, tender-hearted girl with a whole lot of love to give. Milly is a little on the timid side at first, but don’t let that fool you—once she feels safe and knows you’re her person, she transforms into the most affectionate snuggle bug you could ever meet! She’s got the kind of wiggle that lights up a room—when she sees her people, her whole body wags with joy. It’s truly the kind of welcome that makes every day better. Milly is still building her confidence with the big wide world, so she’ll need a patient, loving home that can help her feel secure as she continues to learn. Loud noises and new experiences can spook her, but with your encouragement, she’s making progress—especially on her leash walks. She adores other dogs her size and is more on the submissive side, so she’d thrive in a home with a calm, confident dog buddy to help show her the ropes. If you’re looking for a gentle soul to grow with, snuggle up to, and celebrate little victories with, Milly just might be your perfect match. Interested in giving Milly a loving home? Our adoption process and application can be found at - https://www.sunnyskysshelter.org/our-adoption-process Note: Breed descriptions are provided as a general estimate based on the dog's size, shape, and appearance. Story
Meet SWEET TART DOB: 06/25/2018 Weight: 12lbs Adoption fee $350 *(Adoption fee includes the neuter/spay surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Sweet Tart is a fun, active girl who’s always on the move and doesn’t like to sit still for too long. You’ll often catch her eagerly dancing on her hind legs when it’s time to go somewhere! While we don’t know much about her past, like many rescue pups, she takes a little time to warm up to new people and situations. Sweet Tart isn’t a fan of being picked up, but she loves toys, playing in the yard with other dogs her size, and enjoying walks around the neighborhood. We believe she would do best in an adult-only home where she can have a calm and consistent routine to feel secure. Sweet Tart’s excitement is hard to resist, and her little dances will make your day every time! Interested in giving Sweet Tart a loving home? Story
Meet APRICOT Apricot is a delightful senior lady with a gentle and loving soul. She came to us with a fractured pelvis but has since had surgery to help her heal. While her pelvis will never be completely normal, she gets around just fine and still enjoys life. She’s a sweet, mellow gal who just wants love and has plenty of affection to share. Apricot would do best in a home with minimal stairs, where she can get the care she deserves. Her pace is relaxed and gentle, she enjoys slow walks, sunbathing and loves from her people. She could be happy as an only dog or with another mellow dog that doesn’t engage in rough play. Apricot loves affection and is always ready for a cuddle. She’s a sweet girl who’s simply looking for a loving home to spend her golden years in. Interested in giving this lovely senior gal a home? (Adoption fee includes the neuter/spay surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Story
Meet Sweetie – Our Gentle Senior Darling 💕 Sweetie is living up to her name in her foster home where she’s doing absolutely swell! This lovely senior gal may have a little salt in her fur and a little less pep in her step, but her heart is full of love to give. She’s hard of hearing, but don’t worry—Sweetie’s got a handle on hand gestures and pays attention like a champ. She’s also crate trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and uses the doggie door like a pro. Mealtime is a slow and steady affair for Sweetie, so she’s fed separately to keep things calm and relaxed—she just appreciates a little peace while dining! Sweetie is a cuddle queen who loves curling up in the recliner with her humans, or snuggling into a soft blanket or bed on the floor. She manages limited stairs just fine, and while she’s mostly quiet, she’ll join in a bark if her foster siblings start the chorus. She might not win any doggy glamour shots (we think she’s adorable, though!), but Sweetie will win your heart. She’s low-maintenance, full of love, and just wants a comfy place and a kind soul to call her own. (Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.)
