Story
Est. DOB: 01/01/2014 Weight: 6.5lbs Adoption fee: $259 Ciroc is a mellow male Chihuahua who thrives in a stress-free home without young children. He’s happiest where things are quiet and predictable, and he truly blossoms when given patience and gentle affection. He does well with cats and can happily coexist with other laid-back dogs who respect his space. This little guy is low maintenance and doesn’t ask for much—just a soft bed, kind company, and a cozy routine. As a senior, stairs are getting difficult for him, so he’ll need a home where someone can lovingly carry him when needed (which he doesn’t mind at all!). If you’re looking for a calm, easy companion who will be content by your side and grateful for a peaceful home, Ciroc may be your perfect match. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment. Our adoption process and application can be found at - https://www.sunnyskysshelter.org/our-adoption-process Note: Breed descriptions are provided as a general estimate based on the dog's size, shape, and appearance. These descriptions are not definitive and should be considered a "guestimate." Since we cannot always know the exact breed mix of our rescue animals, the information provided is simply an educated guess.

Story
Meet SWEET TART DOB: 06/25/2018 Weight: 12lbs Adoption fee $259 *(Adoption fee includes the neuter/spay surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Sweet Tart is a fun, active girl who’s always on the move and doesn’t like to sit still for too long. You’ll often catch her eagerly dancing on her hind legs when it’s time to go somewhere! While we don’t know much about her past, like many rescue pups, she takes a little time to warm up to new people and situations. Sweet Tart isn’t a fan of being picked up, but she loves toys, playing in the yard with other dogs her size, and enjoying walks around the neighborhood. We believe she would do best in an adult-only home where she can have a calm and consistent routine to feel secure. Sweet Tart’s excitement is hard to resist, and her little dances will make your day every time! Interested in giving Sweet Tart a loving home? Story
Est. DOB: 06/09/2021 Weight: 17lbs Adoption fee: $500 Charlie is a small, chi mix pup with a gentle soul and a tender heart. He was found as a stray and can be a bit nervous when meeting new people or experiencing new situations. With patience and kindness, though, Charlie slowly shows just how loving and attentive he truly is. He does well with other mellow dogs his own size and finds comfort in calm canine companions. Once he begins to trust, Charlie’s affectionate nature shines—he bonds closely and wants nothing more than to be near his person. Charlie will thrive in a patient, understanding home that’s willing to give him the time he needs to feel safe. With love and consistency, he has so much potential to become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment. Story
PATRICK's Story Est. DOB: 10/17/2018 Current Weight: 20lbs Adoption fee: $350 Patrick is a happy-go-lucky guy with a heart full of curiosity and charm. Found as a stray, he’s embraced his fresh start and is loving every minute of it. Patrick enjoys venturing around, exploring new sights and smells, and soaking up attention from his people. Patrick isn’t much of a barker—at least not since arriving at the rescue—and he already knows the sit command, which is a great foundation for continued training. Patrick would thrive in a quieter home with older kids (12+) who can respect his space and energy. If you’re looking for a sweet, adventurous companion who enjoys both exploring and quality time with his people, Patrick might just be your perfect match. (Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
ACAI's Story Est. DOB: 07/02/2019 Current Weight: 15lbs Adoption fee: $350 Acai is a petite Chihuahua with soft white fur and a big personality tucked inside her little frame. She’s calm, cuddly, and people-oriented, with a special love for ear and chest scratches. Mealtime is her favorite part of the day, and she’s highly food motivated—something her adopter can use to their advantage when training. Acai does best in an adult-only home without small children (under 10–12), since she can be protective of her food, toys, bed, and personal space. She may growl if pushed past her comfort zone, but with calm, patient handling and respect for her boundaries, she blossoms into a sweet and loyal companion. While she has done fine around another dog in foster care, Acai prefers to be the center of attention and will likely thrive as an only dog. She is not suitable for apartment or condo living, as she tends to react to outside noises with barking. Her foster is working on this, and she’s making steady progress, but a quieter home environment will set her up for success. Acai does have some allergies, but with the right care and routine she’s able to live comfortably. Her ideal match is someone who works from home or is retired, enjoys a quieter lifestyle, and wants a loyal little shadow to share the couch with. Acai may come with a few quirks, but in the right home she’ll reward you with her affection, companionship, and gentle presence.
