Meet Ivy! Ivy is a spunky, 8-pound, smooth coat Chihuahua that loves to play, but also loves to sleep next to you for a nice long nap after a play sessions (humans, dogs, toys) or a nice bully stick chew stint. She sleeps in her crate and can be alone while you run an errand or at night.  She is extremely easy to train and loves food whether it is her kibble (wet or dry) or treats/cookies.  She is easily trained and goes outside to potty. She is currently living with 7 foster (dog) siblings.  Her favorite activities are hanging out next to you on the couch or in bed, chewing a bone, and going for a walk.  She can be a bit intimidated by bicycles that appear with no warning and isn’t sure strollers and scooters should be legal, but she recovers immediately and is ready to continue on with her excursion. She would love another dog to play with in her new home. She plays consistently with a fellow 8 pound sibling, but engages the larger 15-18 pound siblings too.  She isn’t a Chihuahua that is scared of everything in the world!  She never met a treat she wouldn’t take from complete strangers.   Respectful dog savvy children that are a bit older would be best since she is very small.  She can dart quickly out from under feet when they unexpectedly come too close.    If you are looking for a companion to add to your world for the next 15 years, Ivy would make a perfect addition!  Please complete an application if you would like to know more information regarding Ivy. Ivy is vaccinated, chipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $395. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Looking for a cuddle buddy with a gentle heart? Meet Frito! Frito is a three year old Chihuahua mix weighing in at a petite 10 pounds. Imagine a pint-sized ball of warmth and sweetness, but don't underestimate the depth of his love. While the world can be a scary place for him at times, he finds solace in quiet cuddles and gentle pats. He longs for a patient family who understands his need for slow introductions and a calm environment. He might be a timid at first, but give him time, and his tail will start wagging, revealing a playful spirit waiting to blossom. He enjoys treat puzzle games, is learning to walk on a leash, and thrives on positive reinforcement training. Patience is key! Here's what makes Frito special: Cuddle king: He loves nothing more than snuggling on the couch or your lap while you're working at your desk, reading, or watching TV. Gentle soul: His small size is matched by a gentle temperament, making him perfect for adults or older children. Quick learner: With positive reinforcement, he's eager to please and learn new things. The ideal home for Frito would have: Patient humans: Someone who understands his fears and offers him a safe space to grow confident. A calm environment: Busy households or loud noises might overwhelm him. This could change as he grows in confidence. Another dog in the home who is friendly towards him will help him a lot.  No small children: While loving, he can feel nervous around unpredictable movements. This could change as he grows in confidence. If you're looking for a sweet, cuddle-loving companion who needs extra understanding, Frito could be your perfect match. He's ready to shower you with affection and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to open their hearts. P.S. Don't let his shyness fool you! With love and patience, he'll blossom into a happy, confident dog who will bring endless joy to your life. Frito is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $395 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Story
Meet Sprout! Oh sweet Sprout. This little dude has had such a journey and he is only one year old. Sprout was rescued from an abandoned property in rural WA in the freezing winter months. He was clearly very unsocialized and we spent months rehabilitating him and getting him used to being around humans. During this time, Sprout, who is only 5 lbs and soooo tiny, broke his leg and ended up needing surgery and a cast for 8 weeks. We also learned he occasionally has a seizure so we took him to a neurologist for an MRI,  spinal tap and full work up to make sure he was okay. He has had two seizures that we know of in the months he has been with us, but none since his neurology appointment. It is possible he will need seizure medication at some point, but it is not recommended at this time. His MRI and spinal tap were normal.  Sprout has come so far and has learned that laps are meant for sitting on and that humans make the best snuggle companions. He is still shy and skittish and still has a ways to go but he is ready now to be loved on by his forever person. We would like to see him with someone who recognizes the struggle this sweet boy has been through and who is willing to support him as he continues to blossom. His precious face captures so many hearts and we know the right home is out there for him.  Due to his tiny size, Sprout is too fragile to live with young children.  Sprout is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $395. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Meet Baby! This sweet little girl lost her home and she is feeling a little lost herself but definitely finding her happiness in her current foster home. She survived alone for nearly 2 months when her owner entered assisted care, the only home she has ever known. A neighbor fed her.   She is a lovely 9 year old chihuahua, a tiny thing! She is kind-hearted girl and really wants to bond. Her situation has led her to be shy in meeting people and has a bit of a nervous pacing which we are working on. She is full of love and so wants to be with her people. She is so happy when it is wake up time!  She is crate trained for sleeping unless you want her closer to you. We're sure she would oblige. :) She is on a reliable routine in her foster home, which will be key for her in growing her comfort level. She gets very excited to go for walks! She was trained to go on potty pads but is learning pretty quickly to go outside and do her business, and she is now getting daily walks that she never got to experience and she loves to smell and see the world! She looks to you for constant reinforcement. Just darling. She does not make mistakes and always goes on a pad but over time the outdoors will be her place. Her uncertainty has led her to once in a great while try to nip alert you that she is uncomfortable and as a warning. This is lessening while she is in a foster home and the foster lets Baby indicate when she wants to be touched and petted. She has her favorite spots for you to scritch! She is fine with other dogs after proper meet and greet. Baby is a quiet little one and she would prefer to live in a quiet home without a lot of chaos. She is a great work from home companion and hangs out resting.  She is updated on shots, spayed and her adoption fee is $295.  We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Story
Introducing the darling Jennifer, a petite 2-year-old Chihuahua-Jindo mix weighing in at a delightful 10 kilograms. This precious pup has quite the story to tell, having been rescued from a kill shelter alongside her precious puppies. Jennifer is what you might call a "people person" in the canine world. She adores meeting new friends and welcomes them with open paws, allowing even strangers to lavish her with pets and cuddles. In fact, she's quite the social butterfly and doesn't mind being carried around like the little queen she is. And oh, don't even get her started on belly rubs – she's practically an expert at melting hearts with her irresistible display of a soft, fluffy belly begging for attention. Having been a devoted mom to her puppies, Jennifer has learned the art of sharing and getting along swimmingly with dogs of all shapes and sizes. She's a true peacemaker, always opting for a calm and collected approach when there's a sniff of conflict in the air. Whether it's a boisterous playmate or a gentle giant, Jennifer is all about spreading harmony and love in the doggy world. When it comes to cats, Jennifer's curiosity might pique when she spots a stray feline on her walks. But fear not – her focus remains firmly on her trusted handler, ensuring that she stays on track and doesn't get too distracted by those mysterious creatures with whiskers. Now, Jennifer may tend to pull a bit on the leash when she's overcome with excitement on her adventures. But fear not, for she quickly settles down once she's had a chance to take in the sights and sounds of her surroundings. And as for those tear stains? Well, it seems that chicken might be the culprit, but a little TLC and a carefully tailored diet will have her sparkling like the gem she truly is. This charming canine companion is seeking a forever family who can shower her with plenty of love and affection, along with a dose of tranquillity to match her serene disposition. If you believe Jennifer is "the one" for you, please don't hesitate to reach out to her devoted team. She's ready to sprinkle your life with endless joy and puppy kisses! 🐾 To see more videos:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhJGCgsllwY&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JxsglforEc1FTB9vABc7T-8

# 🐶 Hi, I'm Ludy the Chihuahua! 🐾 Paws and listen, for I have a tale to tell. I'm Ludy, a 9-month-old Chihuahua girl with a heart as big as my ears and a coat the colour of autumn leaves. I'm a dainty 3.7 kg and stand 30 cm tall, the perfect size for snuggles and lap naps. ## My Rescue Journey 🏡 My life began as one of four pups born to a stray, but we were all rescued on July 5th, 2023. Since then, I've been dreaming of a forever home where I can share all the love I have to give. ## A Peek Into My Personality 🌟 Initially, I might be a little shy, but offer me a snack, and you'll see my friendly side blossom. I haven't had the chance to meet many children, but I'm eager to make friends of all ages. ## My Social Butterfly Wings 🦋 I'm not just friendly—I'm the ambassador of play! I approach familiar or new dogs with a wagging tail, asking if they're up for some fun. And cats? We've shared a home for 7 months, so I'm a pro at feline friendship. ## My Love for the Great Outdoors 🌳 Adventures under the sky are my favourite, but I'm all about the quiet life once I'm back inside. I walk like a dream in peaceful places, but those busy roads with their noisy cars can be a bit much for me. ## My Dining Etiquette 🍽️ I'm a lady when it comes to mealtime. I don't mind sharing with people, but I prefer to dine alone with other dogs. And barking? That's not my style. ## My Heart's Desire 💕 I'm a love bug, always following my foster family and showing them how much I care. I may take a moment to get used to new places, but once I do, I'm all about the cuddles and play. ## My Dream 🏠 I'm looking for a family that will cherish my affectionate nature and guide me with patience and love. If you're looking for a tiny companion with a huge heart, I'm the one for you! For more videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3JybayEIi0rIBHHwM59VHFUL

# 🐾 Hi, I'm Chu! 🐾 Hello, future best friend! My name is Chu, and I'm a 9-month-old chihuahua mix with a charming black and white coat. I'm a little one, weighing in at 4.5 kg. My journey started when I was rescued with my siblings on a summer day in 2023. Since then, I've had surgery to fix a cherry eye, but that hasn't slowed me down one bit! ## A Little About Me 🌟 I'm the kind of pup who loves with her whole heart. I'll come right up to you for some cuddles and pets, whether we've met before or you're a brand new friend. I haven't hung out with many kids yet, but I'm open to making friends of all ages. ## My Social Life 🐕‍🦺🐈 I'm a social butterfly, always ready to say hello to other dogs, though I prefer the ones who aren't too rowdy. I've been living with a cat for 7 months, and we're getting along just fine! ## My Adventures 🌳 I love being outside, exploring and playing to my heart's content. But once I'm back indoors, I'm all about relaxing and recharging. I walk like a dream in peaceful places, but those busy roads make me a bit nervous. ## My Manners and Habits 🍽️ I'm not one to guard my food—I'm much too polite for that. And barking? I hardly ever raise my voice. I'm also a pro at using indoor pads and doing my business outside. ## My Dream Home 🏡 I'm looking for someone who loves quiet companionship and gentle play. If you're looking for a sweet, calm, and affectionate furry friend, I'm the girl for you! For more videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3JyzBI7yo3pS31KLk0AFD3eM

To meet Kelly, please email woof@thehausofdogs.com Kelly is a senior girl that isn't used to the shelter environment. She likes to get out in the yard on her leash and does well but hasn't been a fan of being picked up. Though she reportedly did great with the finders dogs, she was not a fan of another chihuahua she met while at the adoption center. At her age, Kelly is looking for a relaxing home where she can just be herself. She would love a warm comfy bed inside and a nice grassy yard to call her own.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Sully! He is a 10-year-old Chihuahua (maybe some corgi) mix who weighs 15 lbs. He was in a previous rescue in CA but was sent to us as they thought his chances were better here in WA. He can be snuggly but also high-strung. He’s friendly and seeks out attention but he can give warning if he doesn’t know you and he feels you’re being more friendly than he wants you to be .The last rescue described him as a grumbly old man. He just needs need some room to make up his mind about trusting you. What’s great about Sully is he’s fun, goofy and energetic and loves to go for walks. He is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. His fee is $200.

Maya is a sweet old lady looking for her perfect purse partner! She’s been with me for 7 years and is turning 12 this May. She’s a sweet little cuddle bug with a big play personality looking for her snuggle partner. Unfortunately, due to my severe allergies I cannot keep her any longer. She would love to be someone’s best friend and would do best in a house with other small dogs, and gentle adults, as she has neuropathy and I believe she may have the early stages of cushing’s. She’s so much fun and would love someone to take her for walks and runs and help her live her best life!

Take me on car rides, walks in the park and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love, and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will come to your home and help train your new pup for only $75.  My adoption fee of $1,195 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.  A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an AirTag from us.  The adoption fee is firm and helps save the life of another dog needing rescue and our other dogs in need of medical care.  We do not guarantee the breed and age of the dogs.  Donations are always appreciated to help pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.  Please e-mail at  admin@gingerspetrescue.org   for an adoption application.
