Story
Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Flynn to CCPAL Rescue. Flynn is a 2.5 month old Chiweenie with a dash of miniature Pincher is our best guess. He looks mostly like a longer legged Dachshund mix. He has a really soft coat that is feels like a Dachshund. He weighs about 8 lbs. He should stay a small dog full grown. He is outgoing, trusting, affectionate and very sweet. He is good in a crate and really good with his sibling Chestnut. He likes to be held and is soft when you hold him. He would be best in a home that someone doesn’t work all day everyday. Puppies need socialization and time being with their human. He also will need to finish off his puppy training. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered soon and ready for his forever home. He was rescued from one of the local kill shelters in Texas. They were out of space and her time was up. CCPAL is giving him a second chance for a new forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Meet Berry! Sweet and wonderful Berry lost his home when his owner passed away. He landed in a shelter and was adopted again, only for that owner to pass away suddenly also. Berry is now in a loving foster home and once again looking for a loving home to spend his final years in. This sweet little teddy bear is as gentle and easygoing as they come. He is 14 years of age and underneath that ball of fluff is a 13.7 pound body. Calm, friendly, and remarkably resilient; Berry was living in his forever home for less than a year when his person suddenly passed away. He was also happily sharing his new home with another dog. He’s not shy — just quietly affectionate and happy to be included. He enjoys meeting new people and other dogs. Recently, he had a dental and had 16 teeth removed; the result has been wonderful. His energy level and playfulness have actually increased, and he is feeling better than ever. Berry is an easy companion with the calm maturity of an older dog and modest exercise needs making him a great fit for a calm household or someone looking for a loving, sweet companion content to be near his people. He is potty and leash trained. Regular grooming will keep his lush double coat looking great. Berry is now freshly groomed, feeling fantastic and eager to find a stable, loving home where he can continue to thrive. He is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped. His adoption fee is $195 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
