Story
Hi, Im Kipper! Im a sensitive little soul who does best as an only dog. New places can feel a bit scary for me at first, so Ill need a home that understands I might take a little time to settle in. But once I feel safe and comfortable? Ohhhh I turn into a total lap dog. Like, professional-level. I also tend to feel more comfortable with women than men, so Id love a calm, patient home where I can build trust at my own pace. If youre looking for a loyal little sidekick who just needs a gentle start, I might be your perfect match.

Story
Looking to rehome my 2.5-year-old chihuahua mix, Bumi. He’s a sweet, cuddly little guy who loves his people and has the cutest tiny overbite that gives him so much character. He’s happiest at home or on a walk (dog parks overwhelm him), and after a daily walk he’s totally content to lounge and cuddle the rest of the day. Bumi is about 20 lbs, neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, crate-trained, and food motivated. He does well with kids and can do well with other dogs with a slow introduction. A yard isn’t necessary, he’s a minimal barker, and he can be left alone for a good while during the day. He’s still working on potty training and leash training — as long as he’s taken out 3 times a day, accidents are rare. When I first adopted him he had one seizure, which the vet believed was likely due to low blood sugar/malnutrition at the time, and he hasn’t had any since (just want to be transparent). Message me with any questions!

Story
Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Flynn to CCPAL Rescue. Flynn is a 2.5 month old Chiweenie with a dash of miniature Pincher is our best guess. He looks mostly like a longer legged Dachshund mix. He has a really soft coat that is feels like a Dachshund. He weighs about 8 lbs. He should stay a small dog full grown. He is outgoing, trusting, affectionate and very sweet. He is good in a crate and really good with his sibling Chestnut. He likes to be held and is soft when you hold him. He would be best in a home that someone doesn’t work all day everyday. Puppies need socialization and time being with their human. He also will need to finish off his puppy training. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered soon and ready for his forever home. He was rescued from one of the local kill shelters in Texas. They were out of space and her time was up. CCPAL is giving him a second chance for a new forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Story
Priya is a Pomeranian/Husky puppy. She is the sweetest and cutest little ball of energy! She plays almost 24/7 (a tiny exaggeration) with a few hours of sleep to recharge. She will play with toys by herself, but playing with humans and other dogs is her favorite! Priya sleeps in her crate for 4-6 hours before needing to go outside to go potty. She is being crate trained and potty training is at about 50%. Priya will thrive with another high-energy dog to play with or kids who will keep her busy. Ideally she will have access to a large space or backyard to run around in. She is good with other dogs. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Bori is a mature, gentle girl who spent a long time in a shelter before being rescued. She is the kind of dog whose presence is so quiet that you might not even notice she’s there— soft, calm, and unobtrusive. She rarely barks and enjoys simply staying close to her person. From the very first moment you meet her, she’s the kind of dog who makes you think, “I just want to hold her.” Bori’s personality is pure gentleness. She is calm, well-mannered, and never disruptive to the atmosphere of a home. She stays quietly by your side, which somehow makes you care for her even more, with a tender feeling in your heart. One important note: Bori tends to chase cats, so a home without cats would be best for her. In a new environment, she may have a few potty accidents at first due to nervousness. With a little time and patience, she will adjust and gradually settle in. Bori doesn’t ask for much. A quiet space, a patient person, and a family willing to spend calm, unhurried time together is all she needs. She isn’t overly affectionate or demanding, but just having her nearby is comforting in itself. That’s the kind of dog Bori is. She is no longer looking to be alone— she is waiting for a family who will stay quietly by her side, just as she will for them. 🐾🤍
